My “Roseacea” isn’t that bad.. but once I start sweating or I’m outside in the heat for long my face starts getting red and burns. Would these products work for me.
You might want to try it. I've used finacea in the past, and like it. I just ordered the azelic acid and been using it a week now. It's helped clear up this one spot on my cheek that has been bothering me for a while. (Forgive the spelling errors) it's pretty gentle(I've been doing it every other day) MUST WEAR SUNSCREEN! I think this makes you more susceptible to burns, plus just good practice. I haven't tried the second product she recommended here, but I bought it.
WOW !! Same same. I thought I am the only one who is facing these issues. Being a dancer I am facing so difficulty to practice dance. After 10 minutes of practicing a dance routine, my cheekbones look so red, inflamed, and the burning sensations are so bad. Any tips for burning sensation? Thanks in advance.
Same here! I get so red after the gym or when out in the sun, what works for me is wearing a hat and tons of sunscreen, and also my dermatologist recomend applying thermal water or chamomille tea (cold) to calm down the redness

im like 2 months into skincare and ive used niacinamide everyday. the redness went from a high to a medium so far. regarding the sunscreen, it has the biggest white cast ive ever seen. i bought it for the ingredients but i had to take it off, and I'm very white so i cant imagine darker skin tones.

You sound like you have a much more mild form of Rosacea that doesn't require much maintenance! I go twice yearly to prevent Vascular Rosacea and it STILL flares up sometimes! I've had it for over 30 years!
Thank you sooooo much!! My rosacea is easily triggered, including cool or warm water. Due to a terrible sunburn years ago, many of the capillaries are now easily seen and there’s nothing I can do. Makeup isn’t something I use often because of it :/ . Rosacea makes even just simple face washing a major cause of more broken capillaries. My face feels itchy and burns like I’m on fire usually during a flush event. My dermatologist put me on antibiotics (everyday for years now), as the only treatment that stops the little pustules that create that intense horrible itching! For all the appointments I’ve had for my rosacea, not once has my doctors ever mentioned sunscreen or recommended one that’s not going to blow the heck up all over my freaking face . “Avoid the sun, spicy foods, acidity foods or drinks like tomato sauce, avoid intense heat or cold (I live in south Florida, but don’t judge me, I’m not a Karen), so I can’t avoid a major trigger unless I never leave the house and never get near a window. I have rosacea. It has flared up really bad in the past year. The past few months though, it has been crazy bad. Bumps and redness. Absolutely NOTHING was working. I got the Azelaic Acid last week. I put it on Thursday night, followed by my moisturizer. It did sting/tingle and was itchy (namely on the bumps), but I attributed it to the acid doing its thing. Next morning: Bumps were 98% GONE! Redness was down about 70%. Morning after that: ZERO BUMPS. Redness was down another 10%. Yesterday: still no bumps. Redness: down another 15% So right now, my skin does have a little bit of redness to it, but it just looks like a normal flush someone without rosacea may get if they had been exercising. I applied some last night (only my 2nd application since getting it): this morning, all is fine. Put on some moisturizer and went on about my day. Niacinamide burned my skin BAD and did nothing. I read where it helps with blackheads, but I'm not seeing any results, so I may just have to toss it. But the Azelaic Acid is staying indefinitely.
Thank you!!!! I just tried azelaic acid for the first time and my skin did flare up and got a burning feeling :( Even though I mixed it with a neutral moisterizer) I started to despair (because isn't it supposed to sooth the skin?) But then you mentioned here that this can occur when you start the first time and the skin needs to adjust. So relieved!😃 I hope it gets better with time

I love The Ordinary, and I can vouch for both the niacinamide and the azelaic acid! I have rosacea and these has brought my redness down to as close to non-rosacea as I might ever get. I use CeraVe for cleansing, these plus the TO Marine Hyaluronic Acid and an SPF50 and guys, I can even use retinol now which everyone says is risky with rosacea (it took a long time of the 0.5% every few days to now having gotten used to it I can use the 5% one)! I would like to get my hands on centella next, working with budget constraints 😅 I haven't used TO's spf but the azelaic and the niacinamide are 10/10
I’ve used the niacinamide everyday for like two weeks or so, and my pores have reduced significantly! I still have the redness on my right cheekbone area, but it’s starting to go down as well. I start by cleansing my skin with the squalane cleanser, then I use the glycolic acid 7% toning solution, and sometimes I add 100% plant derived squalane OR hyaluronic acid. I close with the azelic acid suspension just in the red bits and then I use the Natural moisturizing factors +HA cream. I only do this before bed right now as I am n maternity leave and my baby tends to suck my face during the days :P
@@flojopdx I’ve since started a round of antibiotics and a cream for rosacea but I’m still using the niacinamide every morning and it’s helping keep the pimples and worst blackheads at bay, yes :)
Oh my gosh thank you SO much. You’re amazing for giving all this information!! Been struggling to find products without having to go to the dermatologist or research for an hour. This quick video does the job!
