TIMESTAMPS & Video Info (Please Read!)
This video is a concept I've had in my mind for quite some time to cover topics in a way that I felt my normal video style didn't do justice. I felt like certain subjects needed more than 8-10 minutes to talk about, and would be better using an outline and then speaking off the cuff beyond the few bullet points I was using. Let me know in the comments if you enjoyed this video, and if it does well I'll consider doing more of these in addition to the regular content I create!
    00:00 Introduction
00:56 What types of events are we talking about?
01:47 What to expect at a MILSIM event?
05:55 Be prepared to wear your kit all day (gear and packing advice)
08:08 The importance of water & hydration
09:00 Overpacking (and underpacking what’s really important)
    11:50 Proper footwear
    13:06 Bringing a “FOB bag”
16:32 Packing the right food for a MILSIM event
21:18 How should you test your kit?
    23:28 Preparations before the event
    24:29 Conclusion

FOB bags are one of those things I think should really be phased out whenever possible. I'm a much bigger proponent of packing intelligently so you can keep everything you need on your person.

Maybe I'm just really bad at gauging what I need, but that never works out for me. I don't have spares on my person, but I always keep extras for the essentials.
For example: I went to the typical Saturday. I never use more than half a bottle of 2800 bb's in a day. So I brought a full bottle of 2800 bb'a and a completely full ODIN - plus - all 7 of my mid caps were loaded.
That day, the field had a *crazy* turnout of like 150 people (Average day is like 30, tops). I needed more ammo since there were more targets to shoot. (Also, I loaned a few mags worth of ammo to players, so this is my fault too)
I also had to break into my emergency spare 1 gal jug of water due to Florida being... well, Florida and sure enough, nobody thought water was a great idea for the 97* day with 100% humidity.
Anyway, I'm not trying to start a fight (I'm actually a huge fan of your channel) I suppose what I'm trying posit and propose is this:
I never estimate this sorta thing well, here's a great example from my life to makes the point I'm trying to make, and how can I get better at estimating things so I don't have to keep up with a FOB bag/leave supplies in my truck?
      Thanks Eric!

Great video Laine! We got to a big milsim game each year called Battlefield here in Canada, this year it was 400 vs 400. Somewhat similar to milsime west as you mentioned but not nearly as.... in depth lets say. But you are out there for hours and hours.

Again with the exception of milsim West and 40 hour continuous games, being able to carry everything on you but keeping it to a bare minimum is a challenge. Ammo, weapon tools, food and snacks, medical and especially above all else some water.
I would like to see game rules be adjusted where each player has to carry a minimum amount of water on them.
If you can afford a $1,500 rifle with a $200 optic you can afford a $30 Condor hydration pack

There has got to be something he is missing, I have been watching his videos for years and am always amazed how few views he and your channel get. Both great channels but they have to be missing some keyword that the RUclips algorithms look for.

What’s your thoughts on the n grenades? I’ll be going to the Southwatch MILSIM. In general I don’t really like the reusable grenades because they get lost in the woods and grenades that produce a flame aren’t usually allowed. I have the Taginn 67 but plan to get my hands on Taginn -19s to round out my Russian kit. Although their are rule limitations on semi auto firing where do the “shower grenades” such as the 40 mike. In this MILSIM event there will also be grenadiers. And on a side note I’m thinking about getting an under barrel grenade launcher I mainly run AKs but plan on picking up an m4/nato variant later on. Do I get a GP 25/30/33 for AKs or a M230 and mount under my AKs with a piccatinny rail?

    • @TheBBWarrior
      @TheBBWarrior  3 года назад +1

Taginn grenades are very loud and way nicer than the EG67s. I’d recommend the GP series for an AK because a M203 would probably be really odd to handle on an AK platform and the trigger guard wouldn’t have anything to hook onto

I almost am ALWAYS getting bad reactions or allergic / sick reactions to any foods I eat.. so I'm not sure how that would work for me... but maybe Gluten Free Crackers and Beef Jerkey? I'm sure I can find some, but I think that's one of my main super big issue I will run into at events.

How far on average are parking lots from the FOBs? Is it possible to use your car as extra storage? Or are you kinda screwed after parking and get stuck carrying your rucksack, FOB bag etc for the rest of the event?

well Milsim is a very braod term... milsims in my country are just a regular skirm of about 6 hours with a slightly differant rule set like medicing... we don't have something like milsim west in my country... we don't have events that last 40 hours or something... but airsoft has only been legal in my country for 8 years, so that is relatively short time... we're still learning as we go... maybe we'll get bigger events in a couple of years...

Fir plate carriers you dint need real plates fir casual milsim. You only need dummy plates which are dense flexable foam.
