CONGRATULATIONS PETER ON 150k. Been watching since 2013 and your channel has helped my golf so much. So thank you, well done, and a massive congratulations!
Exactly what I need I think! Afternoon of short game and putting practice ahead using these drills. Particularly like the fact you've almost planned a full session for people, very useful Pete. Should do some more of these where you can. B team match tonight so will go through these beforehand. Great work 👍
I’ve been doing the “gate” drill since the 1970s. It’s a great drill. The last drill (6 stations) is new to me. I’ve done a variation of it, but never done it this way. Looking forward to it.
Great vid Pete. I thought all the drills were fantastic. I've never been any good at the "Gate Drill." I applaud anyone who can do that. I feel a little claustrophobic with my putter stuck between the two pegs. Keep up the great work!
Just spent an hour doing these drills with my 2 daughters who are 10&12. Just shortened the distance to the hole for them on each drill. We all really benefited and had the additional competition/pressure/fun of who could finish each drill first - usually them! Thanks - keep up the great content!
Congrats on 150k mate you deserve it and it should be way more... I have only been watching for 4 or 5 months but you are by far my favourite golf RUclipsr along with ScrathGolf
I did all of this today, and it felt great. Both this video and the new one on early extention has given me super good tools. I can't thank you enough. Especially since I've had a couple of rough lessons with zero progression lately. Thanls to this i might get back to shoting in the 80s again! Thank you Peter!
Very good drills and especially good to see the Lancaster GC putting green with Ashton Hall behind. I learned my golf there in the 1960's so doubly interesting. Wish I'd learned to putt a bit better at that age!
Been looking for some new putting drills and took these to the putting green on my lunch time - I enjoyed having something new to work on, but gave myself too much of a challenge lining up some tough ‘perfect putts’ but I’ll work on a slimmed down 45min version. Thanks Peter
I asked for more drills on your last video and I find this waiting in my subscriptions today... It is like you read my mind. Keep up the good work Pete and congrats on 150K!
Thank you Peter, 3,2,1 and the pace drills were fantastic for me today. I’m just getting back into my golf game and these were great for pressure putting.
When heat goes down a little I'll combine your chipping and putting drills into short game day and I'll keep you updated👍. I need to find an alternative for the target putting. I guess a sheet of paper with pins will do the trick. Thanks as always
This is helpful 👍 I’ve had to search for putting drills as I play of 14 and miss at least 9 putts under 2 yards or 3 putt due to pace control. Also before a round I spend 15 mins with my swings but just 2 mins with putts. I’m gonna change this cycle.
Congratulations on the 150 000 subscribers Peter! Well deserved! Awesome video, I am struggling with my putting, will most definitely give these drills a go! Thanks for the effort put into explaining them!
Yep, great stuff, Pete. I'm as guilty as so many other golfers who hit half-a-dozen practice putts before a comp and wonder why they three-putt so often!
Love the drills Pete! Going put them in to my practice routine right away. I've been looking for some more well rounded drills to help cut down on 3-putts and I think these will do just that.
Excellent set of drills Peter; I have used one or two of them - they can be hard to achieve but they sure do help I will have to have a go at all 5 at some point Cheers buddy!
Congratulations on 150k Pete I’ve been a follower since the second second hand club challenge and all I can say is there are some pretty darn good videos that you make
amazing drill only asked about putting earlier in the day and its here already you are a legend peter this will help loads on improving my putts.A congratulating on 150k marker
Awesome drills. Will try the gate next time. Could the distance between clubs and pegs be larger? Thinking that a slightly higher hcp might need some extra room 😊
Great video, loving the last couple on practice drills , really giving folks bits to work with and suitable for every standard. Congrats on getting 150k this sort of content will I’m sure get those subscriber numbers growing rapidly from here.
First - congrats on the 150k!! Love these drills; they cover so many important aspects/components of your putting and really are a challenge to hone skills as opposed to becoming a mindless task. Even better that they work as a session - thanks!
Great editing on that last practice procedure. lol. Really, they were all beneficial for me as I probably practice putting more than the range or chipping area's..
I have identified putting as a weaker area of my game. I try to do a variation of 3,2,1; I call it around the clock. I will definitely be adding these to my training in hope to drop a few shots. Cheers
man the last drill is epic... I did that for 3 consec days on the putting green... and last sunday I genuinely shaved off 7 strokes. I holed some good 15-20fters in one stroke...
My favourite is the ladder drill. 5 balls starting from only a couple of inches away from the cup and the 5th ball about 2 meters away. I build up my stroke and confidence in one hit. Big congrats on 150k subs.
A drill similar to your last tee peg drill I picked up from Brad Faxon. put 3 tee pegs, 1 at 6 ft 8ft and 10 ft along the same line and on opposite side of hole 3 tee pegs 1 at 6ft 8ft and 10 ft. 3 balls per peg, 6 ft are par putts, 8 and 10 ft are birdie putts. Try to break par....he said 1 or 2 over is still pretty good.
I have one of those boards around, somewhere. I think had something to do with putting/short game guru Stan Utley. If I ever tried the 3-2-1 drill, I'd be there so long my family would file a "Missing Person" report with the police!
I agree with the last drill is the best, but I use a different spacing and method. Five pegs, all about 20" apart and you have to make five balls at each before moving on-no removing the first few. The longest putt will only be about 8' and you will already be acquainted with the line by the time you may reach it. Restarting at the first station works best because you are constantly practicing putts that are less than 3' with some at the furthest two stations. Also, you will end a session with only missing a low percentage of putts, which psychologically is best for a golfers confidence.
Congrats Mr 150K Finch, well done you deserve the success! Great Putting drills, which I wish I could use! I find that after practising my putting for about 10minutes my Back just goes into spasm. I suspect that my Putter is too short (34" and I`m 6-1) or my posture is poor, or a combination of the two.
Bandit Baker, I had the same problem. Also about 6.1 and couldn't get myself to put more than about 15 minutes. I changed my posture to be more upright and switched to a 35" putter. Much better now. Also training your core (abs) will relieve some of those lower back problems as well.
Many thanks Roy for your input, I do the 5 Tibetans exercise routine daily and find that it helps with my flexibility and core strength. But suspect that at 66 my body is beginning to show signs of wearing out. But I am planning to go for a Putter fitting to see if a longer Putter and a more upright posture will help this old body of mine.
BIG congrats on 150K! Such a legend!!
Cheers boys
Golfholics you guys are great too keep it up

