My red & white bins were purchased 20 yrs ago at the container store, i have rarely seen that style again. I do have these gray ones amzn.to/47LCj5j that are the same size. They are in the tower next to my design wall. I also use several size baskets, you can get baskets anywhere.

One thing I’ve learned about free motion quilting is to doodle. The more you do it, the better you get to be. It’s muscle memory. Practice by quilting your name on a practice sandwich. You will be surprised how well you do. By doodling you are building memory that will make it easier to quilt.
Thanks Pat. I'm doing the 52 lists and mine last week was a positive one too - confronting but good, as you said, just for ourselves. I'm also doing a 4 inch star each week to go with the list and they're all dedicated to you and the positivity you put in to the world through fabric, patchwork and quilting - thanks!!
Being a cat "Mama", I love the cat in the Witch's garden. The pumpkins are super. The fabrics in the pumpkins are just perfect. Another wonderful project Pat.
The free motion tutorial you gave has helped me alot. I don't like heavy quilting on my quilts. I am glad to hear you can break thread to change color and patterns. I am getting some good ideas to finish my Autumn Wonders quilt.❤
I just finished quilting my Canning Jars - I used a Mason Jar -End to End quilting design on my embroidery machine. Came out so cute!
sounds darling!
Thank you for showing us thread colours on various coloured fabrics. It was very helpful .
I just love the background fabric on the quilted witch quilt!
thank you!
I think the hexagon shape would be nice quilting. It would look like looking through chicken wire in a pie safe.
I always feel so much better after watching one of your videos. You have piqued my interest in listing what I am good at. This will be a challenge as I have never given it a though before. Thanks for your positive and can do attitude.
Loved, loved, loved the quilting tutorial-it’s always so interesting and helpful to see your process.
Good morning, Your quilted witch quilt is so pretty. I love the background you used.
I can't get over how the change in fabrics makes such a difference in the Quilted Witch--just Love it! Thanks Pat for sharing all your thought process--it helps me so much!
I love the first plaid pumpkin you held up first!
Thanks for the mini-tutorial on how to quilt the canning jars quilt. I ended up ordering the 2420 thread because I liked how it looked and blended and I don’t have that color. I am slowly trying to accumulate more colors of thread. I am learning so much from you. Thank you so much!!
I do love the background fabric you are using on The Quilted Witch quilt.
And I think it would look really pretty to add some maple leaf blocks.
I love your pumpkins! They are perfect for that space!
The pumpkins are really cute.
I really enjoyed the quilting tutorial and thread color choices.
You are Quilting suggestions were very helpful. Thank you.
Thank You Pat , Good show today it's raining in Ohio ,but a good news it's 55 out side today and the snow is melting. Yes Spring is on it way you have a wonderful day.
Loved the quilting tutorial and the thread presentation. The peach thread looks so good. Thanks Pat!
Thank you. I always come away with some new tip or two. Quilting the canning jars...awesome ideas!
Yes, I loved your tutorials on quilting possibilities and thread color. I always learn a lot from your tutorials. ❤
You are so inspirational. I haven't been successful free motion quilting. I will give it another try. I straight line quilt and get kind of bored with it. Thanks so much.
let use know how it goes, you can do it!
Loved the quilting demo! ❤😊
Thank you!!! I had just finished making the sandwich for my Canning Jars wall hanging...and set it aside to contemplate and decide how I wanted to quilt it. Perfect timing...loved all your ideas!
Love your quilted non-witch! Especially the background fabric-perfect.
Thank you so much!
In the canning jars. I to would do the match stick quilting. For me I wouldn’t want busy quilting. This quilt is so pretty. Love it.
Thank you! It was very helpful to walk through the quilting thoughts!
I loved the quilting tutorial and I think the Witch’s Garden Quilt is just awesome!!
Thank you Pat. Always nice to watch your videos. You inspire us to keep on quilting!
Thank you for the great demo on quilting the canning jars. Gave me lots of ideas for future, domestic quilting of smaller quilts. Love my visits to the Sloan Zone!
I do so many of your quilts,....eventually :). I never seem to be in sync. I am grateful you delayed your Main Street quilt or fast fat quarter. Because I am in the sae stage as you, for once. I finally feel like I am actually sewing ALONG with Pat Sloan. Thanks for being slow on this one so I can keep up. All the best.
I’m doing the valentine cross stitch. Nice and small, goes quick.
I am going to get the borders onto my "Oh my Stars" from late last year & finish it.
I practice designs on a large drawing pad from $store for developing muscle memory, then quilt the design on an old pillow case (or one from $store) . I can look back in the drawing pad to refresh my memory on designs I've used.
Your canning jars turned out SO nice. I didn't think it was a project I would like, but it would look really cut in my kitchen. I certainly have the wall space for it.
Great video today. I always enjoy walking through your thought processes. Thank you, Pat. Have a wonderful day. ❤😊
Loved the quilting tutorial. Can you do this often please? I can't afford to send my quilts to the spa. Thanks for all you do.
What you saw is about all i do for freemotion. There are many other quilters out there that specialize in that. its' not my thing
Gmorning Pat thanks for sharing how to quilt the jar quilt 😊
The idea of making a list appeals to me! Never thought of doing that! Sometimes we concentrate too much on stuff we don’t do well than the stuff we do!
