Love that book with the red tulips did you realize that red tulips are the flower for Parkinson’s awareness along with a gray ribbon? My husband has Parkinson’s so I’ve made a few small things with tulips.
That elephant is so cute! But you can take the one strip set of his trunk and have it point outward. There is a reason trunks are one way or the other. But an easy fix!
FYI: Quilts of Valor has their annual national sew day Saturday 3 February this year. Just an idea for anyone looking for a near future project. They even have a annual quilt block, though be in the members dashboard.
I hosted a QOV sewing day tears ago and it was a fun feel good day.

Yes, to Poppi the Elephant! Although I generally prefer seasonal wallhanging rather than those for specific holidays, Poppi is fabulous! It would be great fun to make seasonal versions of him(her?)! So much fun!

I noticed the beautiful blue block of tulips and the butterfly in the quilt behind you. Right before you commented in your video about the tulips in the Sew in Love book. Both tulip patterns are fabulous.
I am so excited about the Joy Quilt Along! My 13 year old granddaughter fell in love with the Christmas tree quilt on the front of the book, so I kept trying to buy the physical book. When I received it, I fell in love with the Joy quilt with the gingerbread people. My granddaughter and I will make the Christmas tree quilt, but I was determined to make this quilt too. I have a gingerbread Christmas tree, and I am embroidering a gingerbread Christmas tree skirt. Now I can put the Joy/gingerbread quilt on the back of the couch. Also, my husband lost his older sister a year ago at Christmas time, and her name was Joy.
Looking forward to the Christmas sampler. I will be using my stash. ❤

I use satin stitch quite often for applique. I really like it.
I think most people love roses, but I’m with you, I love tulips. I don’t currently have any in my garden, as the ones my sister and I planted a couple years ago never came up! Moles, voles or chipmunks got them all!
I have the pattern, I was in a local quilt shop and had to have it. I haven't bought any fabric to make it yet. I live in Alabama and have a grandson going to the University of Alabama and the mascot is a big elephant. Sooo I had to have it,

Sometimes making a sample book with all the settings written down is good for reference for projects. Put sample in sheet protector with notes written on stitch length width, thread used, needle tension settings, etc.

Pat, after watching your videos and your Q&A, the thought came to me that you have a stunning collection of threads to sew with. After quilting as long as you have, I too have this collection. So my question, which I believed has not been addressed yet, is which colour of thread do you use on any given quilt? I know newer quilters are leaning towards neutrals but soon many 5hreads to choose from? Maybe you could address this in one of your Q&A's?

If you make a Oh My Stars quilt with the Valentine fabric, you could fussy cut the XOXOs on the panel as part of the top and bottom border.

We used to like breakfast at Bob Evan’s, but all of them have closed. 🙁They were always busy, so I’m not sure what happened. Love the ambassador doing the full breakfast plate. It’s so cute and original!

Question about Appliqué. I struggle with appliqué because I doing have the appropriate blanket stitch. My machine only offers a blanket stitch that has the bite going to the right of the straight stitch rather than to the left. I think there might be lots of us with this issue. How would you recommend doing appliqué with that stitch? Should I just stick with straight stitches or zig zag instead? Thank you for your advice.

Yes. I just ordered the elephant kit and let me tell you what pushed me over the edge to do it. My granddaddy was Papa Ellie. I’m not making this up. So, I ordered with misty water in my eyes. Even if I don’t get it made I can prop it up to look at. ❤
