That was a large amounts of quits that was submitted the committee should only allow 1 per person. Some of theses are wonderful and people should be able to see them. Thank you for showing these beautiful works. I cant imagine the amount of time, energy and hard work that these people have put into this art.

I got a class at Quiltcon today. But yes, seeing more than one entry by a single person defeats the purpose of growing Quiltcon for as many artists as possible. I'm looking at all the quilts your showing and I just want to follow all these Quilters to see where they get in throughout the year.

I agree with you that there should be a limit on the number of entries per person. Our state fair used to allow as many as people wanted to bring. Then, it dropped to 5, and now allows 3. It really encourages people to submit their best work, and, of course, it is not a juried show, so that was an issue when people could bring as many as they wanted. It is nice to see more people's work represented.

I was a volunteer for the first 2 Quiltcon’s (hanging the quilts) and there were a few quilts that got in that were questionable. But I knew why they got in- they were friends with many of the judges and Quiltcon folks. Affluent and influential. I also heard that many quilt competitions are now going to where the quilt has to be quilted by you and not sent to a longarmer. There has been some controversy because some people are saying that they are being priced out because not everyone can afford their own long arm machines. Not that sending it out is cheap either. But I have seen some beautiful quilting done on a domestic machine as well. These quilts are so beautiful! 😍 12:43 love that one!

Loved watching this. A lot of these rejects certainly didn't deserve to be not accepted, there were many I felt were better than some at the show. (Admittedly seeing photos is not the same as seeing them in person). I also think some were rejected because they weren't really "modern" they were very much traditional - just my opinion. Wishing I was that good.

I agree it does seem unfair to let people have multiple entries while shutting others out. And hopefully they only get to be shown once and not brought back. It gets boring seeing the same type of quilt over and over and frankly I don’t call some of them quilts anymore. They are more wall fiber art because you certainly could not wash them or put them on a bed. Jmho

The “Splash” quilt looks to be rectangular, with square corners, but the perspective from which the photo was taken with it on the floor distorted the shape in the photo.

I can understand that you might want to limit quilts per artist in order to give coverage to more quilt artists. However, the organizers of the show might be concerned about not having as many quilts by "Big Name" quilters who might draw attendees. Just a thought. Both points of view have merit.
