It's amazing that all your stuff was stolen and you still managed to maintain a positive attitude!!! My trip would've been over at that point lol.

I was thinking about her great attitude too. You have a choice tho, sulk or move it and don't let it get the best of you. I would have had a good cry 1st tho! lol I love that she still went to the concert and enjoyed the rest of the trip with her man.
Trip would've been cut so short for me. lol
The Hotel has insurance and owes you, Call a lawyer and sue there ASS!!! They have cameras and you can push the issue and get ish DONE, don't give up.It might be someone from the Hotel..

+Shel Kalicharan unfortunately, hotels are not responsible if their cleaning staff take your personal items. They post this information on the hotel door, saying they are not responsible. If there is a vault in the room you must put you valuables in the vault or in you suite case and lock it. Never leave you valuables out. I travel a lot and cleaning staff will go through you stuff and take it. New Orleans as a lot of poverty and high crime. I just left the city.
My hotel was robbed at the Omni in NO during Essence Fest 2005... The Hotel's response was to ask me if I used the safe!!! But the great thing is I met my husband on that same trip. We've been married 4 years now. Everything does happen for a reason. Check to see if any of your insurance (renter/homeowner/if you used a cc to book hotel) might cover your loss.

Man that sucks! Smh. Getting your items taken is the worst, and it seems like the police is never there when you need them. I'm truly sorry Neiicy. Hopefully you get blessed with the money (there are some good deals on Micro Center's website)

We eat a lot of creole food down here and seafood is a major part of our cuisine. There are tons of restaurants where you could have found food that you'd like. Next year, if you're here you should ask a local or the hotels concierge where to eat.

Love your videos. So sorry to hear about your equipment. Whenever you purchase your new equipment, make sure you get insurance on it. With equipment that expensive and as much as you travel, insurance is a necessity. Keep up the great work!

Ok I just stumbled upon your New Orleans vlog video with Brian...and why did it have to be in my city where your things got stolen? Man I'm upset just watching it...and the sorry response from the hotel and Police is just unbelievable. ....I feel for you and I'm sorry that it happened to you...I'm a huge fan. I am so sorry for what happened to you but you know what God will provide you with more. I know those things were important to you and plenty of memories but you will receive so much more in the long run. Those things you can replace I am just happy you and your boyfriend were safe :)

Sorry that you had a bad experience in our city. The Monteleone is definitely not a choice for locals. Unfortunately, their attitude didn't surprise me. I hope you are not discouraged from coming back. I think you'd love Mardi Gras. Next time stay at the Ritz, W, or Saint hotel. I pray you are blessed with 100xs more than anything you lost. :) .....Btw, I was at that concert. I wish I would've seen you. I vlogged the whole thing

I'm sorry you had to go through that with someone taking your stuff. God will handle them. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a lot of thefts during Essence Fest with a lot of people coming in. I don't know if you noticed but during the concert, Roland Martin walked down your aisle in a white suite. So cool.

Yea you gotta be on alert on N.O. They will cut the straps on your purse with a razor when you're walking in a big crowd and do it so smooth you won't even notice until it's too late. Smh

I had an item stolen from me at work today. it was so annoying. no where as much as the value of the stolen goods from you. I'm glad that you remained calm. I remained calm for a whole but I then got heated cuz I'm thinking a colleague has stolen from me 😕

Hey little lady! Give us an up date on your stolen equipment. Like one subbie said all apple products have tracking features. Also did you have insurance? One more thing...the hotel ate responsible if you locked your door and housekeeping went in and stole. There are security cameras on the premises and they can be subpoenaed. Please let us know the updates. I definitely will not be staying at that hotel when I visit
Every hotel should have a safe in their closet I would recommend you to put your stuff in there every hotel you stay in

I think so too because if they couldn't provide the footage, it was someone who worked there. I wouldn't let it go just like that. They would pay up or give my stuff back.
Yes! I had a situation like that where the security actually went into our room and took stuff. Its crazy!
I was taught to never leave anything of value in the hotel room. My parents always said if I want to keep it, then keep it with me. It’s sad its like that, but that’s people.
Was there ever any resolution with your property being recovered?
That's messed up!!! I'm sure it didn't hit in yet since you were still managing to smile because I would be pissed. But that's great you didn't let it ruin your trip. I really hope something comes out of it to at least be compensated from the hotel or something

You should follow up and file a claim with the Hotels HQ or Corporate office. This happened to my Dad and he didn't let it go. He wanted to know how and why someone had that kind of access to his room. They eventually cut him a check in hopes of him letting it go. He left bad reviews and all. If you don't get any results from filing a claim against the hotels insurance then take it further but don't let the nonchalant front desk staff detour you.. If a Card was used to access your room and it was not due to any negligence on your part then I'm pretty sure the hotel is liable. It could have been worse like whomever could have come in your room while you all were there. Either way the hotel needs to figure out whats going on before someones life is actually in danger. Not only should you seek reimbursement but maybe escalating this will prevent it from happening to someone else. Sounds like an inside job. Check into that.

Glad you enjoyed yourself despite what happened to your things. I don't understand why the hotel didn't take charge of the situation. Most hotels would ask you if you want to take out any room insurance which covers you in situations like this. Anyway Great Vlog☀️

I am so sorry your things got taken. If you have homeowners or renter's insurance you could get them replaced. Not sure how it is in Canada though. I know God will work it out.

I can't lie it broke my heart when you said they stole your stuff. Like wtf? If it was me I totally would be ready to go. I applaud you for staying strong and enjoyed the rest of the festival. I seriously would sue the hotel. I'm from Louisiana btw and to know that happens in New Orleans is ridiculous. A friend of mine had his canon 5d mark iii stolen out of a parked car in New Orleans not too long ago. Did you try tracking your macbook?

I'm from New Orleans haven't lived there in years but my Momma Bros Sisters still live there. So sorry for what they did to you. Trifiling! So my daughter & 3 if her college friends went there a year ago stayed at the Marriott & someone went in there room stole items. They were brinh watched.
The Manage tried to say it could have been one of them stealing from eachother. So they called the police & come to find out one of the employees key card showed that they went in there room while they were out. That person was called back in, she didn't come back in so she was fired & got arrested later in the week. My daughter & her friends didn't have to pay for there stay. They didn't have expensive cameras or anything. You can't even trust the people the hotel's hire around holiday time or concerts. The hotels don't even do background checks on those people they hire real quick. So sorry that happened but you have a good attitude you didn't let it ruin your trip good on you. God bless you!! neiicey you need to heckle them until they do something about it you paid them and TRUSTED them enough to stay they need to PAY UP your stuff got stolen out of THEIR hotel, they need to be pulling cameras takin finger prints checking staff members bags like hell no that's 7 THOUSAND dollars worth of stuff somebody needs to pay!

Don't they have cameras in the hallways of the hotel?
They have to have that on camera...at least be able to see who was in the hallway..but I never get that comfortable in any hotel room to leave expensive stuff in there. I am distrustful of the staff even entering unless I am there. They knew you were gone so it probably was staff or someone working with someone on staff to note when guests are gone. Thats way too much ish to lose. I'm irritated and it wasn't even mine *lol