I have been struggling with rosacea/rednes since i can remember. I have been using niacinamide and the azelaic acid for a while and it really helps alot. It does not totally cancel it out but it tones it down. Plus my skin is smoother. I also use the glycolic toner, hyaluronic acid+b5 and caffeine esgc serum. I am a bit in love with the ordinary since it launched in the Netherlands
Please help! I’m just about to Star using this, in which order do you apply the niacinamide and the azelaic acid? Which one goes first? Do you use it every day?
@@aletrevino6100 I've always heared to put thinner products first, so niacinamide bc it's a watery product then azelaic acid bc azelaic acid is a cream. And always spf during the day. Also I know you can use azelaic acid morning and night. Hope this helps🙂
I’m 40 & had beautiful skin up until 2018 when I went through mycotoxin poisoning, ever since then I’m not only still fighting chronic fatigue, but my skin has what I think is rosacea. I’m going to order these products & you’ve convinced me to see a Dermatologist.
Can you make another sunscreen review? Im looking for a cruelty free product with a light Formular that works with acne prone skin and did not cost 63€ a tube.. And im sure I’m not the only one..
This isnt gonna help im sure but theres a japanese sunscreen thats cruelty free and great for sensitive skin plus it doesnt leave a white cast and feels like a primer. Someone i know of uses it but i really dont know what its called 😅
the beet shield by krave is a great vegan and cruelty free sunscreen that is like a gel consistency and is around 20 dollars. Really great for every skin type!
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid B5 and Niacinamide Zinc turned me strawberry bright red . Their NMF and Amino Acids B5 and Vitamin C suspension HA did wonders for rosacea The Inkey list Niacinamide is also great at calming skin down
The Ordinary niacinamide is amazing! The Naturium brand has an Azaleic Topic Acid product with niacinamide and I vitamin c. It has a higher price than the ordinary products, but it is a bigger bottle and it has 3 actives. It did not sting/burn me :) Just sharing what has worked for me. (I still have my TO one. I was low on it and bought the Naturium one just to have more in sock and I'm blown away by it!)
i recently started using the azelaic acid solution and i apply it after my moisturizer, i realized it peels off after i put it on and balls off in white pieces.

Ordinary products! Yes. Always help. I just can't use any of LaRoche cosmetics that are made for rosacea. I used them last week to test and my skin got way worst...
I have a rosacea since like 4yrs ago and actually got to see some dermatologist, it's not getting better (well the last time i visit dermatologist my skin is actually better and the redness and acnes come again and again for sometimes, and that costs so much money omg) and i'll just start with the ordinary products hope my skin's getting better 😭
Thank you so much! I've just ordered this. Glad to have found a higher concentration of azelaic acid without the silicones (which do clump under make-up).
I am trying this product for the first time. I feel it tingling and mildly stinging around my nose/sides of my nostrils. I do tend to find this area sensitive in particular. In your opinion, do you think people should try to rinse off products that cause this type of sensation, or leave it if they can bear it? Also, you mentioned Azelaic acid can decrease sensitivity over time, do you think this may have the potential to stop stinging in the future? I’m very interested in seeing how this product works for redness for me.
last year I tried the Niacinamide and zinc , I developed flushing from it after a couple weeks that I know struggle with on and off. Is this a thing from Niacinamide?

Thanks for your informative post, here area few more tips for people who might have Rosacea. 1. Do you really think you have Rosacea or have you been looking on the internet too much? It may be common, affecting up to one in ten people, but red faces are not always rosacea. Dermatologists often see patients who are worried that they may have developed rosacea, perhaps following a bit of internet searching, but they may actually have another condition altogether. Facial redness simply occurs because there in increased blood flow to the top part of the skin, perhaps because of inflammation, sun damage or fixed widening of vessels.
