I have had rosacea pretty much as long as I can remember, my father has it as well. I was officially diagnosed as a teenager. One of the things that has helped me SO MUCH with redness is the Laneige Hypoallergenic Cica Sleeping Mask. I wanted to pop this comment on here because I’ve been scouring the internet for years for things that might help me and since this one works for me, I hope it works for you too. I follow the directions on the back of the box it comes in and use it every night.

I've had good results for my mild combo papulopustular rosacea using Garden of Wisdom's azeloyl glycine version of azelaic acid. My favorite SPF so far is Pipette's mineral SPF 50. It's super gentle and doesn't break me out or dry me out like some zinc based SPFs can.
My newest discovery, which helps with my redness (and it seems to reduce my pustules even when I'm not using azeleic) is Banobagi Milk Thistle Repair Cream. I love it so much! It was created for post-procedure skin but I chose it based on research on using milk thistle extract to modulate inflammation in rosacea skin. It's incredibly soothing and, if I'm having a redness flare, it reduces it within a few minutes of application. It also seems to balance my oiliness (I think maybe the burdock extract is what helps). It has a lovely texture, too.

Someone with rosacea+acne prone skin: Over time I made my own cocktail for skincare. As of now, I can use niacinamide, retinol and ascorbic acid at the same time on my skin with notorious results. I've had some peeling at the beginning from retinol, which is normal, went away after a few days. I dont use retinol every day, but b3 + ascorbic works amazing for me, together with a very hydrating gel-creme. My skin is both oily and dry.
Tip: for pimples (especially when I pop them...) I use betadine exclusively for spot treatment. 2 days max and skin is back flat ready for hydration. I never understood why people won't use betadine for pimples but do toothpaste 🤷🏻‍♀️ random tip but someone might wanna try this!

Commenting from the 🇬🇧 your stunning 😍 you bare face looks so much better you don't need any make up to look flawless. I've been watching you for so long I knew underneath all that acne was a beautiful confident soul. I've struggled all my life but I've figured out why . I quit smoking 2 weeks ago and I've not had a breakout since my hormonal levels have gone to a stable level and My dark circles are lightening everyday and I've got more colour and feel glowing. Who knew one bad habit could cause so much damage to one's skin. I'm 23 and this year I have so many things I want to change. 8 years of smoking and wasting money on products that were never going to work with my addiction and my skin is now healing its self with a few of your recommended products. I so wish I had done this years ago but I'm on the right track now thanks to you. I won't ever listen to anyone but your advise your the best. Much love xxx

I've had acne for 18 years and rosacea for about 10. It was the kind that just leaves your skin permanently red underneath all the acne. My skin was super oily and dry.
there were 4 things that FINALLY helped me clear all of it.
    1. roasted dandelion root tea stopped new acne from surfacing (flushes out excess hormone buildup from your liver) I drink 1 cup every day still. I started seeing results within 16days of continued consumption.
    2. azelaic acid cleared my redness and acne scars. (I used the ordinary 10%, dont forget to use spf with azelaic acid)
    3. La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer (without spf) repaired my skin barrier and after 5days of use my skin was no longer excessively oily.
    4. plain yogurt improved my skin texture OVER NIGHT. (i let it dry on my skin for 15mins and rinsed) My skin felt like sandpaper beforehand and the lactic acid from the yogurt immediately improved texture. (you can add your favorite skin oil and even crushed oatmeal to make a mask but plain yogurt by itself will do the trick) In the beginning i did this every night for 3 days and then only once a week.
Bonus tip: shaving my face really improved the feel and absorption of products.
    Good luck everyone

You may have kp and not acneand if so yogurt would be great as it contains lactic acid,it's a gentle exfoliate. I get the reddness of rosacea but winter only I get tiny textured red bumps as winterhere is cold and dry air.so moisturiser with occlusive ingredients is important, but so is gentle exfoliate twice and week to stop dry skin clogging pores.only relize recently it's kp which most only get on legs and res, but some on face to. Good tips!

Hi there, just want to share my opinion on Rosacea. I'm 44 and have what I would say mild Rosacea, type 3 skin, medium olive (I'm European). I mean, I have days when I'm not that red but most of the time I am. I came to the conclusion, that my rosacea is manly triggered by what I eat, its a gut issue (however probiotics doesn't seam to help). If I am very strict with my diet, my skin looks good (low carb, complex carbs only, no sugar, lots of fruits and vegetables, no milk products except for clean yoghurt, no deep fried stuff, only use avocado and grape seed oil to cook with and olive oil raw on salads). If I eat lots of carbs, sugar, drink coffee, my rosacea gets worse. That said, topical isn't help me except for sunscreen, I have to focus on diet. I also get extremely red after gym, but this was so even when I was in my 20th. I am on Curology prescription now and they gave me a formula of 0.003% Tretinoin, 5% Tranexamic Acid and 4% Niacinamide. I have normal to oily skin but NO acne, never had acne. The formula gives me nice skin texture, however, my skin is red based on what I eat.

