Chinese android box. I'll stick with my Firestick 4k max 2nd gen
Amazon completely wiped my 4k max ,with an update and I had offloading switched off , that can't happen with this box . If amazon would just leave us to do as we please with our sticks people wouldn't be moving away in their thousands. Keep digging that hole amazon .

This is awesome. I purchased the new firestick and the full ad on home screen really gets on my nerves. I wish I bought this option. Being such a new device I hope they push constant updates to the device to maximise its full potential.

I just showed my boy this product a few days ago. Looks good! Only downside is the 100mb ethernet and the 2.0 usb ports.
I received mine today. So far it's going good. I will update if something doesn't work.

Found the same device with a slightly different shell on aliexpress for less than $30. Definitely going to go that route. If all the apps I want work though I'll order another handful for the rest of the TVs in my house

Hi Dr. UK ....I've been using a firestick destroyer...named HOMATICS BOX R 4K PLUS..for a long time.. This is the best device I' ve ever used. A bit expensive but deserves it.

Does the G1 run in 32 bit mode or 64 bit mode? I see, the processor is 64 bit, but a lot of companies run Android in 32 bit mode.

Not bad but was just launched. Need to give it some time to see if they releas an OS update.
Is there a way to turn the HDR off. The screen gets way too bright on my tv.
Also I am seeing that the HDMI cec stopped working and I am not able to operate the box with the Samsung oled tv remote 2023 model. It did work out of the box but not sure how it stopped working later
Looks like a realy good option. Have you tested it with Kodi by any chance? Does Apple TV app come pre installed?
This G1 Androidtv Box 4gb/32gb is fast and smooth has a very strong wifi signal its up there with the high-power android boxes like the Nvidia shield/ Dune homatics/ RockTek and the latest Mecool box im very happy and pleased with this box easy to setup and for the price it's more economic then the over priced high end boxes believe me I tested most of the high end boxes the winner in my list is G1 ANDROID TV BOX #1
I wasn't happy with the iptv buffering on my nvivia tube. Have you used nvidia? And would you prefer this device?
Can you use the Wolf Launcher on this box and if so what Launcher Manager will work??

Mecool got a gigabit lan and it only £10 more 🤷🏻♂️
For £10 more, the Mecool KM2 Plus Deluxe has very similar specifications, but has 1GB Ethernet and a MicroSD card slot and a better remote control. Unfortunately, both boxes have only 2.0 USBs. Not into gaming and very pleased with my first month with the Mecool box which otherwise matches my Shield performance.
Mecool are trash pal, wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Got stung once by them never again.
I'm just sitting with tech that I no longer can access apps like live TV. The a p k store has basically very little apps. Where u go to get the content???
Is the Xfinity Stream available on this streaming device?
Can these devices just run of a hotspot from my mobile network? I don't have Wi-Fi as only watch prime/ utube &Netflix on a tablet 10+20h pm but finding watching more than sky.

Does this box have accessibility options for blind people? Amazon has voice view which reads everything that appears on the screen. Android phones have callback which does the same thing so would be good to know if this box has screen reader software like voice view or talkback
Wow I'm really excited for these. I just cannot understand how they thought it made sense to but anything less than a gigabit port, or 1 usb 3.0 or usb-c port, so we could convert. Total deal breaker for me, unfortunately. At least it has wifi6 but no gigabit! Lol
This is a killer and the good thing about this device is it like the Nvidia shield even though Nvidia shield is still Number 1 but both devices u can add more storage and record it like a dvr Awesome...

Video output is locked to DV or HDR10, no way to use SDR. Audio formats are not user selectable, either. This box has barebones options in general. Not ready for primetime at all.

Amazon will not be touching the OS for any of the current generation fire tv devices, so you have nothing to worry about. I would recommend this new G1 box but will be testing it more over the next few days
