- Japanese Sword Expert, Toru Uchikado is back on Experts Try with Kaz Kobayashi, a Japanese sword fight choreographer, and Katana Expert. On this episode of Experts Try, they'll be recreating moves from the popular game "Nioh 2".
Set in Japan during the late 1500s, most of Nioh 2 storyline chapters are a prequel to Nioh, while the end chapters of the story take place after the first game's last storyline following the Siege of Osaka. Players take the role of a character named Hide (秀, Hide), a half-yōkai referred to as a "Shiftling" whose appearance and gender is decided by the player. Hide's journey through the Sengoku Era begins when they befriend Tōkichirō, an ambitious merchant seeking out Amrita, and Mumyo (無明, Mumyō), a demon hunter of the Sohaya group, eventually playing a critical role in the rise and fall of the warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Kashin Koji serves as the main antagonist, a mysterious entity linked to a powerful yōkai known as Otakemaru, who obstructs Hide's progress at every turn and is responsible for manipulating many of the events that take place through the game. One key item featured in the game is the Seven-Branched Sword, here known as the Sohayamaru, the sword used to slay Otakemaru in the past, and the namesake of the Sohaya.

I feel like the Japanese sword actors and like Martial artists would be a good collab after seeing this.
I can totally see that happen
I would love to see them re-enact Izuna Drop and Beyond Infinity.
*Experts Arena*
just get Noah and Gemma in every other videos, that'll be fine
Had a blast shooting these episodes in Japan! The question is...what do you all Gamologists want to see next!?🥷
Try the game For Honor or Devil May Cry it would be awesome if you re create those moves from those games
Thank you, please do some more!

@@tallulahpantages9073 wrong video to ask
I’d like to see you guys recreate moves from Genma Onimusha
If Nioh ever gets a movie adaptation, I honestly want these guys to play Hide ngl
wake up samurai we have a movie to watch .
5:35 first of all what a cool name they gave this move.
5:50 Being Kaz's Shadow - this is the coolest most threatening thing I've seen in a while ! It's like a phantom Warrior Spirit.
Nicely done Toru!
Nioh 2 has the most deep and awesome combat there is in an action RPG.
Yep in any game. Only absolver might be close
Tecmo had been doing very deep combat in games since NES era with Ninja gaiden in 1988 so I won't expect less from them
@@tomasdelcampo2 Absolver is so underrated tbh. It may not have the greatest story or plot, but I've yet to find a game with a more satisfying melee system.
@@songyani3992 yea I thought ninja gaiden was from 2007 then realized it was 2004 and then the 80's apparently. Ninja gaiden was the craziest shit ever lol

Now call Demon Hunting experts to recreate Switchglaive moves
The "Reverse Impact" is actually a very iconic move called "無明逆流れ", and it was originally coming from a classic samurai comic "Shigurui". the reason why they add it into the game is more like a nostalgia purpose.
the attack may look no sens or funny if you only see people who imitate it in real life,
"But believe me, the story behind this is not even fun at all."
Ever since the last video with them I’ve been waiting for a Nioh 2 video.
This guys are genuinely the coolest samurai I have ever seen.
You did a fantastic job replicating the moveset from one of my favorite games of all time. I think the moveset was designed to be a little more 'over the top' to make the game enjoyable, but maintained some elements of realism. You both did great showing what it would take to actually do these moves irl :D Well done!

Dante's classic rebellion combo
*OMG IT DOES LOOK LIKE THAT*
I love Kurama Sword Dance, it took me like 40 tries to get, you damn right i'm gonna use it
Man katana has so many hidden moves.
I killed yoshitsune over 100 times and had no luck to get this skill but anything else, and I wanted just the kurama sword dance😢😢😢😢
But on the good side, I could kill him naked now, just with the katana in my sleep since I know all his moves.
I've played 100% of Nioh and then did first playthrough of Nioh 2 entirely with sword(until I got the Splitstaff) and I've only had one of the special skills unlocked. I was watching this like, wtf?
Katanas are sick ✊🏾
Swords in general are badass
@@Peruvianbean yes
@@Peruvianbean yeah but these swords...those things cut like butter
@@phantomvulpe791 are they that sharp?
@@Thehunter905 that were invented because of Mongols cause japan wanted to destroy their armor if I am not wrong
I really love the dedication for some of the more very clearly fantastical moves. Maybe you guys should continue more with the odachi & Spear movesets next? LOL
For next game, I really wish for DMC5 mainly for Vergil & Dante, especially since Vergil is a master iado / quick draw techniques.
AHHH MY REQUEST IS HEREEEEEEE. LOVELY WORK GAMEOLOGY , TORO and KAZ!!!!
You guys are so cool recreating those moves. You guys are so amazing! More of these two recreating sword moves, I enjoy them very much.
So glad you tried some moves from Nioh 2, thank you for brining my favorite game series to life!!!
Great job! This was super fun!
You should see if people can recreate the other weapons. I'd love to see someone using a splitstaff or dual swords.
loved the series! this need more attention man! this guys are so accurate!
I was wondering if we were ever going to get to this game, hell yeah, fantastic job recreating the moves too! Amazing to watch professionals pull it off irl!
Martial artists Recreate Yakuza moves & heat actions, please have the bat nunchunks twirling.
I want to see the "Essence of neck choke" from Thug lol
There are already multiple of those. Look for them.
Wow! Awesome job! Combat in Nioh is so smooth and flashy
Seeing y'all pull off these moves is so god damn cool great video
Always love these videos.
Great job 👍 can't wait for the next video keep up the good work

