The first Smile had me so scared at points that I was hiding under my shirt. The second one has been on my mind ever since I saw it. I've seen it now three times in the cinema. Everyone has their favorite horror series, whether it's Nightmare or Halloween or Chucky. This is my series. 😃
An Oscar is not even all that anymore, do you know how many great actors have not gotten one? MANY MANY MANY. Also, you have to do a lot of ungodly stuff behind closed doors or sometimes on camera to get that Oscar. Talent alone doesn't bring it. Hollywood lmao
@@zombiesingularityyou just have to market it like an art movie like black swan got a bunch of Oscars and it was basically a psychological horror movie like smile
Paramount - can I just compliment you guys on actually doing sequels justice, with the likes of Top Gun 2 and Smile 2. My two top movies since the 2020's started. Smile 2 is incredibly good. Well done Parker Finn! I watched it more than a month ago and I'm still obsessed with watching people analysing it online. Honestly, this film deserves so many rewards on so many levels. I still have absolutely no idea on how to REALLY interpret this and I think that alone is probably one of the reasons I find this so incredibly fascinating. Because this is what art is supposed to do. It leaves the audience to interpret the work, in so many different ways, that there's no true consensus, except on this one thing: it's just art. Oh, how I wish I could now sit in my film studies/film history professor's class and hear his opinion on this. Although... his final assessment would probably also have been: It's open to interpretation. Haha. How brilliant. Thank you for great entertainment!
Every scene I see of this movie is so fucking haunting and uncomfortable... seeing her hair ripped out and then shoving a hand down her throat... Jesus Christ. I can even feel the terror of the scene with her mom breaking the glass
You don't have idea how long I've been waiting for a Behind the scenes for this movie 😂 loved the BTS from the first one, that even showed the composer recording the scary sounds
I honestly had lots of fun watching this movie. I absolutely ADORED the jumpscares and there was a point where I genuinely felt like Skye was one of many celebrities who are vilified by the media just because they're struggling with mental health issues. Like, evil metaphysical being aside, there are many Skyes out there and people don't spare an ounce of sympathy. The press turns their lives and horrors into a circus, just to sell newspapers or gain views on TikTok. It's sad.
I just had a Smile marathon and both movies were such a trip! Smile 2 and The Substance, best horror films of the year hands down. Naomi Scott was unreal in this one
This movie is amazing, The acting, the sequences are amazing But for me the thing that I found perfect in this film is the CAMERA WORK! those long shots, camera movements in every scene were right spot on well done

Parker is such an inspiration to me cause he's doing what I'm trying to do right now! I'm trying to make my own short film that's compelling enough to get picked up like how Smile was. And I love how humble Parkers upcoming is and how passionate he is about this series.

I saw the 2 films b2b. When i finished watching smile 1, I wondered how the sequel is gonna work. Coz the doctor already found the mystery and solution to her problem but suffered the same fate of other victims. But in the sequel, director makes the story more interesting by making the main lead a celebrity and adding a backstory. I love how Skye made millions of witnesses in the end. If smile 3 happens, its gonna be so grandeur
Naomi deserves the Oscar no matter what the genre and the effects team was so good too. The direction was so slick! What a sequel! Are there a lot of deleted scenes? I always enjoy reincorporating them into movies.
@ there is don’t get me wrong but it would’ve been interesting to follow someone who got away with getting rid the smile curse, only one other person had done it but they went to jail. Joel could’ve been used in another movie to help out a new character, and he would have to deal with the fact that the curse spread further cause of him
Naomi literally gave a Black Swan performance with this one. I felt for her until the last minute. 👏 Sadly Oscars only reward some Drama or Musical movies.
Yes, that scene builds incredible tension with the rapid back and forth camera movements as the viewer is also aware of the speeding car that they are in.
Ok Mr. Parket, if you're reading this, please, we need Skye world tour, we need physical vinyl and CD. And I hope the Oscars create a category just for Naomi, because she totally deserves it.
If I had to redo smile 2, I would have done an offshore oil rig worker maybe an underwater welder as the main protagonist. The idea of the smile entity being stuck on the offshore rig with the protagonist is horrifying. Even an underwater scene like a welder seeing the smile entity swimming up at them and knowing how water makes it hard to move fast would be terrifying. So much potential for Smile just needs to be done right.