That perfectly describes what I'm experiencing as well. I have to be strict with my diet otherwise I flare and have bad episodes. I've got the worst rosacea flare up of my life in most of my face since yesterday and as I was going through a mental list of what could have been the trigger (wore a mask for 24+ hours, trip from Argentina to the UK so "suddenly" completely different season and weather, new moisturizer, water too hot/too cold?, rougher face towels?), I decided to start by trying to blame the new moisturizer so I was wondering what kind of replacement I should be looking for. If you want to play it safe and give your skin time to bounce back, you can't go wrong with ''Eucerin Ultra Sensitive Soothing Care Cream''. I have sensitive, reactive, acne prone skin with mild rosacea, my skin is SO picky with moisturisers! After lots of trial and error with countless products, this Eucerin moisturiser, was the first product that actually, visibly calmed down my skin! They do two types, one for normal to combination skin with squalene and the other one for dry skin with shea butter. I like both, but for the winter I prefer the one for dry skin. It's £16 and you can find it everywhere (Boots, Superdrug, FeelUnique etc) has an airless pump and it's fantastic under makeup as well ;)

I'm an esthetician with hormonal acne + rosacea. My skin has never been better since i made these changes: sought out a dermatologist who provided me with Spironolactone (got rid of my cystic acne so quickly), got on a prescription retinoid (I use Arazlo, a moisturizing form of tazarotene for sensitive skin. it is AMAZING. I could never tolerate tretinoin long enough to see the results). And also adjusting my diet to be more whole foods/low sugar. Exfoliating less and focusing on hydrating/barrier repair products has been key to calm redness. All of these factors together has helped me get to the point where I can go make-up free. I hope this helps someone else in the comments

Niancinamide did make my combination roscea skin better. Did not get rid of the black heads on my nose but calmed down the redness on my cheeks. But a little sun actually makes my skin feel and look better.

My Rx cream (Metronidazole) directions say “”apply a small amount to the face two times a day”. I only have issues on my cheeks and nose … so should I apply it only the those areas or on the whole face? I don’t want to waste it or treat where I shouldn’t. LOVE your videos. I have to get a derm to look at mine. I know the redness around my nose is just broken capillaries but I have a dry and red forehead *all* the time, particularly in between my brows and sometimes it gets little sore red bumps, so I am suspicious it may be rocacea! I also have very fair, sensitive and overall dry skin 🙃

Thank you so much for your rosacea content! When I got diagnosed about five years ago it was hard to find good information online to help support the efforts I was already doing in partnership with my dermatologist. My core prescriptions are Oracea oral and Metrogel topically. Niacinamide is one of my favorite topicals but my other go-to is cica (aka Centella asiatica). It's so gentle and soothing and really helps control my redness. I still have flare ups but they are generally less intense and shorter in duration than they used to be. My doc and I have never talked about ivermectin (so that's on my list for my next check up) and I'm going to look into azaleic acid right now.
Thank you, sincerely, for all of the good, honest, scientifically based information you share and for advocating - always! - for transparency in the marketplace and on social media. I love your channel and have become such a big fan. ❤💙🧡💚

    Can’t wait!
I have rosacea - some time ago I used a cream that had cortisone (which was not disclosed as an ingredient and after further investigation was done on the product, it was taken off the market). FYI, it was marketed as a all natural product and it was called AUR DERM.
After using it for months and months my skin became addicted to it and I didn’t know what was going on - my skin was so red, I had lots of stubborn white heads, it was my worst nightmare.
When I finally went to a dermatologist I found out what I got myself into.
Even after taking antibiotics for 3 months and using soolantra, my skin is far from being okay. Still red with lots of red spots that don’t seem to ever go away.
I saw another dermatologist and I’ll soon start taking isotretinoin, a antibiotic and two prescribed creams. My last hope I guess.
However, I do have a good skin care at the moment - in the morning I’m using a licorice root serum from Its Skin, then a 15% azelaic acid cream from Isispharma, and looooots of sunscreen (only mineral - I love Uriage, Isispharma, Bioderma, SVR).
Then at night I have a Cosrx Centells asiática serum, and from purito a night cream with ceramides.
I do not use anything that has fragrance or essential oils.
Even though these are good products, it’s far from being enough to tackle my rosacea which is very stubborn.
So hopefully I’ll be able to beat it soon ( the reason I’m waiting to start my treatment from my dermatologist is because I still have to do one more session of SPL on my legs as I am a hairy PCOS mess).

This sounds like a similar kind of situation as mine. I'm a dark skin toned guy. Years ago someone prescribed me a creme to lighten a skin tone that had acid which burned my skin. It lightened, but as soon as I stopped using it. Skin started popping and getting dry. Saw doctor and she told me, this was 'Steroid Induced Rosacea' nightmare!!!
Immediately stopped using it and doc started my withdrawal procedure with doxycyline tabs and glycolic acid face wash, and many other. My treatment was effective and I followed it for 3years. Now it has gone, but my skin has become sensitive and my skin around eyes is still pretty dark. Looks like terrible dark circles. Also, I think if I flame up...it starts hyperpigmentation. Tried multiple things, nothing works so far.
I'm thinking to use..Bearberry extract, Aloe Vera gel with Rose water.
You'll get through it. Much Love.

Not sure if the promo still works but I got a month free and plan to continue to use this to my grave. $25 a month is worth more than all my skincare that wasn’t helping me before.
I have super sensitive skin so I was worried about starting a new routine but I’ve had no problems at all!! Of course wear your sunscreen, and maybe skip makeup as much as you can at first. I have acne too and it’s helped that as well. Turns out rosacea just keeps those old acne marks red! I’m not as pimpled as I thought I looked. Continuing my Differin gel in combo as a spot treatment.

I had tried the dermatica 20% azelaic acid but found it far too strong and irritating for me, so I am back using the ordinary 10% 😃 I find using Niacinamide and tranexamic acid also helps. Thank you for all the information. Your presentation was great. I would like to add that I found your voice difficult to listen to, and that may be because I am a musician. But, you might consider taking the growl out of your voice, if you can, and talking with a smoother more tonal sound. It would be easier fo listen to you talk. I am not sure if you are able to do this, or are aware of your voice tone. I hear the same growl on voices in the news or elsewhere in public speaking. It almost sounds like an affectation, maybe from feeling nervous.
Your caring and warm presentation and all the information you shared was wonderful which I enjoyed very much so thank you, and I apologize if I have an over sensitivity to the tone of peoples voice!
