There's a beautiful answer from Rajarshi Nandy from those people who are seeking guidance from a guru of a non-Indian or non-Hindu background such as myself: let nature be your guide.
First step should be waking up before sunrise, do it for a year, no mantras, no nothing, keep it whatever happens just do it consistently for a year. And see what happens. There may things that change there maybe not. Learn the basics, live the basics, eventually the teacher comes when the student is ready.

namaskaram people, i am practicing shambhavi maha mudra from past 2 years and its has been a tremendous exprience. but i wud like to tell u that shambhavi is not n initiation or diksha, it is a consecration of our body for the higher goal. it is said to be as diksha/initiation in normal terms so that we may know its importance and these are not my words or understanding, it is been said by sadhguru himself! even i use to think it as. so plz don t be confused or confuse others on this path, but also remember tat who ever is practicing shambhavi mahamudra or had been initiated into can consider him/her self lucky.

Why are people getting initiated in the first place and they don't even know what it's doing to them? If you are a seeker, you should be seeking and asking the right questions. There are so many big organisations out there today that offer "Initiations" To be clear I am not saying that Isha is one of them. However, I am saying that it is your responsibility to seek out the answers and explore. Getting initiated by the wrong Guru can make your life miserable if you do things naively.

@@yoeyyoey8937there's a common practice call shambhavi mudra in kriya yoga where it's the same but dont turn your neck upward just roll your eyes and gaze into the eyebrows intensely but it's not possible for everyone and this is why there's also a different one that is shambhavi mahamudra where the focus is natural Sadhguru didn't create it or something like that and initiation is like a push start if you are initiated some begening years of sadhana is already done through it and you go deeper into it otherwise it will take a long time

THIS IS A GENERATION OF SCIENCE AND LOGIC. While many of those who are initiated into shambavi are falling apart from the path like me, your videos are helping to understand and walk the path. Though these doesn't sound So logical to most of the people, only those who felt and touched the dimension beyond body and mind during Shambhavi initiation can understand and relate to this video. Sadhguru gives shambhvi kriya yog diksha not shambhvi mantra diksha . But results are same of both dikshas . Mantra diksha takes shorter time to yield result . Kriya yog diksha takes more time than mantra diksha .

@@viswateja8712 Yeah, what happened to me is also hard to explain, but I was apparently born into some sort of voodoo cult, in South America, in which my mom, grandma, and the maid, were witches, but nobody really knew, and they would sometimes use their abilities for bad things, or to experiment and learn. A couple years ago, my mom asked me if I would want to know if I was ever abused. I said yes. I thought she was simply just going to tell me something, but she said she had a "gift" for me and then touched me (I supposed it might've been the voodoo witchcraft equivalent of sparsha diksha). Yeah, I'm not really Hindu, but she left me to my devices (nobody teaching me anything about any of this stuff), so I don't know where else to find information on such things (knowledgeable witches and shamans are impossible to come by). The touch "gift" she gave me basically threw me into an immediate state of psychosis, or something. I immediately started having visual flashes of memories from the age of 5, and before, of the maid molesting me after drugging me and hypnotizing me to pass out, and sacrificing a chicken. Also, of my mom channeling the energy from her orgasms into me (making me feel as if I'm being watched by someone (when I'm actually alone), and as if walking on air, while my 3rd eye pulsated (before I even ever heard of any of this stuff). Also, memories (these I hadn't necessarily forgotten) of my being falsely accused of raping various people in my life (girls I never even touched, but had turned down when they asked me to have sex with them). It took me around two years to recover all the memories and tie the dots together. There were even memories of my having the ability of aerokinesis for a few hours one day when I was very young. There was apparently also some telepathy through the time-space continuum. But yeah, in those two years after the "gift", I experienced a lot of synchronicities, MAJOR ones, bordering on manifestation. Like, a couple times I wished for a shooting star and they appeared. Another time I called out to Thor (no lighting, rain, or thunder in the sky), and lighting struck right by my house. I another time, while watching Family Guy on TV, my 3rd eye started pulsating, so I asked a question, thinking that I was connected to the spiritual realm, and a major synchronicity in the TV show answered me. Another time, I called out to God for help and my toe then immediately hit the TV remote switching the channel to a preacher saying what I apparently needed to hear at the moment. It's all apparently subsided now, although, I still feel my 3rd eye pulsating every day, which I believe is my mom telepathically probing my thoughts (she said she had a shaman right a book of all my thoughts). She had asked me permission to know my thoughts, and I said okay, but this was before I realized telepathy was real. Anyhow, ultimately I feel like a rape victim, a gangstalking victim (repeatedly framed of being a rapist), and an experimental object, toyed with and left to my own devices. Wow, so being initiated and being given different abilities are two different things? I didn't realize that. I hope to learn more thru this channel I found last night. Do you know where else I can learn more?

@@viswateja8712 Oh heck, I can't travel (I think the government would take away my disability check if I tried to), was never really able to hold a job and earn money (am on government disability), even getting to the store in my city is a challenge for me. I've already asked my family to send me overseas, but they refused. I keep asking them to teach me their religion or what it is that they did to me (to not leave me oppressed and ignorant), but they act as if I'm just crazy and making it all up in my head. Anyhow, I don't care if Swamiji was caught in sexual acts (if that really was him). I know one doesn't have to be celibate to have such abilities. But yeah, thanks for the suggestion.

I received initiation through a picture of neem karoli baba which came to life years ago. I prayed to him and did a ritual asking for the gurus glance. To my great surprise the picture literally came to life and was no longer a static picture of a frozen image anymore. When he did this I saw a light in his face and even to this day I see this light in things getting stronger or weaker according to my inner condition. Even ten years later I see it everyday no matter how I live my life I see it.
