I just think Gypsy just doesn't know how to have meaningful relationships when her mother isolated her from everyone to hide the fact she wasn't sick and then to have a boyfriend online and then being physical for a short time to help unalive her mother later on messed her up socially. Following with her being in prison for most of her adult life and then to just move in with a stranger that she barely saw for a year, she probably had high expectations for the relationship without realizing what living with him is like. Hearing she is back with an ex (supposedly) I can only imagine she will keep having issues with building strong relationships when she doesn't even have a foundation for herself yet.
I knew an older woman who passed away due to a long battle with an$@xia. She was found at home surrounded by tons of food she had horded for decades. She was maybe 65lb. It was incredibly tragic. Food hoarding can be very serious. This poor woman had enough food in her home to feed dozens of people but she still passed away due to malnutrition

@@dfuk66 It's actually not uncommon with people who grew up during starvation, it's just that the anorexia is commonly not about being thin to look good. It's about not eating so you or your loved ones can eat. They live in constant fear of starvation.
The latest media update claims that the "food hoarding" referred to cartons of takeout that Ryan kept in the fridge, including the leftovers of meals they provided on the set of the Lifetime series. So she blew that up into "food hoarding", knowing that the public associates hoarding with those reality shows where people live in a landfill.

“Hoarding food” Well…how much food did she think it took for a person of his size to maintain that size?? And define which expiration date, because there’s a difference between the sell by date and the eat by date.
A person of his size is also likely to snore loudly and is likely to be hot to sleep next to, those are just side effects of having so much mass on your body
She's bound to have learned scamming techniques from her mother. Clearly, she became used to attention. We will hear drama incessantly from her. She needs extensive therapy to learn how to connect with others in a healthy way.
I think she wanted the relationship bc it’s something she never had before & he obsessed with her which gave her a confidence boost. Since she didn’t have normal relationships growing up, she was probably in the stage of fantasizing about how great he was & was only infatuated with him in the end. She’s only ever known one lifestyle outside of jail & it was very strict & controlled. I hope she takes some time for herself to learn who she is soon because now that she’s out of jail, she deserves at least that.

I still absolutely hate that you can get rich and famous in the US if you just kill someone. Do something stupid or criminal and you will get a documentary, interviews and all the money that comes with it. That really sucks!
This is such a different and complex situation. If gypsy hadn’t killed her mom, it’s likely that she would’ve died at the hands of her mom. She had tried running away before, the mom had law enforcement convinced that Gypsy was much younger than she was and also ill, so any time Gypsy tried to leave, she’d be taken back
She killed her mother. She is a murderer. She had internet, she could have gotten help. She ruined two people's lives and I am not saying they were innocent. That is not okay.
Gypsy Rose is going to give us at least a decade more of unnecessary and escalating drama. Its all very sad because the dysfunction is baked in, it seems and she should be in therapy. Instead she's very male and self centered. Unless she gets her stuff together with some serious introspection and self work, I fear she'll be in trouble again.
But it's fun to watch, isn't it?
I think her claims were meant to humiliate him. She knew he was a big guy when she married him, then she shamed him for issues a lot of overweight people struggle with: food issues, possible sleep apnea and night sweats. ANY mature person would be able to adjust to these VERY common things, or at least address these issues instead of just dumping him.

Her entire life has been abuse and then prison to which in interviews she has said prison has been positive and 'freeing' for her which I think really puts into perspective the life gypsy lived and the trauma endured. Despite her grown age, I imagine that she is developmentally stuck and still has SO MUCH catching up to do. She's also incredibly vulnerable and I think her husband took advantage of that, whether he was fully aware or not, dating a severely abused woman who went to prison for murder is not normal and I would be suspicious of anyone who meets and "falls in love" under those circumstances. I also think Gypsy is experiencing real and true life for the first time and I think it's very expected that she is going to--quite frankly--fuck up and be messy and be weird. What she really needs is to find normalcy that isn't in the limelight and to work on processing her trauma and certainly not date or have a reality tv show.
I know Gypsy suffered a lot but people treat her like she’s a hero or incapable of doing anything wrong.

I feel like she left Ryan because she saw she might have a chance with the guy she really likes, period. Any of the reasons she is giving are just her excuses. That said they both got together for the wrong reasons, obviously. You don't marry someone you met while in prison, barely know, and then just move in as a couple and try to make it work. I think she married him to make it look good to her parole board, and he married her because he thought she would be dependent on her but then she wasn't.

