Man what a coincidence. I've been listening to the original a lot lately and just stumbled on this outstanding cover. Like everyone else I'm totally on board an 80s cover album by The Killers.
It says a lot about a band who can truly do justice to a great song like Electric Blue. The highlights for me are Brandon's vocals and the slide guitar with little of the energetic drumming at the end. Bravo.
I love Ronnie rocking it at the back. Imagine Brandon became a golfer. The world would have been so much worse off. Like someone said previously he is so handsome you can't look at him straight and sending joy into the world. The Killers makes my soul rejoice
I actually met Brandon during his "Flamingo" tour and can attest that he is hard to look at face to face because of the ridiculous handsomeness. My friends and I joked that you need to talk to him peering through a pinhole in cardboard like you would an eclipse!
Outside of it being an outstanding version, the lighting, subdued background vocals and melancholy feel really captured the mood of much of the world at that time. Fantastic version 💪🔥💪

Oil's "Forgotten Years" is a Classic .... Brandon took a few verses to get into the vibe but when he did.... Boy.... did he nail it!!! Total respect to cover an Aussie anthem in front of 100k...
I love this track and the album. Take me back to when I was 17❤
10 seconds in. I’m in love. Awesome is an understatement.
Ahhhh .... as an Aussie, this brings back great memories of the 80’s. Fantastic cover version. I second the motion for a Killers Cover Album.
dougbj40 I was a 12 year old English kid in school in Sydney in 1987 and this song takes me right back there . Icehouse where a great band , cracking cover this though .
Yeah brings it all back so many great memories ...
One of my fav 80s songs! Great cover Killers!
It blows me away that such a big band knows and Appreciates Australian music
So impressed by this. I’ve been randomly rewatching this video for a month
This cover is great. Everyone is on-point. I absolutely love Ted Sabley playing the sax solo on the slide guitar. And Brandon's voice is wonderful. Thanks for uploading the full performance :)
yep 1988. icehouse had USA hits with crazy, #14. and then electric blue. #7. they were big back at that time.. halcyon days!
Damn, that sounded clean.
Everything this band touches hits my soul. Never stop playing!
I always liked this song...Now even more with the beautiful interpretation of Brandon. :D
Thanks!
:)
My late mother's favourite song.
They are amazing.
Got me addicted to this cover and Brandon's vocals
Recently announced that Ice House & The Killers will be performing at the Adelaide 500 Supercars race this December. It will be interesting if the bands co-join for this song.
oath they will, what a song
Man what a coincidence. I've been listening to the original a lot lately and just stumbled on this outstanding cover. Like everyone else I'm totally on board an 80s cover album by The Killers.
No-one will ever beat the original, but this is pretty awesome.
Wendy Secombe IMO it’s on a par if not better!
I agree.
@@rowds57 That's because you're nuts.
True but this is so close it's ridiculous. The Killers are amazing!
@@rowds57 As stoked as I was to see The Killers cover this, you gotta be crazy to think this version comes anywhere near the original.
It says a lot about a band who can truly do justice to a great song like Electric Blue. The highlights for me are Brandon's vocals and the slide guitar with little of the energetic drumming at the end. Bravo.
The talent never ends so happy to hear the new music that came out and looking forward to hear more
And that’s how you cover a song👌👌👌
I love Ronnie rocking it at the back. Imagine Brandon became a golfer. The world would have been so much worse off. Like someone said previously he is so handsome you can't look at him straight and sending joy into the world. The Killers makes my soul rejoice
I actually met Brandon during his "Flamingo" tour and can attest that he is hard to look at face to face because of the ridiculous handsomeness. My friends and I joked that you need to talk to him peering through a pinhole in cardboard like you would an eclipse!
@@scorpiogirl114 LOL. Lucky you.
@@scorpiogirl114 LOL. Lucky you. I think the thing about Brandon is he has a beautiful soul too and that shines through
One of the best underrated 80s bands. Icehouse/Flowers are awesome. God bless Iva Davies and his hair.
Outside of it being an outstanding version, the lighting, subdued background vocals and melancholy feel really captured the mood of much of the world at that time. Fantastic version 💪🔥💪