Excellent drills Peter, I use a couple of these with my son and it has helped him reduce the long distance 3 putts.
Awesome!
I did all of this today, and it felt great. Both this video and the new one on early extention has given me super good tools. I can't thank you enough. Especially since I've had a couple of rough lessons with zero progression lately. Thanls to this i might get back to shoting in the 80s again!

What is the distance for the short, medium and long putts. You have it for the short putts. Do you keep going back one to two club lengths?
Great drills Pete! Looks like the last one can definitely be taken indoors during winter using a Putt Out! Congrats on 150K!!
😃
Great video Pete, love all the drills. Just wish I had more time to spend on the putting greens.
The drills where you have to complete them or start over are maddeningly pressure packed!
Tell me about it!
Yep, great stuff, Pete. I'm as guilty as so many other golfers who hit half-a-dozen practice putts before a comp and wonder why they three-putt so often!
Haha you and me both!
Love the drills Pete! Going put them in to my practice routine right away. I've been looking for some more well rounded drills to help cut down on 3-putts and I think these will do just that.

Thanks Matthew
A drill similar to your last tee peg drill I picked up from Brad Faxon. put 3 tee pegs, 1 at 6 ft 8ft and 10 ft along the same line and on opposite side of hole 3 tee pegs 1 at 6ft 8ft and 10 ft. 3 balls per peg, 6 ft are par putts, 8 and 10 ft are birdie putts. Try to break par....he said 1 or 2 over is still pretty good.
Really good drills. Looking forward to testing myself! Thanks
Great stuff Chris, let me know how you find them
I will need to practice at 5am to enough room for these great drills, its shoulder to shoulder at the club.
Cracking Putting drills video Pete! Really good and solid practice routine. Keep up the good work!!

Holy shit. Peter Finch before the gains!

Good stuff! Let me know how you get on

If I ever tried the 3-2-1 drill, I'd be there so long my family would file a "Missing Person" report with the police!
Lol
Like this, I’ll certainly be including this drill into my practice 👍🏼
😊
This is just what I need! Definitely the part of my game that needs to improve. Congrats on the 150k! Time for the big giveaway!! :D
Yup! Coming up, keep your eyes peeled
Thanks Pete for the tips 👍👍

Mate well done in getting over the 150K bump in the road. Will have to give these a crack on the weekend.

Could u do a backyard drills video for people who can’t get access to course and have to hit out of their backs yard
Excellent video, I will start this tomorrow !
Congrats on the 150k
😃
great vid Pete and congrats on hitting 150k!!
Cheers bud
Love the vid and the pink golf shirt is 👌👌
😃
I like to put the targeting and the gate drill both together to help my putting
Try them all!!!
Fantastic video 👍
Great video, congrats on 150k, with the first drill would alignment sticks work just as well?
Yep, same principle
Congrats Mr 150K Finch, well done you deserve the success!
