Today I don't need to ask the name of painting. Two men watching the landscape, it was easy to conclude that it is a work of Caspar David Friedrich . As for Schumann's music, incredible!
These works were both interesting in different ways; the c minor seemed somehow less sophisticated. This quartet group is brilliant, each contributing to the conversations clearly but never intrusively-so necessary in chamber works. Thanks for this, it was entirely most enjoyable
@@Rickriquinho Great composers like Schumann, Wagner, Liszt, admired him and other great composers, like Stravinsky, did not tolerate him. All those composers; those who admired him and those who did not tolerate him, know more about music than we do, so I imagine it's a matter of appreciation.
I played both these quartets in my youth and both are wonderful but I actually liked his C minor one more even though it is a youthful work. This version of the C minor seems a little different from the one I recall.
I have to agree with you Bryan, but as listener rather than a performer. You don't mention what instrument you played, might make a big difference in your preference :-)........ my guess is piano :-)
@@osgrath -- True...but....Schumann too was highly respected and yet had two imaginary friends....and was considered finally to be somewhat mentally deranged. Cheers from Acapulco!

"Neubrandenburg" (c.1817)
(I looked it up on the internet; I hadn't known previously!) ;-)
I fell sure it is a man, woman and child walking away out of the painting. Who cares? The music is best.
通常我喜歡他的鋼琴曲子,但現在聽這四重奏也很0K的,感謝您的分享祝福大家

The truth: Schumann is up there with Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and Brahms.
And Berlioz. Schumann was a great admirer of him.
@@rodrigoalvarez7331 Berlioz is a third-class composer. How can't you see it?

Please don't omit Mendelssohn and Faure from your list.

@@DavidA-ps1qr I played the violin at the time. I sure miss playing in ensembles.
Where can I find a score for the C minor quartet?

Like Lizt,he also went cou- cou.
Hoyya Li -- Why do you say that Liszt went crazy?
@@steveegallo3384 Because he didn't. Liszt lived to a ripe old for the 19th century and was highly respected.
