3:20. My motto is “heavy is ready”. I use milsim as a method of training that’s cheaper, more fun, yet semi effective training, while not on duty. Run full kit.. plates, helmet, and even a few small weights to simulate actual ammo weight.
It makes it much harder, but makes it more fun in my opinion. I’ve also seen improvements in my real world performance because of it
STEEL PLATES FOR MAXIMUM WEIGHT AND MAXIMUM PAIN
@@doc-t-8648 based
@@pedoslayer based
Personally. I think less weight is better unless you love injuries & self mutilation & potentially even having to leave early due to said injuries. No plates for me. But that's a personal preference.
Like one can go plates. But definitely only carry what you need otherwise it's just excessive & dead weight & not useful to you & even a hindrance in speed & energy levels. Calorie & water drain from carrying too much is real.
Military surplus stores are life. There’s stuff constantly going into them. A marine like me with issues gear getting damaged or missing those are the first places I look for. They are life savers
Guard here. had some uniforms stolen right as I left AIT, managed to snag multiple replacement uniforms between a few milsurp shops in my area, at a significantly reduced cost. absolute life saver for sure.
Him- lite is right. Me- heavy is ready
@Kai Finnegan Thanks!
you’re talking to yourself aren’t you?
I typically carry a zip log bag of bbs. Why? well that’s my last resort like if I’m holding down a building and need to reload all my mags or pistol mag. It reduces the noise even if you take the air out of the bag.
You can take the air out with a drinking straw.
yeah as a last resort to throw the bbs at them.
For newer players in general don’t be afraid to ask questions. Most people are willing to answer and you can get some really good advice
I have never been to a milsim, one of these days I'm going to go.
take me you
Creepy Airsoft did you go yet?
@@Scorcher76 not yet. One of these days.
Creepy Airsoft haha alright see u in another year when you finally get to play
u gone yet
I literally sang “the bare necessities” from Jungle Book at American Milsim, the reactions were priceless!
In real life combat, you will be wearing the same uniform for days and even weeks depending on the missions. As a Marine and all Marunes know this, you do A LOT of "Drip Dry" in uniform. The biggest and best info is always have a medical kit with you and have some knowledge of how to treat wounds. You're gonna get bagged up, maybe burnt while playing with fire and likely get cut by a can lid. So have the stuff to treat yourself and others on hand.
Lane, thank you for putting together the MilSim videos. I watched them and followed the advice, particularly regarding "water, water, and more water". Turned out to be well needed as the day was 83, muggy, and direct sunshine. Nice work!
Really like the carry only what you need philosophy
As a Boy Scout from the 90's, "carry only what you need" is not what my instinct tells me. My mindset is "Carry what I'll need, things I may need, and something my battle buddy might also find useful." Lol
@@arnoldlayne9469 I've got the same mindset.
2 minutes in. Easiest subscription ever. Super high quality content with a great personal flavour. Thank you so much for the content and keep up the great work. I have a feeling this is going to be a great year for you, seriously.
Thank you, I really appreciated reading this. Hope you enjoy what’s to come this year!
PUT YOURSELF IN BETTER SHAPE AND PACE YOURSELF please. It especially helps when you need to continuously run from place to place/ building to building while you have all you gear on.
Edit: also start drinking a bunch of water like a month before the milsim if you don't already because it will help with cramps and its of course always good to stay hydrated.
This’ll sure as hell be a lot of help for those who are new to the milsim scene. Personally I’m slowly adapting to the world of GBBR, so I’ll have to think about how many mags I’d need for that. Thanks for sharing this man, when I get to go to a milsim I’ll know how much beef jerky to get before going 😂
lol i had trouble at first cause i wanted to unload so often that i'd run out early on, practice and easing off the trigger finger makes a world of difference in ammo use, and now i can get by with just 3 or 4 mags
Spacemarine658 yeah! Ammo consumption is a must. I’ve been getting good with that just playing outdoors (my local outdoor field is really freaking big)
Ever thought of using a Kythera hpa with using the UGS to take co2 so you don’t have to use a big tank, it’s extremely accurate and lasts and can take AEG mags while sounding like a GBBR
Thank you so much for this video! Very useful
Awesome vid man this is perfect cause i going to my first milsim next month and dont know what i need to get before i go i am pretty set as i have been playing for years but wanna make sure i got everything
are you going to The D14 events?
No i am actually going to a local milsim called operation overwatch
KISS Method..Well Done,,
My first air soft event ever was Copperhead V! Thats right I had NEVER played air soft in my life!
I'm just jealous you got to experience such a cool AO as your first game
@@TheBBWarrior It was awesome had gun issues got dehydrated threw up!!! AND STILL LOVED IT!!!!