So, as I’m watching this video, I’m wondering what caused aaaaaall the tiny capillaries to be SO apparent in my face? I treat my face with care because I do have 🤔 very light rosacea literally over each cheekbone. Is there an answer to address the root of the capillary issue, or is it the fact that I’m 61? Or do I just have to cover it? I don’t use hot water, I wash my face once a day only and use tepid water. I’ve found that Acwell 5.5 Toner really helps a great deal. The licorice component helps calm my skin after gently cleansing. I’m enjoying your channel Cassandra, thank you for your skincare advice.
I’ve been waiting for this video! I bought some products from the ordinary. I treated my rosacea with soolantra, so now I’m trying to do maintenance mode. I have the azelic acid and have been using that each morning. After a few weeks I’ll try using it at night. I have the niacinemide and zinc as well.
Hey I know that you posted this a long time ago but I was wondering if you had pustular rosacea or only redness? I have pustular rosacea and really dry skin and I was wondering if I should use soolantra to treat it as well
@@HelloKary123 yes I had pustules and it helped with my face. Oddly enough it acted as a moisturizer and was great. But check out reddit specifically the subreddit r/rosacea for different peoples stories and routines!

Is this routine still working for you?
@@flojopdx I’ve since started a round of antibiotics and a cream for rosacea but I’m still using the niacinamide every morning and it’s helping keep the pimples and worst blackheads at bay, yes :)
THANK YOU SO MUCH! My mom has been insecure about these and I think these will be a great thing for her
can you make the best the ordinary skincare routine for hyperpigmentation?
Yes, please do!
Oh my gosh thank you SO much. You’re amazing for giving all this information!! Been struggling to find products without having to go to the dermatologist or research for an hour. This quick video does the job!
omdz, i just realized your eye color is amazing, i love it!
Have u broken out from the glycolic toner? I’ve heard that glycolic acid should be avoided when u have rosacea?
@@fifibee4553 i have not. I actually like that toner.
Omgggg thank you so much 😫😫😫 I finally understand why my skin is acting up!!!
Are you kidding me?! I was just searching all your The Ordinary for rosacea yesterday and couldn’t find one!
I’m 40 & had beautiful skin up until 2018 when I went through mycotoxin poisoning, ever since then I’m not only still fighting chronic fatigue, but my skin has what I think is rosacea. I’m going to order these products & you’ve convinced me to see a Dermatologist.
I love to hear the way she explains..
Love your videos, you so knowledgeable and fun to watch ❤
I LOVE TO Azelaic Acid! Thanks for sharing. Sending to my friend who has Rosacea.
Can you make another sunscreen review?
Im looking for a cruelty free product with a light Formular that works with acne prone skin and did not cost 63€ a tube..
And im sure I’m not the only one..
I got the cosrx aloe one, it had super good reviews
This isnt gonna help im sure but theres a japanese sunscreen thats cruelty free and great for sensitive skin plus it doesnt leave a white cast and feels like a primer. Someone i know of uses it but i really dont know what its called 😅
the beet shield by krave is a great vegan and cruelty free sunscreen that is like a gel consistency and is around 20 dollars. Really great for every skin type!
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid B5 and Niacinamide Zinc turned me strawberry bright red .
Their NMF and Amino Acids B5 and Vitamin C suspension HA did wonders for rosacea
The Inkey list Niacinamide is also great at calming skin down
what would be the order of putting on the niacinimine + zinc and the azelaic suspension in the same routine?
The niacinamide goes first
Please make a video on whether you can use face products around your eyes as well.
Can you do a video on spf and makeup?? I just can't wear makeup over any sunscreen I've tried... but I want to protect my sensitive, inflamed skin!
Thank you cassandra!! I have used azaelic acid and it has worked wonders! I have just ordered 5 more so I don’t run out!! Love from the uk xx
After watching your videos I have started using ordinary products and Helped to cure my acne and redness. Thank you so much for saving my life :D
Love from Nepal 🇳🇵
Mineral spf’s tend to work a bit better for rosacea, just slightly less irritating. Love this idea!
Can you pleaseeeeeeeee do a video on Urea and if its okay for acne prone skin?? I want to learn more about this ingredient and no one really talks about it?!! xoxooxoxox
You're such a miracle .. my skin care fairy .. thanks tons
Ordinary products! Yes. Always help. I just can't use any of LaRoche cosmetics that are made for rosacea. I used them last week to test and my skin got way worst...
