I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.

I have a 2007 60 inch cut Bad Boy ZT with a 26 hp brigs motor on it. the mower is old but still looks and cuts and runs like new. Purchased at TSC new in 2007. These mower's are built like tank's and with a little love whey will last forever! You can't go wrong with a Bad Boy.

I bought a 2021 Zt Elite /Kohler. I use it to cut 2 1/2 acres around my home. The first season I put 21 hours on the machine and it has been awesome. Very easy machine to work on, probably the easiest I've seen. Know it's ues to date and the elite has the upgraded 3100 Trans axles. You won't be disappointed with this machine.

Thanks for the video. I was leaning toward getting a Magnum but after seeing the lack of features for the price point of the machine. I am now considering the Ariens for slightly less money more features with the same engine.

Gonna go with a Bad Boy Zero for my business and all my land to mow (10 acres) because I have operated all and personally consider Bay Boy the very BEST in mowers all around.
CANT GO WRONG WITH A BAD BOY!!!
MIDWAY HAWG SHED will ALWAYS look very nice all around, for its customers!
Here in the country, between Carthage, NC and Robbins, NC we call our community MIDWAY. We have one stop sign, one Church, one Grill and being on Plank Road were there is only nature yet the first Intercontinental highway in our country, (the business is 20ft from it!) MANY motorcyclists ride by each weekend by the hoardes!
I've counted as high as 350 and just stopped, as I deducted this to be a waste of precious time whereas could be utilized elsewhere for greater accomplishments.
I will be purchasing a new Bad Boy very soon...
I know it could sure be used on my "Adopt a Highway" section of both sides of Plank Rd from church to Grill...
    And, greatly appreciated!
    Ya'll the heat!, Bad Boy!!!
And, I've mowed with them ALL!

What will you use it for? What size mowing deck is right for you, based on how tight is your yard in spots, and what is the terrain like? What features or comforts can you live without? Price you can afford? That is what it comes down to with any mower. I have an 2017 MZ Magnum 54" Mower, and I like it. I mow 2.5 acres each time I mow. I also mow a Dog pen, with a 6ft entrance gate. I have spots between bushes and house too narrow for a larger mower. I'd love to have a better suspension and seat, etc, but, this was the price I could afford to enter the ZT mower market, and get the Heavy Duty quality deck and mower I wanted. And My wife works at TSC and gets a discount also made it attractive. But the mower has been a good one. I have no complaints. I upgraded to "no flat" tires this year. and am just now replacing the Drive belt. The Blades are awesome for these mowers. and I like the kholer engine. I'd never had one before. So far, it's been steady and reliable. Maybe one day in the future, I might get an upgrade, but for now, I'm satisfied. It beats the old tractor style mowers I used for years. It shaved off a lot of mowing time for me too. If you can afford it, get the best features you can of course.

On the issue of a tight deck adjuster , if you push the foot pedal to far down, the adjuster will bind a bit. Try not pushing the pedal to its max.

I just bought a Maverick 54-inch this past week with the
688cc Honda motor. I mowed overgrown grass that was wet almost twice as quick
as my 54-inch Husquvarna with an infinitely better cut as well. It took all the
leaves from under a large maple and pulverized them without bogging down at all
and blew them wherever I wanted them to go for decomposing. My older John Deere
(real John Deere not a box store version) nor either my 46-inch or 54-inch
Husqvarna riding yard tractor/mowers can touch this Bad Boy Maverick for power,
speed, cut quality. I was worried about it being under powered as it is rated 2
less horse power than the Kawasaki but the dealer had a year end close out
special on the Honda and I could not resist the price and that it was a Honda
motor. Well, and after talking directly with two people at Bad Boy, one who had
actually operated the mower with the Honda motor with a 60-inch deck, they assured
me it would not be under powered, and they were absolutely right. Incredibly
well built mower that gives an amazing cut that is fast and incredibly
comfortable. Looked as Ferris ISX800 and Toro MyRide due to the suspensions and
ultimately chose the Bad Boy and am super happy with the comfort of the ride
and my decision. I was concerned about the rocking back and forth on the Toro
MyRide as well as the MyRide system uses the entire deck for the comfort ride
which leaves you without easy access to belts and pulleys plus the Toro real
wheels are more narrow than all the comparable mowers. Ferris is a great
machine but for my 2.5 acres I mow every about every 5-days during peak season,
I am sure this Bad Boy Maverick high end consumer mower will give me all the
years out of it that I need at quite the savings compared to the Ferris. For
the record, Ferris ISX800 is an amazing machine also.

The Magnum has sealed pumps and the higher tier mowers do not. You can actually service them and get more life out of them. Dealing with that issue now on my Magnum. Get at least the ZT Elite to avoid $1,000 repair per pump on a $3,500 mower. Upfront cost of upgrading pays for itself.

