Your video editing/communication style and scientific testing, the efficiency... awesome video, thank you! I'm going to watch all of your videos and I'm only really here to learn about graphene coatings
I was on the fence about what products to use, coming across your You Tube channel and watching this gave me more confidence in what I want to put on my vehicles. I will be using this product because of the in-depth analysis that you did and why I am subscribed too. Thank you for the time you put into this.
This is one of the most underrated coatings on the market! I’ve used is on a few of my own cars with great results! I’m glad to see it getting some attention here!
These are cool tests, thanks for all the time and work you put into them! I'm really looking forward to seeing if the C6 hydro lite coating can do as well as this ethos max graphene coating. Is it going to be a while before that test comes out? Subscribed and waiting. 😅
Love your tests. One differentiator that I wonder about is how coatings stay clean or resist "clogging". I think waxman vids did a side-by-side test on a door with DIY Detail 3 year and Mohs Evo and the DIY was needing waterspot remover while the Gyeon was still beading. Not sure if there is a way to test it, but that's one of the remaining unknowns between coatings.
Thanks! I have been thinking about how to best test this, would definitely need some kind of standardized contaminants mix, but testing water spots is pretty easy, could even keep it consistent by dissolving minerals in distilled water. It may be something I add later.
@@stanleyds88 sheepstar did a quick review and I found Acacia Detailer from the Philippines just did an actual coating on a car. Still waiting for updates
@Dmitry's Garage - Great review, thanks. I'm new to ceramic coating. I've watched hours (days) of reviews / videos / install videos. I have a new pearl white RDX. What would be your #1 rec for a beginner for a coating? I'm motivated to try a true ceramic coating like this, but I'm also very tempted to go the easier and full-proof route of a spray-on ceramic graphine-infused product, like TW Flex or Adams Graphine Spray and just apply it every 3-6 months and be done with it. Can I get your honest opinion? Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed the video =). It’s not too hard to use, you should just play with a small area first where you have good light and easy visibility (i.e. trunk lid) so you get a feel for how quick it flashes in your environment. It definitely is a bit more tricky if it is your first time though.
Nice review Dmitry. I haven't done a full ceramic coating on my vehicles yet. I am still old school and used good quality sealants on my vehicles. This coating looks amazing. My wife just got a new Subaru Outback and this coating looks like it might be the perfect coating for her daily driver. Can you use it over PPF? We got half her front hood PPF'd because we have a ton of rocks on the roads here in Colorado. It's not if, it's WHEN you get a chip. She had the car three weeks and got a big rock crack in the front windshield already! It's crazy how many rock chips you get here, CRAZY. They mount up on your car almost daily. I have a 370Z that was perfect six months ago. Now it has dings and chips all over it and I have only driven it about ten times in the past six months. Most of the roads here are in horrible condition. This might be my first adventure into putting a ceramic coating on!
@@j1nftw1n I didn't enjoy applying it at all. It tacks up fast, tacks up your rag so you pretty much have to use a new one for just about every section. I understand now why they say it's for advanced users. This wasn't my first rodeo either.
Dmirty - the coating looks amazing - for the durability test did you put one or two layers on the black panel. Did Ethos design this to be a one or two layer coating?
Definitely looking at DIY Detail products in near future too. They haven't sent me any coatings, but I'll probably source my own. They did send me some other stuff to check out.
I've been wanting to try the Ethos for awhile but I already have 2 coats of Gyeon Pure EVO on the truck and topped with a single layer of NV Nova JET for the extreme hydrophobics. Doing well after a year. I have Car pro SiC on the other vehicle that's still going strong after a year. If either fails then Ethos will be next unless something can top this.
Good to hear the Gyeon and CarPro are working well for you. They do make good products. Definitely consider Ethos in the future as I've been happy with everything I've played with.
I've been watching your videos, and they are educational and eye-opening. As a new car owner, I would like to know what I can do to help maintain my car's paint. I have a silver-colored car with an open garage (no roof), it is ceramic coated, and I currently use Soft99 Fusso Coat wax. Could you recommend any products I can use to protect my paint? @@j1nftw1n pretty slick. I made sure to 99% ispropol alcohol and a 30 pack of fresh microfibers to ensure the bond. The water sheets like glass. Only coated 1 time but it's been prime!
Thanks for the detailed analysis. I have a torch red Z06 coming in the next few weeks, waiting for it to be built. I was going to use what I've used in the past, blackfire Black edition ceramic coating as it's great in my AMG. I can't find it anymore. Then i thought Adams advanced graphene, but have seen a few people that had strange spotting occurring and that scared me away from it. This coating from ethos sounds great, especially since the car is red. What are your thoughts, would you use this on your Corvette?
I think all three of those products are good. I used the Adam's advanced on my C8 and it's still working great. The Ethos Max is my favorite at the moment given the extreme durability combined with all the other great qualities. I suspect the spotting is likely from high spots not wiped up during application. The tiger striping I touched on in the video is an example of this. Coatings in general have risks of high spotting, it's important to wipe everything up in time, reapply a bit more coating to dissolve high spots as needed. Spots left to cure may require some light buffing, some can come off with hand buffing.
Very interesting about the UV protection not being a thing at all. I always heard coatings marketed and said to have UV protection and protection from oxidizing and fading paint. Would something like a carnauba wax provide actual UV protection? Just subscribed and found out from Jamie’s channel. Very thorough, objective testing!
All these things are just very thin layers, including waxes We are talking microns thick, truly microscopic. Plus many of these protectants are consumable, they degrade as they protect, so a tiny layer wouldn’t be effective very long. However, I do think they can protect from some elements of oxidation. For example by keeping water, grime, salt, etc… off your paint. Water combined with UV is more effective at negative affecting materials than just UV. So in that sense it still helps, just not really by blocking UV directly like a clear coat.
Ethos has really impressed especially after WaxMode did his reviews on both Ceramic/Graphene matrix coatings. May try their EZPZ one as my first but beading doesn't look promising from the few videos I've seen.
Any plans on having a look into the ne C6 ceramic hydro lite "DIY"? Im really considering this coating for my daily and would love to hear your thoughts.
Hey Dmitry, I’m looking to do a ceramic coat on my Jeep that gets off-roaded once a month, what do you recommend I’m looking for a good value budget friendly, thinking cerakote? What’s your opinion, thanks 🙏
Dmitry, every one says you take care of a last step protection to make it last.. proper maintenance etc... your tests show abrasion to determine how long a coating or sealant could last... so my question is, if abrasion removes the coating, wouldn't washing your car less, make a coating last longer....?
Very curious to see the EZPZ coating from them with your testing and durability of it….looks like even i can handle that one and have confidence not messing anything up after all the prep work
If Ethos claims this Max 7 year coating is the toughest on the market, then why is their Graphene Pro rated at 10 years? and the Max cost more than the Pro? I'm guessing they mean Max is the toughest non Pro coating? I want to get 1 of the 2 but I'm confused.

The Adams couldn't stand up to 300 passes, while this product survived the highest scored test of 1,000 washes and hardly took a dent even at 3,000 washes, though I don't score that high as explained in the video.