Yaaas!! I watch livestreams of this sword gameNioh2 . Very good Gameology.keep up the good work I never missed one for 2 years
Wow this was a joy to watch...now I'm gonna go play Nioh. Also shout out to the men reenacting these moves mad respect for you.
Is it your first time playing? Let us know if you need help.
Finally, a Nioh video!! 🙌👏
This was so freaking cool man!
Love these guys.
I always enjoy these guys
Amazing work, This looks very good. Man I wanna learn the sword after watching this
10:16 i love that spinning motion with sword while putting it at the back...
I think this is so dope. I love see these videos.
Amazing video, congrats guys
Hope we see more like this ! Good video
I will say at least the *idea* behind Reverse Impact has merit: it's like flicking a finger by holding it back for a moment. You apply pressure behind the object meant to be in motion, so once you release the block, that pressure flings the object forward suddenly and fiercely. I don't think it works in a combat scenario, but it looks cool and has a sort of improvised Jackie Chan-esque action feel.
Amazing!
Thanku gamelogy i request this on comments finally you delivered thanku and massive respect
THIS IS AWESOME

Did they ever recreate the heat actions and or fighting styles from the Yakuza series? I would love to see that happen.
Microwave heat action
@@Denninja Essence of Mad Dog Demon would be nice to see lol
Awesome video, love the game. You guys are the coolest people I know right now lol
Would love to see the dual sword move set performed.
This was really cool man! I am actually surprised how much of it was doable for a fantasy game like Nioh.
7:29, Mr.Editor, thumbs up for this one 😂😂😂
Great job ! I really laughed at the rocks throwing lol !
This is awesome
Both guys did amazing
I think you both did great job performance. Those modes are extremely fast and a little fancy so good job!
Finally ! Thank you, sick video, they should recreate odachi and dual katana movesets low/mid/high stances and some cool skills as well
It hurts to see all those ki recovery missed… but anyway amazing video !
This is so fucking cool to see recreated!
Both of you need to be in the new ghost of tshushima movie the are making. Charismatic and hugely talented. I love these videos and makes me want to visit Japan!
Very cool!
I'd love to see these guys talk about the sword combat in the Way of the Samurai series.
Very nice performance congratulations!! :) Regarding Severing Spin, the technique used to spin the sword is inspired by Wakayama Tomisaburo's technique, he played in a popular tv show of the 1970s called "Oshi Samurai" where he often used this technique for noto, though he is more famous for Kozure Okami. He is the brother of the famous actor Shintaro Katsu (original Zatoichi main actor ) and studied the sword. All the best.
Finally!
love it
did they react to it first?? but man this game is so good... TY for remembering them
Now we have to see Japanese Sword Experts recreate and react to Roronoa Zoro's 1/2/3/No Sword Style techniques (3 obvoiusly being recreated with 2 Katanas and a Tanto i guess to even see if it works?) and also reacting to some of Zoro's best battles from One Piece (Like Zoro vs Mihawk)
I feel motivated more than ever
Not sure if anyone would've mentioned any of this but here's my thoughts for some of nioh's skills
Reverse impact - reason for sword in the ground and pulled out, in a fantasy setting, could be useful in a sandy or dusty terrain to impede vision. Fantasy allows the suspension of disbelief or a legit explanation.
Severing spin - the reason for the sword being pulled out after is more so game mechanics in returning to an idle position with the weapon.
Sacred bird cry - the Sohayamaru resemble the seven branched sword, the dagger on the back is that sword after the blade is shattered. Through game events it's restored somewhat but is still sheathed as a dagger which is why it appears to materialise from nowhere.
Kudos to the masters! Welcome back! Those movements seemed impossible!
Great video, could you please try the dual katana techniques. That will be awesome.
Iai explanation will make a Nioh fan goosebumps
I think you both did amazing! Nioh 2 is the best souls like game , and it have a lot of weapons you can do .
Next Dual katanas!
I'm surprised that you did all the dlcs too 😍😍😍
Finally we get Nioh 2!
Great work ^^ It would be amazing to see you guys recreate moves from "Samurai Champloo"!!
Love Nioh.
Didn’t know how a game like nioh would work not sort of an anime yet I had to look favorite game and all you did well considering the anime like moveset
11:22 that Arigato was so satisfying
Cool
True and Through looks like Saito Hajime's signature move in Samurai X
Very Good 👍❤🙏
What a cool guys! 👍
Come sempre un super mi piace per voi due!!👏👏💪💪🤟🤟
You could make part 2 with dual swords. Would be cool to see that.
Could you guys do a video on the double hatchets techniques
The best action game! Waiting for Nioh 3.
great video ! how do you like the idea to take tricks with tonfa from nioh 2? people would be interested.
It was interesting watching the movements in real life.
Awesome video! Stoked to see them try out some of those insane moves! Part 2 when? xd
Now I want to see the martial artists react/recreate the gauntlet moves, maybe add the bare handed attacks in there because, why not
martial artist, weapons expert, gun expert reacts to DMC V
do kusarigama moves. that will be so fun
and for other weapons types too. :)
🔥
i hope we can get them reacting to gameplay of it.
This video makes you realize how badass the nioh character is
"Reverse Impact" reminds me of Irako Seigen from Shigurui
God i love nioh
