It takes a little bit to get used to driving one after driving a normal tractor style, but once you've got it, you've got it. If you're cutting lines, you have to be careful spinning the mower around or the back tire will dig a bare spot. Just take it nice and slow during the turn and then it's back to full throttle across the yard!
Thinking about upgrading from the Hustler Raptor SD 54 to the Maverick HD 60 for my 6 acres. What do you guys think about the top engine offering, the Kohler 26.5 hp EFI?
I just bought the Maverick HD 54 inch with the Vanguard Briggs engine. It’s not grass season yet so I haven’t had a chance to use it but I hope it’s a great mower especially for the price I gave for it lol
I have the Regular Maverick. I bought it spring of 2022. I mow 4 acres with it. I have the 54 inch deck vs. the 60 simply for mobility and getting around trees and other things. The seat upgrade really only makes a difference if you are mowing rough ground. The HD has a little bit more HP.... 26.5 HP vs. my 24 HP on the Maverick. HD has a Little larger spindles and hydro gears. To be honest, the regular Maverick is a beast over my old Zero turn. Its been able to take everything I have thrown at it. I am happy I did not spend $2K more the seat and 2 HP.
@applefarmservice2487, ummm bovine excrement! There are right and left tanks and fillers. If you don’t have gas in both, it won’t run for 💩, it will suck air. Arguably the biggest mistake Bad Boy made on it.

Maverick HD also has reservoirs for the transaxles, Maverick does not.
They crack and leak....mine as mounting locations to add but reviews kept me from adding them......😊

Honda will be quietest.
Honda will be incredibly quiet since Bad Boy dumped the Honda due to the issues it had.