First of all, in this response, I am going to assume everything in the story as reported is true. Obviously, it might not be true but for argument's sake, let's assume that it is.

And he got upset when it was thrown away. That is a very clear sign of neurosis. Nobody's diagnosing anybody here, but it is a clear sign.
As to the point about "you and I both know" that could mean any number of things. She could be alluding to something from private life that she shouldn't be referencing.
Finally, about the snoring and body heat thing, yes, you're right. That is something you can work through. And maybe it speaks to GR's immaturity that she didn't try. However, it is undeniably that these kinds of issues can only be worked out if you want to work them out. And it's safe to say, IMO, that GR just wasn't that into him.
To be clear, I think she thought he was good-looking enough when she married him, but the food hoarding thing and the subsequent fight (again assuming it's all true) just turned her off completely. And who can be surprised at that? With her history with mentally ill people, why wouldn't she immediately pack her sh*t the moment it became clear that this guy has got issues?
I don't blame her at all. I don't blame him either, mind you. Sometimes it just doesn't work out, and it's far better to be honest with how you feel and move on.

I was actually expecting the gossip around the situation to be more troubling. I do think that food hoarding is a symptom of a psychological issue pretty much 100% of the time. No stigma intended there, we all have our stuff and Gypsy-Rose probably has more than most so it's not like anyone's dunking on this guy by pointing it out (if it's even true). But yeah, these are real-life things that come up in relationships but expecting her to adapt in a typical way is asking too much. I mean, her entire life has been lived in some kind of prison. I imagine she needs some way to earn money and not a lot of experience or training to be able to do that so I can kind of understand playing into the hype but... She's better off staying to herself and trying to heal from the trauma of her early life experiences.
I think they both need therapy and the last thing they need is to be in a romantic relationship right now. She obviously had some major trauma and as far as he is concerned: who in their right mind would get involved with a stranger in prison for murder they met on a dating app? Even if their case is sympathetic, someone in prison has way too much baggage.
Honestly if you are hoarding food you definitely have something going on up in your noggin'. There is no sane reason that doesnt stem from trauma or some psychological disorder that someone could have for hoarding food and then blowing up at the person when they clean out the expired rotting shit in your fridge. I mean the reason you listed for it being he came from a childhood or background where they didnt have money for food so they hoarded things that had gone past their expiry date because they couldnt afford to throw it out or they'd go hungry, that's trauma that comes from living in poverty. There is no way in hell this man is okay psychologically if he's losing his shit at her for throwing out rotting food ._.

I say this because I remember at the time of the mother's death/murder, all the news outlets shared pics of the interior of that pink house - it was hoarded and messy, and the only clean part of the house was where Gypsy's un-necessary medicine was stored 👀👀👀

I'm not sure I agree with that full-body pan of the couple while on the "red carpet" was intended to say "look at this fat person." Those full-body camera pans happen to celebrities on the red carpet all the time, to show the entire look. And those camera operators are trained to do that, regardless of who is standing there. I think it was certainly used by that "news outlet" to insinuate the "look at this fat person" storyline they had going, though.

He was trying to prevent her from seeing her family. He was convinced they were against him. It wasn't true. There was an argument and she realized how much larger he is and he could hurt her. She chose to leave him and go back to her dad and stepmom for safety. It has nothing to do with his being obese, rather because he is so tall. Nor did it have anything to do with him being sweaty. For people who criticize her for dating or marriage while in jail, consider how she was never able to just date. A lot of the information you are hearing is from sources close to him who want to make her look bad and not based in truth.

He knew this and still went forward with the relationship. A smart person would have put the brakes on and said hey why don't you get to a stable place before we continue. Her mother kept her in the house and prevented her from having friends. This was a case of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy. Gypsy Rose grew to hate her mother and was convinced that the only way that she could be free would be to unalive her mother. This guy did it, she married him, and now she has realized that she doesn't want to be with an unaliver. The weight is an excuse. You need to watch the whole documentary to understand the depth of the mental illness involved here. It's deep.

I would like to hear Ryan’s version of their time living together. I get the feeling Gyp was a lazy person who didn’t want to lift a finger to help Ryan out and was texting her ex all day until Ryan caught her, confronted her and she didn’t want to be found out as a cheating hussy so she had to come up with another lie bashing Ryan so she yet again looked like a victim. All we hear are her lies and her version. We need the real truth.
