    You look great in that pattern. Keep in mind the more sophisticated the dress, the more steps it will have. All those steps give you a nice construction!

    Thank you for your review. I also have this pattern and upon reading it , I had to put it away because it was confusing. I now get patterns that I have seen sew alongs and reviews for. Gathering all the information I then determine if it is worth my time. I’m not trying to retire just making one dress! I feel your pain….but it does look adorable on you and the fabric is beautiful. I just found your channel and love your energy. Look at the Love Notions patterns…they are so great to sew and they have much support, should you need it. Also made 6 yes 6 of the Lola dress (bought on Etsy) and I get so MANY compliments every time I wear one of them. Happy sewing & hugs from south Florida 💋💨

      You're welcome. Exactly, so confusing! LOL!😂Yep, this one almost put me into retirement for sure! I'll have to check out Love Notions patterns as well as that Lola dress! Sounds really cute for you to make it 6 times! Happy sewing! 💕

    The dress came out cute!! Butterick patterns are not all bad. I made Butterick 6703, it is also a wrap dress. Pretty straight forward and really cute. Not sure if it is still in print, worth checking out.

      Thank you! Glad to know they’re not all that way. I’ll have to look into 6703. Thanks!

    I am used to drafting my own patterns as my mom taught me from i was a little gurl. I have drafted multiple wrap dresses over the years. Ive decided to start using pattern. Let me say , i am good at sewing.. but these instructions had me questioning my abilities. I sew up this dress in 3 hours but my god. The pleat stuff had me wondering. I will definitely edit the pattern.

  • @kpr0ck
    @kpr0ck 27 дней назад

    For those wondering u need to stitch across the pleats on the top part . U need to also stitch across the first pleat on the skirt.
    For the please on the skirt u are essentially making all 5 pleats on top of each other

    Thank for your review. It would be more helpful though if you could be more specific about what steps in the pattern were confusing and what you did to solve it.

    I have bought the fabric, pattern and have cut out the tissue pieces - beginning to wish I hadn't bothered lol as I can see I will get easily frustrated and it will end up in the scrap pile. Think I need to look for another pattern.

      Oh no, not the scrap pile! Maybe try it out, you may surprise yourself…lol😂

    Hi l loved you review unfortunately I’d already started the dress prior to watching this . Now it’s taken me a week and l haven’t even finished. The instructions are awful, l will persist and finish eventually but Oh my Lord what a nightmare. There’s a lot going on and it could have been easier if the instructions were clearer , l know what you mean by winging it . I do however love the style of the dress and yours turned out beautifully.❤️

    • @thedocishaute
      @thedocishaute  Год назад

      Thank you! Yes, I think they should completely redo those directions. 🤦🏽‍♀️ It definitely could have been easier. It’s such a cute dress. I’m sure yours will turn out great, just go with your gut. 💕

    What did you do when the instructions mentioned elastic on seam? It didnt say the whole elastic or how to put it on... i was so lost 😂

    • @thedocishaute
      @thedocishaute  Год назад

      I was lost too! I ended up making my own elastic casing at the bodice/skirt seam and feeding the elastic through. Hope that helps 💕

    Doc Sophia--PLEASE do a sew-along when you sew this one up again. I stop reading the pattern instruction sheet and poured a glass of 🍷 😕