I have a rosacea since like 4yrs ago and actually got to see some dermatologist, it's not getting better (well the last time i visit dermatologist my skin is actually better and the redness and acnes come again and again for sometimes, and that costs so much money omg) and i'll just start with the ordinary products hope my skin's getting better 😭
could you do an updated version of this?
More about rosacea please please please!
I love azelaic acid 😍 just a tip: Facetheory has a 15% azelaic acid serum named Azeclear.. #Facetheory
Thank you so much! I've just ordered this. Glad to have found a higher concentration of azelaic acid without the silicones (which do clump under make-up).
@@galvinsgarden I know your comment is over a year old, did you get on ok with the face theory azaclear serum?
I am trying this product for the first time. I feel it tingling and mildly stinging around my nose/sides of my nostrils. I do tend to find this area sensitive in particular. In your opinion, do you think people should try to rinse off products that cause this type of sensation, or leave it if they can bear it? Also, you mentioned Azelaic acid can decrease sensitivity over time, do you think this may have the potential to stop stinging in the future? I’m very interested in seeing how this product works for redness for me.
I need an answer to this too !!
last year I tried the Niacinamide and zinc , I developed flushing from it after a couple weeks that I know struggle with on and off. Is this a thing from Niacinamide?
Your ordinary related videos give me all the information I need! 😍 Thankyou soo much, it really helped me gain confidence to better my skin and which helps me feel more confident in my videos as well. 💗💗
I’m still concerned about dimethicone in the ingredients list. Wouldn’t it block the pores in acne prone skin?
Can you use Azelaic and niacinamide at the same time?
Maria Bernadette Abejuro-Red yes you can, i have asked them
Ive used azelic acid for over a month with no success any other suggestions? I used niacinamide hyaluronic acid and spf too
Subscribed! So glad to have found your Channel! I’ve been using The Ordinary products for 2 years now and am loving it! I will definitely go through and watch all your The Ordinary videos!
i’ve been using the niacinamide for a few months but it hasn’t gotten better! i have light non pustular rosacea that gets more red when i exercise or eat spicy food! i just got the azelaic acid so i hope it will work :)
Did it work?
@@ecaofisial8822 i went to a dermatologist and i found out that the redness is caused by the kp on my chin, so no :)
Nice work! I definitely love niacinanide and mineral based sunscreen for rosacea! I’ve had this problem before and it totally cured it!
Hi Cassandra, love the way you explain about each and everything. Plz can you suggest the best ordinary treatment for acne in teenagers
I'm currently using La Roche-posay Rosaliac AR Intense serum... is a little bit pricey but I'm experiencing very good improvements on my cheeks and forehead although my condition is not that bad! I would love to know what do you think about this product especially the main ingredient...
Really love ur vids. Scientific and easy to understand. My skin changed when I followed ur advice by using ordinary products and other tips. Rly thankful !
Omg I have rosacea and this video helped me a lot. Thank you so much!!!!❤ I wanted to ask what is the best chemical peel from the Ordinary for rosacea/sensitive skin? Thanks in advance 😇🤗
Tsvetelina Slavcheva I have rosacea and tolerate the mandelic acid 10% best. No redness.
Thank u soooo much Cassandra really informative video.. I suffer from papulopustular rosacea from past 3-4 yrs... vil surly get des products... thanx again luv from India 🇮🇳❤️❤️
I APPRECIATE THIS - THANK YOU ❤
My neck is red, too. Is that from Rosacea? What should I use on my neck? Great video! Thanks so much.
Do you think that sunscreen is ok for acne prone skin? I have rosacea on my cheeks but my chin breaks out from every sunscreen I’ve tried
Yes, every skin type should use sunscreen no matter what! She has some videos about that, try a mineral sunscreen it also depends on your skin type but if your skin is oily she did some recommendations as well :). I have oily acne prone skin and recently got the Australian Botanical sunscreen, it feels a little bit greasy when you just applied it but after 5 or 10 minutes my face doesn't feel greasy at all and it's actually pretty affordable 😊.