God bless you man!
Been waiting to go one for nearly five years. My first one's next week.
Preparing for American Milsim’s ‘Arsenal’ in June. Future me appreciates your help.
for loadbearing i use a chestrig for one reason platecarriers make me real sweaty
For mil-sim operation I wear with myself a big backpack with sleeeping bag and kit to help me stay warm true night or day. Next is a lot of pure water and right meal to eat. Good to have is good GPS navigation or knowledge of map and terrain where you fight! Spare sucks is right choice too. And what about ammo? As manny as I can carry. 7x 300bbs mags + 2 more bb bags. and 2more bateries. We fight in woods at long ranges from 60 to 100 meters of distance between us. Several points somwhere where you must be in right time at right place and just fight for it, like a top of the mountine or the point in middle of nowhere etc.. And other group have had to trying to kill you. Our mil sim is more about open space tactics formations during fights and topographic knowledge more than witch vest do you wear or how much ammo you can carry.
Nice video really enjoyed the tips. Do you have experience with massif combat gear?
Thank you very much!!
Going to my first MilSim in a few weeks, wish me luck fellas.
I picked up some LBX project Honor camo for $25 (top) and it was worth it for sure.
One of the most important things is to clearly understand the rules os the event.
Helmets are your friend!
great tips thanks
I watched this before I went to a longer milsim than the 24 hour one I go to typically and I usually run 3 5000 round m4 style box mags and it takes so long to load
at the last milsim i went to i ran alice lbe which made it easyier to carry a lot of my gear on me.
@The BB warrior hello I have to ask you a question and I'm debating on getting the krytac trident mk2 crb or the vfc avalon caliber cqb and I want to ask you what would you choose I don't want to open up my gun and repair it so I need help deciding
5:50, is stimulating falling dead like that required, I had always loved the idea of going to a milsim event but over the years ive messed up my back and falling like that over and over wouldn't quite help, ive heard its nice to act as being hit as realistically as possible.
Usually not required, but encouraged, just kind of adds to the immersion, but a majority of players I've seen don't fall like that.
holy hell bro, first time I've found someone else named Lane on the internet. It's so rare
I’ve gone to mil sim with a trishot shotgun and a AEP with a 100 round mag
I’m just going with RE2 USS Alpha team gear
It’s real easy to drop max cash into this sport. Luckily mine is all funded by Uncle Sam but if I ran the same load out with my own money it’s almost 35K
I want to go to a milsim event in Florida I just don't know how to start
timestamps are NOT in the description
I had a guy at the Airsoft field I go to had a gas blowback kar98 and his barel froze mid winter
5:46 did that man just die 😂😂
Just get one of each uniform so you have one for every occasion
Not sure if mentioned but carry a spare battery for that aeg
what gram bbs should i bring .20? .25?
The guy at 5:47 is hella committed
Hey there mister Lane the BB warior man My first milsim is this sunday its the Crimean Confrontation would it be acceptable to wear a supposedly tan plate carrier while on the grean team wearing all woodland camo?
Absolutely! Gear color doesn't matter at this event. If you have any other questions message me on my Facebook page; otherwise see you tomorrow!
theoretically i could carry 7 primary mags plus 1 in the gun with the pouch, plate carrier, and dump pouch i own. is that excessive for an ak loadout considering it’s much less likely i can just ask one of my battle buddies for a spare mag than if i were running an m4 or dmr? i thought about having 9 plus one in the ak at one point but once i picked up a sidearm one of my dump pouch slots was taken up by a spare mag for that.
At the last game I went to, I maybe got to my third magazine twice. I’m definitely in the camp of carrying less than 5 mags but I also run 150 round mid caps
I’m new to airsoft what is milsim
Great vid, only one thing i dont agree with is the MRE comment. in a perfect world youll have the time to sit down and actually heat up an MRE on patrol or in your FOB. In my experience Ive gotten interrupted either while heating the MRE or while eating the MRE and coming back to find it spilt on the ground or gone cold from sitting... Heres the solution: eat it cold. Its not like its gonna taste any worse lets be real. use some hotsauce packets and youre golden.
On the topics of snacks, a good mix of something 'healthy' and sugary. Trail mix, dried fruits, jerky and some sort of candy like star bursts or skittles for a pick-me-up.
all this info is relevant to those who play in continuous OPs, or plan to spend some time in the woods (up to 48 hours) longer term sustainment is a whole other can of worms
I'm a new player and I love the milsim side of both airsoft and paintball! Looks awesome but I never been in the military and have no experience I'm 29 years old am I to old to play? Do I need experience to play at milsim events?
nobody is too old, and you don't need any experience - i recommend watching more of these videos and some actual military conduct/organization videos
@@asgarihanif thanks dude I'll take what you said into consideration👌
What if you and your buddy’s are WWII nerds and have WWII uniforms and equipment would we still be able to show up to an event dressed and equipped as such?
