This issue on my 2018 Chevy Traverse has been getting more and more aggravating in the last couple of weeks. Replaced the shifter per your video and problem is gone and hopefully defintively. Thanks so much for the walk through!
You sir earned a follow i saw your last video and your comment saying that it temporarily fixed it and put a link to this video showing the real problem if you didn't take those extra steps i wouldve thought it was only the first thing
18:55 Great video guide! Very much appreciated for the video. My 2018 traverse doesn't have any of those issues, but this video will come in handy when the time comes. This is by far one of a kind vehicle that was properly built with the proper layout and placememt of every parts. When it comes to serviceable. It is the easiest vehicle ever to be service. Zero problematic. Just boom boom....done! No fuss! Try servicing hey other vehicle and you're bound to run into one problem after another because they're laid out in the most awkward place that just absolutely made zero sense that you have to tear all these other parts apart JUST to get access to one little thing.
Two days ago I did the cable thing in your other video and the shift to park problem disappeared for one day only. I guess I need to buy a new shifter now. Thank you for the video and I suggest you make a note on your other video that it didn’t solve the problem
You're welcome! I will update the first video and provide a link to this video. If you have any questions let us know. Good luck and thanks for watching! 🙂
What a waste when all you have to do is replace the micro switch on side of shifter assembly. Part costs about $2 don't even have to take shifter out. Repaired mine 3 years ago and no problems since.
It isn't covered under warranty? I have a 2022 traverse & it has been doing this sometimes sporadically sometimes very often for the past 10 months & is still under warranty. I'll be checking the registration website for recalls tomorrow.

2018 Premier

Great video thanks for the easy walk through! Just had to do it myself. Any issues since the fix?
You're welcome! Glad you found our video helpful. I'm happy to report no issues. Replacing the shifter is the way to go. Thanks for watching! 👍
How much did it cost for all the new parts needed? We have a 2018 traverse starting to do this.
At the time of this video, the new shifter assembly was about $80. And in-line adapter was $9. Thanks for watching! 👍
Thank you 🙏🏾
You're welcome, thanks for watching! ☺️
Where did you buy the shifter from? Was it from the dealer or another source? I am having the same issue and mine is as well a 2018 traverse
I bought it from GMpartsdirect.com
It is a OEM part from AC Delco, I believe the shifter was around $75. Hope this helps, thanks for watching! 👍
Is this an actual fix, or is it the same exact part that will just have the same problem again?
It fixed it for me! Been a few months now and hasn't come back yet. 🙂

Is there a video on replacing the micro switch?
Do you have a link to the part?
GM (GarbageMade) needs to fix this issue for free, shouldn’t happen specially in a 2022 Traverse.
Agreed, thanks for watching! 👍