I found a great sunscreen. Krave Beauty The Beet Shield. 3 days in and no breakouts. Works as a great primer too. No burning or stinging either. So happy 😎
Can aceliac acid be my type of „exfoliator“ or do I need another chemical exfoliator to also get the exfoliating done?
late but nah azelaic acid is mild only really used for hyperpigmentation rosacea etc aha bha what U need
thank you, thank you, thank you! I found you by searching for sunscreens compatible for my rosacea and your tips and explanations are gold. new subscriber here ♥️
in what order would you put these products on your face?
lucia niacinamide - azelaic acid - sunscreen
Should the Niacinamide be used before or after Azelaic?
Jessica Gemma before :)
Ashley Johnston thank you!!!!
Hi can u please do a video on fungal acne and ordinary products tat can be used
Thanks for the knowledge as always! 🙂
What’s a good toner to use when having roseacea?!
PLEASE RECOMMEND SOMETHING FOR BROKEN CAPILLARIES?!
Can you use niacinamide and azelaic acid in the same routine
After seeing this video and doing some of my own research I have a suspicion that I might have rosacea. Should I try and bring up my concerns with a dermatologist
I absolutely love niacinamide! I've never been outside without any make up because of the redness and also acne but when i started using nia, I cand go out with just sunscreen on . I see visible improvements on my skin. I'm on my second bottle now
Hello!! Do you use niacinamide daily in the AM?
@@andreavictoriagonzalezarai2525 Hi! since I also use vit c serum, I tend to use niacinamide in the evening everyday except in the days when i use the aha bha peeling solution of TO
Thank you so so soooo much for this video! I have only been using these products for a little less than a week and I can begin to see an improvement in my skin already! I have since started binge watching your other videos whilst in lockdown (uk) and I am addicted to your channel! Thanks again, you have really helped this rosacea sufferer out!
Hi! How does it goes ?? Are you still using both the Niacinamide and the azelaic acid? Do you use it in the same rutine? I’m just about to start! Help please
@@aletrevino6100 i can confirm Azaelic acid has changed my skin for the good. It was a little bit stingy the first couple of times i used it, but it has worked so well! I now order 5 at a time!! The Niacinamide is a bit hit and miss for ME, it might not be related but for me it didnt so much for the redness. However i found tranexamic acid by the inky list was amazing! Hope this helps… good luck 🥰
Also… FYI… the inkey list tranexamic acid smells kinda funky… like burnt, wood… very smokey!
@@staceykeen4207 Thank you so much for your answer!! Do you use it in daily basis? I just bought the Niacinamide too, do you think that I can use it both at the same time? (Sorry for the spelling! English is not my first language)
@@aletrevino6100 personally, i would introduce one until you see a difference, be it good or bad. To properly find out you need to stick at it for 28 days, but you wont regret it.
I used azaelic acid first and loved it, then introduced Niacinamide and my skin didnt seem to so much. Soooo…. It might just be me, you may be fine. Its just personal trial and error! 🥰
Just a heads up! The links provided in the description that are linked to Amazon are not true ordinary products. There are many reviews saying they are fake so if you want these products I would order off of Ulta, Sephora, or the actual website. This is a great brand; unfortunately, there are fakes out there with who knows what as the ingredients.
I went on accutane and thank gosh it cleared my skin..HOWEVER, my nose got burned once months ago and it hasn’t went away. It’s still pink most of the time. Any advice? I’m currently using the Ordinary’s vitamin C & Rosehip oil, moisturizers & daily sunscreen with touch ups! My derm said I would go away within a year...😅🙃😬 idk
Hi. If I started with this process, can I use the caffeine solution also?
I am really afraid make a bad combination of products. Thanks
Can I use the toner and then the azelaic acid ?
Can you please do a review about the Weleda skin food line? Love youu❤
Could we get one for eczema as well please ? 🥺
I love your videos!! They are so helpful! And you have really helped me overcome my acne and I’m glad I was on this journey with you! ❤️
Can you use it as a moisturizer in the morning and then apply sunscreen?
Thank you so much for this video! It's really helpful! ❤️
can i mix these both Azeliac acid + Niacinemide with salicylic acid?
Can you make a skincare routine that is cheep and easy to follow? I didn't really know what are the essentials and where to start
When do you apply the last product ?
Do I put these products on at night or in the morning?
@@aleksandrasivolob thanks so much!
I used Soolantra too, and it helped lots especially with texture. After that Ive been using azelaic acid, and Soolantra and azelaic acid are the most things that helped me most with rosacea :)
Should you use the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% before Azelaic Acid 10% or after?
Thank you, Cassandra, for sharing all the information.
The niacinamide goes first, since it's a serum