The matchstick quilting will look awesome on the jars quilt.
I hope you make the list!
Thank you for the quilting tips for the jar quilt. I just finished sewing my rows together last night. Have a great day, looking forward to the breakfast club block tomorrow. That quilt is so fun to do.
I bought the list book and am enjoying it. I am a person who makes lots of lists. This list makes me think a little. I am not much of a journaler but I am trying this to help me.
It is a nice pace at just one a week
LOL on your blooper! Yes, I've done things like that too. 😊
Thanks to your encouragement, I've been working hard this January on moving older and recent projects forward by picking one each day to work on. Some are so close to being finished that I wonder what made me stall on them. I've also put binding on 3 quilts, and quilted 2 more that are now ready for binding. Thanks for the nudge to finish projects. 💖
I really enjoyed the quilting idea part of this video. I found it helpful. Thank you
The thread color comparison was really interesting. I tend to stay with white, cream or pale grey, and appreciate seeing more colors. Thank you!
Hi Pat. Thank you for the mini thread color in quilting tutorial. I really enjoyed it! Very informative. ♥️♥️♥️
😮 I am going to take a few minutes to write down what I am good at. Thank you for confidence builder.
Thank you for your free motion quilting suggestions on our canning jar quilts! This was very helpful. I always have a hard time figuring out how to quilt my projects.
You are so welcome!
Good morning everyone. ☕🌻
Oh my the pumpkins r super fab!!!! Love the fabrics. I think I will try to do a quilted crow block that I recently saw on Etsy on my quilted witch quilt. The thread demo was great to see, will keep in mind for some quilts ready to be quilted soon.
I use light pink, light peach and a light mint and sage green on the longarm. It’s amazing how those colors blend with almost everything
Love the canning jars and the last quilt you laid out!!
Hi Pat! Every time you put up the Quilted Witch blocks, I fall in love again 🥰🥰 I love the colors & how it's coming together!! Also, I may just have to do the 4 patch one just to use up scraps 😊😊
Loved your quilting tutorial.
Thank you for Spain possible quilting patterns. I have only done hatch
Thank you I really liked your video. I’m trying to do more free motion. I just bought your book for just that. ❤️
I have the Happiness book. I found it very difficult to do the list, I guess it is related to upbringing when taught not to be proud.
Yes I very much enjoyed your tutorial on the quilting. My question is when picking thread color how does the back of the quilt figure into that? Thank you
GOOD MORNING ALL!
Sweet!
I am going to try to list things I am good at doing. It is hard as I sit here thinking about it.
Thanks Pat!
Great video
Good morning! I love your videos! I'm a new quilter and always learn something new. Can I ask what computer program you use? I think you did a tutorial once about it..?
It is no longer made. Was bought by another company years ago and they discontinued it. It is a professional level graphics software. Any software like that can be squares and lines, and they are all very difficult to learn. Not intuitive at all
Thanks for tutorial on quilting. I need a way to prepare or preview quilting designs. I have a piece of plexiglass I can lay on quilt top, but honestly it doesn’t really work for me. I got quite a bit done timing myself yesterday. That will be my goal again today. Move along an ufo in 1 hour.
I practice designs on a large drawing pad from $store for developing muscle memory, then quilt the design on an old pillow case (or one from $store) . I can look back in the drawing pad to refresh my memory on designs I've used.
I use clear vinyl sheet and wrap color painter’s tape over the edges so I can readily see the boundary. Overlay the sheet on your quilt and use dry erase markers to audition quilting designs. Use scrap batting or soft cloth to erase ( make sure not to wipe across your quilt- stay on the vinyl!) you could use page protectors for small areas, too.
Good morning everyone
❤❤❤
What color number is the off white? Interesting using the peach - thanks for your explanations.
it is shrsl.com/4e7pu
I know the broom isn’t in the layout but I would love to see the broom at the bottom., just think it would be great accent.
Love the big pumpkins you made! Do you have a pattern for it? Would really like to make them instead of the witch😊
it is right in your book. If you did not buy the book yet go to shrsl.com/48ebk
What program are you using when you showed the quilting ideas on cannon jars. Hello from appomattox va
ANY professional level software package can do this. Mine has been discontinued for many years and is no longer made. Professional level software is NOT easy to learn. I also draw with a Wacom tablet, never a mouse. Get a tablet at amzn.to/3SdCK1O
What computer program are you using that allows the doodling? Thank you.

@@PatSloan Thanks for the link Pat! I just received the Wacom tablet and am now on a learning curve to something new! lol. My time is probably better spent sewing, but have to doodle some quilty stitches before I get to my machine to quilt all my projects :)
What about horizontal matchstick
you can do whatever you like
I have a question, I have received a very large queen size quilt that has a lot of red/crimson fabrics in it, I took it to a dry cleaner today and they refused to clean it for me because of concerns of bleeding, it is too large to wash in a machine and was wondering if anyone has any idea how to clean it while keeping it dry. Someone suggested steam cleaning but was worried about bleeding.
I've heard of people laying old flat sheets on the ground outdoors on a nice day, laying the quilt in the sheets and cover with another sheet. Leave outside for hours to air out. To clean anything else, a vacuum cleaner attachment with a small screen over the opening and go over the quilt in sections. If there are stains, spot clean
Straight line quilting would look like bead board
Make another cat!
Good morning everyone
