Aside from the binocular device, I've never seen these other devices and techniques that appear to be valuable in determining the best setup for each person.
The way your country doing the measurement really amazed me. My country were too minimalist for all the exact calculation. Even I'm not an optometrist but I could tell them what were the steps they were missing. It's my experience. I told them don't fool around with my eyes because they are too expensive. If you weren't qualified then I will not do business with you. Most probably they got offended & I just walk off. Don't toy around with my eyes.
In the states, where I dispense glasses at a Clinic in Los Angeles we don't have the time for perfection, here is all about rush hour, patients are busy and need to get out, so we use markers for progressive and bifocal measurements as wells as the pupilometer for PD distance and near. It can be stressful to enjoy a job when everything is rushed, and have no time for errors.
Makes perfect sense every time I get my glasses done I tell them flat out I want the panto put in and make sure it has a face wrap to it and some places look at me if I had two heads and like this is how it's supposed to be done I had a couple of places say that oh they'll do the adjustments after everything was put in I just like no you got to adjust it first to your face as how I'm going to wear it then you do the dotting system
There are varying degrees of the manufacturing process and materials used so pricing depends on those factors. There are frames that are $5 to manufacture for sure but they typically aren’t being sold for $350. Most of the time opticals selling glasses didn’t buy them for the manufacturing price either…they paid more so the company who made them makes profit. And then for optical to make a profit, they mark it up. That’s just business.

Really informative video... But I just want to say frames are way too overpriced. How is it you can buy better quality frames off Aliexpress for 20x less compared to an optical store?
When you're good and have experience, you don't need to get that fancy. Now, don't get me wrong, if you want to impress your customers/patients than you go to all the bells and whistles you can get your hands on. Of course, it took me about 5 years to get my 10K hours under my belt to feel this comfortable.
That's what I'm thinking by the time I'm ready to leave I have to stop off at the ATM again, don't get me wrong I need a good pair of glasses but not as the price of a car.
I just spent over $800 on glasses and need to take them back again and also take back the readers I also bought because the focus is still not right. Perhaps if they had done all these extra measurements I would have the proper lenses. The frames were only $120 the lenses were the expensive part.

Wow how intensive . I went to Walmart to get my prescription eye glasses they did not do all that measuring I am not happy with my glasses had to go there already twice I give up now , they not very friendly .🥺
I would barely trust an Engineer with all those measurements, let alone an uneducated eyeglasses saleswoman. In the end there's no way to check all that crap after you receive your glasses. That's just marketing
Very nicely explained about marking on new lens 👍
Perfect way of taking measurement for fitting a lens.
Thanks

its for opticians that cant see well so they need extra gridding

In my experience the only tools they use is a small ruler and a marker pen, and I am buying a RM3K eyeglass
@@shaf3006 exactly. The height tools are for opticians who are very new

That doesn't justify a plastic frame being sold for $350 when it probably costs less than $5 to manufacture it.
.
right
Exactly, i recently i just bought a plastic frame for $5 and fit a branded $300 lens, looks perfectly fine

Should we decrease even I progressive
1 mm for every 2 degree of pantoscopic tilt?
this varies. i run 1-3 degree never a problem
I had my eyes tested at my local opticians a few months ago [Vision Express U.K] they still use a marker pen to mark out the pupil distance
Il y a une technique qui permet d'arriver au meilleur résultat
Thank you. I wish my optician would have measured this carefully.
What you see are beginner tools being uysed for finding OC. where is the oan tilt ruler? not here because they are displaying beginner tools
Great job this is very helpfull👌
From where we can buy dispensing equipment shown in this video
i wanna see how to make segment D top flat bifocal
Thank you excellent explanation 🇨🇦🌏🎄♥️
Great video but it would be even more useful if you put links to the products in the description
How do you set the pupil distance in the reading glasses and ffa = 0? By distance or near distance pd?
Hello !!
where can i get a ruler same as what shown in the time 02:10 , any body can help ?
Im not too sure but try the "hoya" website

Is this a reading glass? Hm?
fantastic collection
Well my glasses place isn’t so fancy all they do it take a picture and that’s it
if it is an optikam picture with a position of wear device on your frame (the thing with the green dots, its more accurate if used correctly)
Using an ipad with the correct software is actually more accurate than using a pupillometer, "fingers" or either of the other methods 😎

Eso si es buen servicio
Was i the only one that found the chair bit funny?😂
Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣
搞咁多多餘既野去度啲冇乜用既數據,不如比多啲心機去驗真啲個度數同配對貴啲既鏡片仲好啦,我唔覺得咁樣度個高同pd會準過手動去度好多囉
I bet my measurements with an old wooden PD stick and a lot of experience are just as accurate if not more.
