I don't know if you will answer in time, but do you know if when I get off the ferry from Duke Point to Tsawwassen, do I just keep driving straight and i am on highway 17 ?
Excellent Video! You forgot to mention the Cook Strait Ferries between the North and South Island of New Zealand (one also carries railway wagons). Also other feedback to mention: - Turning off your headlights before entering the ship - this blinds the crew directing the cars. - Not using your mobile phone while driving on/off the ship - Having your drivers window down so deck crew can talk and communicate if required - Not setting your car alarm - Leave windows down slightly if carrying animals inside - Mention when checking in any special requirements like wheelchair access or animals inside - No running on car decks, walking only (running will not get you to the destination any faster!)
this is super useful! thanks so much for sharing. I'm a new driver & relocating so need to go on a ferry which I've never done before. Helps to know the best etiquette to follow!

The most interesting ferry crossing I have been on was M/S Amorella from tallinn-helsinki. On the ferry you can pre order alcohol, and someone decided to order 6 big packs of beer. The beer was put down on the cardeck and vehicles had to go around it. It caused quite a jam, but was indeed funny.
Hi Super Jello - Thank you for your reply. Never apologies for a fun username my friend! We need more humour in the world. Yes, that ole' Honda just turned over 332,000km (203,000m) All the best, Cheers Rick
Thank you quiambaomc for your comment. If there's anything further we can do or you have specific questions, drop us a note. Always happy to help out. All the best, Cheers Rick
Hi Ladonna - thanks for your comment. You have to get out to the coast so you can take a ferry ride...they're awesome. And say hi to your family too - how the sleeping? All the best, Cheers Rick

Hi oof kek - Thank you for your comment. You do indeed need a ferry to get to those French Islands off the south, central coast of Newfoundland, Canada my friend. There are also many other ferries in Canada and around the world. There are some brilliant ferries with spectacular journeys in and around the world my friend. If there is anything further we can do, drop us a note. Always happy to help. All the best, Cheers Rick
Hi Janez Novak - Thank you for your comment and funny. That works too, but getting off the ferry at the other end may be a challenge. ;0) All the best, Cheers Rick
Today’s modern vehicles now have automatic headlights so if I’m driving up to the booth in the early morning or in the evening I won’t be able to turn off my headlights.
Running daylights are standard on almost all automatic transmission vehicles and even standard transmission. Those lights are less bright than your low beam headlights, obviously high beams are going to be brighter. Running daylights are okay. There is no way to turn them off, unless the engine is turned off also. Running daylights are safe for ferry staff. The low and high beams are not.
$71.50X300 vehicles=$21,450 every 2 hours. $21,450X12 ferry trips a day=$257,400 in 24 hours. Wow! BC Ferries make big bucks. Rich company. These numbers above are an estimation, not the exact amount because each vehicle is a different size, length and weight. It’s roughly the minimum amount they make each day. Potentially they could make more than a quarter million dollars each and every day, running 24 hours straight. 😊🎉❤
Just moved to the PNW from Texas. Never drove a car on a ferry before, I found this video very helpful. Thank you!

I really appreciated this info. I've been afraid of this process, being an infrequent driver.

That was my most favorite...never have done that ever!!!

There’s one other terminal on B.C. ferries. Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay.
The real problem is the fares on such a ferry are just too high.
If I remember correctly, you need a ferry to get to st Pierre and Miquelon
