    I'm a Marine combat veteran.
    I've been playing airsoft for several years now.
    I've watched all the big names and some small names.
    This is probably one of the best "tips list" I've seen.
    I was pleasantly surprised.
    Keep up the good work.
    Yut!

    Another important tip that’ll increase your chance of winning certain fights is learn how to shoot with both hands. I learned that playing paintball and I use it in airsoft. If you’re using the wrong hand on the wrong side you’ll expose more of your body to your opponent making you a bigger and easier target.

  • @Whiskey11Gaming

    Man, I loved watching this learning process first hand!
    My biggest one was "Never go prone, or at least don't go prone without the ability to stand up in cover" In airsoft its far easier to dodge bullets than real life and most don't know how to hit moving targets. Being mobile is important to survival and going to a knee near cover or concealment (almost the same thing in airsoft) works just as well and gives you far more mobility, which is a life line.

    Great tactics video, on AEG's. There is maximum range, and effective range. Maximum range is basically useless, and involved luck. Effective range means what you are aiming at, you can hit. Totally agree.

    That cover peek tip makes a lot of sense and I'm a little ashamed I didn't really think about it. Sure I mostly did things from the sides but *not* knowing what you *shouldn't* do is still risky.
    Repositioning also. For the few initial games I've played once I see someone I just go for it as best I can, one on one, no matter if I'm seen. You're right. That engagement is down to luck and moving is needed.

    Great video.
    The 50/50 situation does have some caveats. If the game has instant or reasonably fast respawn and you're close to it, sometimes it is better to just roll the dice. The outcome might be 50/50, but the risk is not always symmetrical for both parts.
    The range bit is fucking critical for sure, I learn that early on.

    sneaking around is very underrated. Once i had all black in a forest area and was able to sneak to the enemy base. I was around 20 from the enemy but I put a lot of bushes and leaves between me and the enemy. Even if I was all black, sticking out like a sore thumb, they werent able to see me. I was trying to get one bullet per kill but my gun wasnt accurate enough [or they were cheating]. 10 mins later, i got frustrated and just use'd full auto then they saw me

    I have found that having a single guy behind lines with a machine gun, or sniper can be very effective, because he can provide cover fire, without very much risk of the opposing side picking them off, and they often turn the tide on a situation like you outlined at 4:30.

    as paintballer i dont recognise benefits of skirmish line. but tactical retreat is sweeet skill to learn. once i goated my mirror to bunker me out as i retreated one bunker behind. i heard him running and blast the empty corner. as he came in line of sight, i placed one shot in his chest. he felt the hit and didn't have time to spin on me.

    • @GunfatherMilsim
      @GunfatherMilsim  2 года назад +2

      A skirmish line is simply a way to get multiple angles on the same target. Airsoft is a game of angles. IMO the relatively short range of paintball (I haven't played in years) makes skirmish lines less effective but not obsolete.

    I am pretty bad about trying to fight from well beyond a reasonable range. I do it in video games like PUBG too and can barely put enough rounds on a person to knock out a chunk of their health at 500m. Then their squad moves up on me while I get distracted a little while later and slaughters me at 50m.

    Do you upload team based tutorials too?

    • @GunfatherMilsim
      @GunfatherMilsim  10 месяцев назад +1

      I don't do team based videos as this channel is a one man operation. I have done a few videos on team CQB using my marker board to explain some basic concepts. If I ever asked my coworkers on the SWAT team to assist me with making airsoft/milsim content it would not go well. The sport is still very much frowned upon and sharing team SOPs is not allowed.

      @@GunfatherMilsim ah okay. Since you are police. Do you think airsoft is a training method for extremists? I remember a kid who was arrested for trying to go to Syria a few years ago and they said he prepared bu going to gym and playing laser tag and I think airsoft too.

    • @GunfatherMilsim
      @GunfatherMilsim  10 месяцев назад +1

      @sirfanatical8763 Airsoft is primarily a recreational activity. Anytime you are shooting projectiles at each other that cause pain there is SOME aspect of real world training there. However it is fairly limited in scope. You can pick up as many bad habits as good ones if you are not careful. I have done several videos on the subject.

    • @Whiskey11Gaming
      @Whiskey11Gaming 3 года назад

      Realistic? Probably the gas blow back variants if they are still in production... expensive, unreliable, inaccurate, but a lot of fun and very realistic in operation.

    • @GunfatherMilsim
      @GunfatherMilsim  3 года назад +1

      Dan what are you looking for? What do you have in mind when you say "realistic"? They are all 1:1 replicas of the real thing for the most part. None of them have anything that could be considered realistic recoil. The reloads are the same but 95% of models do not require you to hit the bolt release after a reload. So realistic is a hard thing to pin down. I can recommend some good, reliable airsoft M4s if you like.

    • @carlvonfuckwits2934
      @carlvonfuckwits2934 3 года назад

      @@GunfatherMilsim Thanks, yeah basically to shoot, move and communicate inside close quarters, and Bolt hold open would be nice, did not know there were no bolt release models. I have looked at some of the gas blow backs but I'm swamped. looking for a good 10.5 to 14inch.

    • @GunfatherMilsim
      @GunfatherMilsim  3 года назад +1

      @@carlvonfuckwits2934 I have not purchased an airsoft M4 in several years and the bolt catch thing is only on a few models. The brands I would recommend are ICS, CYMA's Platinum line or Krytac. Personally I have never owned a Krytac but they are high quality. Do NOT get a gas blow back (GBB) rifle. They are not worth the trouble. A very small minority of airsofters are VERY passionate about GBB rifles. They are the vegans of airsoft. They love GBB rifles for the "recoil" but clearly don't know what real recoil feels like. Treat their advice accordingly.

    • @marcushillerstrom25
      @marcushillerstrom25 3 года назад +1

      @@carlvonfuckwits2934 Airsoft guns don't really have recoil, I would call it feedback. The best thing with a gbbr is the trigger response and feeling, but apart from that, it's almost only drawbacks. The Tokyo Marui next gen guns have the advantages from aeg, but also have some "recoil" (feedback), and are nice, but a bit pricey. If you just want a nice good aeg, I would also recommend CYMA premium.