Purchased a Bad Boy Maverick 54-inch Deck with Honda 688cc Motor a couple of weeks ago and could not be happier. I was concerned about the Honda motor being smaller than the Kawasaki by 2hp that the mower might be under powered. It is not under powered at all!. I spoke with two different people at Bad Boy who said it would not be, and one of them had actually had tested the unit personally with a 60-inch deck. Got a great end of year price on the mower and after comparing to a Ferris ISX800 and a Toro Toro Zero Turn MyRide I chose the Bad Boy Maverick. I loved the Ferris but I think the Maverick is built every bit as well as the Ferris, but not with the Ferris price tag. That said, the Ferris suspension is probably better, but I mow 2.5 acres every 5-days, not 5-10 yards each day. Speaking of suspension, the Ferris suspension is really got me looking at the Maverick as it too has a great suspension. So not only did I cut my mow time almost in half (probably will be half with a bit of practice), but is super comfortable and the cut is amazing. Infinitely better cut than either of my two Husqvarna riding yard tractor/mowers. I chose the Maverick over the Toro because it has better transmission, and I did not like the suspending riding deck/platform on the Toro that looked like it bounces too much and also does not allow access to the top of the mower deck for service. I wrote a review about a week ago and it has been erased… Let’s see if this one (same exact content) gets deleted.

I've ordered a zt elite through tractor supply. 48 inch deck. I'm really excited to see if this thing lives up to the hype. It looks very well built but I've noticed a lot of issues with spindle bearings going out quickly. I've also noticed that they are super easy to repair. Also noticed the deck height adjuster is almost always super tight. Again super easy to fix. Just loosen the bolt on it. I can deal with the little things and so far I've not seen any videos of any major issues with the bad boy mowers. Can't wait to get it in. Hoping this coming week. They told me it usually takes weak and a half to two weeks.

David I’m happy to hear you’re excited about your new badboy mower. I will take not of what you have told me. And eventually get some videos out on these small issues you say occur. Fortunately we have not had any tight deck dial adjusters at tractor bobs, these have worked great for us. I highly recommend you find a good legitimate badboy mower dealership that will be able to assist you and take care of any problems you might have. In my personal experience we have only had a few people come in with issues. Usually due to user abuse, most of the people come in to get full service new blades etc. however we did stop selling most kholer motors because of the issues people were having with them long term. I assume you got a kholer since you went to tractor supply, so just a heads up. However many people get the kholer and get really good long term use out of them, it’s just a case by case basis.
      Happy mowing!

I have a 2019 Elite and love it. I’ve cut 18”-24” vegetation with its 48” deck. The 48” deck is a bit deeper and made a bit heavier duty than the larger decks. I bought the 48 for farm and ranch mowing where I can’t get my 10’ shredder ( rotor cycle ). It’s an extremely well built and tough machine.

I've the 2018 ZT Elite 48" and it's been a Awsome machine. Just did the 50 hour service. The blade were almost sharp after a years worth of use. What I'm a little confused on is the Tach/hour meter, I'm not sure of the different numbers as I push the little change button. I don't think the Tach portion is working 'cause it always says 3600 and doesn't show a different RPM at lower engine speeds. The other complaint is the $25 a gallon for the 20/50 synthetic oil for the drives and 1 gallon wasn't enough and got topped off with some 10/30 synthetic engine oil. Yes I only filled to the bottom mark on the reservoir cups. Next year I'm gonna try to find a oil distributor that will sell me some 20/50 synthetic at lesser price. Went with a Kohler engine too 'cause there was a $500 difference between the Kohler and the Kawasaki. BB's seem to be good mowers and I think it was a good decision.

I have a 60" elite. After one year I noticed the seat was coming apart on one side. Eventually I took it off and found out that the seat sits on a base plate made of 5/8" plywood. It had rotted away from its exposure to rain at the dealership before I bought it.
A replacement was well over $400. So I got a new piece of marine plywood, using what was left of the old wood as a template (I had to flip it over to make a complete pencil line for cutting out of the new wood). I cut it out and used a sander to round off the edges like the original. I then painted it (thick coatings) and re-assembled the vinyl and the pad and re-attached the auto-shut off switch. I forgot how good it felt when I bought it.
But an untreated, uncoated plywood seat base? Are you kidding me?! The seat is NOT waterproof. Don't get it wet. I never washed mine, but if you do, beware. And don't leave it out in the rain. If the seat was not ruined at the dealership, it will be ruined by you.

Which models have serviceable hydro drives?? Not being able to change fluid and filter on hydros is what decides how long they last. I won’t buy one that can’t be serviced.

    • @TractorBobs
      @TractorBobs  2 года назад +1

Both are great options. If you have 2 acres or less without a lot of hills or wet spots. Save the cash and get the elite. If you are mowing on hills or have over two acres, go with the Maverick if you can.

@@TractorBobs yeah it's 2 acres, pretty level. But have wet spots in back of property where a huge pond was. I need alot of fill to level it.
Only issue I've w zt elite is the transaxle...they told me at local dealer on the 21 model you can't service them, but the maverick one you can service them.
Is this still the case on the 22 model zt?