Heavily frowned upon but I’m sure there’s some events that will allow it. It never hurts to ask
I guess my only question would be what’s the shower/ pooping arrangements like? In milism west ?
At MSW some AOs have outhouses/porta potties but I wouldn’t count on it. Bring a E tool to dig a hole. Other events like AMS, Third Coast, etc where you can leave the field offer these accommodations. If you want a shower, you’ll need to get a hotel room
You don’t need a shower, bring baby wipes or go wipes and you can gear down and clean yourself either in a porta shitter or before you get some shut eye inside a sleeping bag or something
when you said that there was no point of bringing a radio you could of just had a squad channel and have one person on the entire platoon's channel
Hey bb warrior awhile ago you made a video with gun gamers testing krytac mag compaitiblity would the pts epm work in a krytac vector?
Hahaha just kiddig
What about a gbbr how do I use a mid cap if it’s a gbbr? Or does it just not apply to gbbrs?
GBBRs only have magazines that are around 40-50 rounds, so that wouldn’t count. There’s been some brands that make custom drum mags for GBBRs but they’re not allowed because they function like a hi-cap
I have 8+1 Mags LMAO
So i run a mk 12 and is wonder for an American milsim should I register as a DMR or Rifleman.
I believe they only allow 7.62 replicas to be DMRs. If that's not the case, you'd base it off velocity
@@TheBBWarrior thanks so much
is multi-cam required..and is all black apparel allowed.
It depends
my tip is only use grenades !!!!
I wish we could do this in australia
Bruh milsim in the outback... Would be sick.. too bad it's illegal in Australia
@@commandercody3935 what is? Airsoft ?
@@KING__-vi3ns yeah airsoft is banned in Australia I'm pretty sure. I'm Canadian so it's available here (Canada) but with restrictions.
@@commandercody3935 ahhh ok yeah that sucks for people in Australia . Thanks for the info have a good day 👍
5:46 Whys it look like my man actually died bruh
WHAT IS THAT BACKPACK PLEASE REPLY I WANT THAT IT LOOKS PERFECT TO WEAR OVER MY SPIRITUS
The tan one? It's a Mercury Bravo by a dude called Engage Tactical. I have a review on my channel but his quality has gotten better since I got this one years ago
@@TheBBWarrior ok thank you lol
I carry 9 mags
can i bring my hi capa 2011 with m4 mag adapter with hpa tank
Many games won’t allow HPA tapped pistols, but it can vary. Check the class system at the game you’re interested in for more information. I’d also bring .28g BBs
@@TheBBWarrior why .28 bbs?Over .20 sorry for the newbie questions
Did he just die at 5:47 (I mean actually die IRL)
Should i bring handgun to open field milsim?
Do you have the extra 250 dollars for the pistol, 2 spare mags, and gas/co2? If so then sure, a pistol can be a great for cqb
@@backseatswitchyy its open field
@@graze1177 does it have buildings where cqb is involved? Nevertheless, if your primary runs out of ammo and you are within 25 feet of your enemy, switching to your pistol is always faster than reloading. If you have the money, go for it. If you aren't sure, put it to a gear upgrade or a gun upgrade, whether that be internal or external.
Edit: I'm on mobile so my spelling is shat
@@backseatswitchyy i dont think so. It suppose to be in the mountain (ish) envi/ jungle ish envi. I dont have the money to buy extra mag tho
@@graze1177 like I said, if you are unsure about it, put that money towards your main weapon and buy better internals or a new grip or optic or something.
I think he forgot the time stamps
I guess I don’t understand this hobby but maybe it’s because I spent 20 years and more deployments than I can remember getting shot at, mainly in one of several sandboxes in the Middle East.
You're that guy! My hero! I bet the units you were deployed with and missions you did were so secret you can't even mention them. Yet, you did. Bro, who are you trying to impress by saying this? Write a book, get a movie deal, let's read about and see your fascinating life on the big screen all your tales of "getting shot at" in "several sandboxes". I bet all the dudes at the VFW and 12 year old boys are so impressed with your stories.
You didn't speak on camping setups. If it's cold and your not prepared for it you will have a miserable time
when airsofters talk about that face masks make it hard to breathe so what the hell is it a gasmask you are using?
in paintball ther is not much of a problem to get breathe in most of the face masks unless its becaus of unfitness ore helth problems that is the issue to beguin with.
You rock up in your tradie dad’s asbestos mask
