Hi Pat! You sure can. You'll find a recipe and some instructions here for some quick and easy pickled red onions that go great with Tacos or whatever dish you'd like to serve them with. --> avidarmor.com/blog/how-to-make-flank-steak-tacos-and-pickled-onions-using-the-usvx-chamber-sealer/
We actually didn't use a lid on this container. If you want to protect the chamber from possible splatters, you can put plastic wrap over the container.
Where (and what size) container do I use to maximize internal space on the USV32 in orer to marinate as much beef jerky as possible? The container that I have, although relatively small (2 Litres), it may be too large. It sits just at the lid level. I used a ruler to check, and it does not go above the USV32 internal compartment. BUT, it only seals one time not two times.
You can either use an 11"x13" chamber pouch to marinate or any Tupperware / container that fits. We recommend covering any container with Saran wrap in case of splatters!
The PCP function is a pump conditioning program and would only be run initially before you start using the machine and/or before using the machine if it's been sitting stored away for a while. But, to answer your question, you can still essentially accomplish this by upping the vacuum time and running a normal vac/seal cycle. You can either cancel the operation before it goes into seal mode or just let it finish the cycle.
You guys got the coolest job, I love my usvx model❤
What is each run cycle equivalent to? Is one cycle equivalent to 24 hours marinade?
It's not true. You can't speed up meat marination with vacuum pressure. Protein cells don't work like that. It only works with vegetables and fruits.
Can you marinate or infuse red onions

Is the lid of the food container on loosely?

@@Avidarmor oh ok, that's pretty interesting. Thanks
So if i use a sealer bag do i just manually seal it after the marinade sequense is done?

You can't effectively marinate meat quicker with vacuum pressure. It only works with open-celled items like vegetables and fruits.

Does it matter what the container is made out of, for example would a glass container be ok
Yes, a glass container will work great!
Can this be done on the gs41 by running the pcp program with the marinade dish inside?

Damn that’s loud. I was in the kitchen with this playing on the table and I thought she turned on a lawnmower.
Thank you for the kind words!
Can you use a liquid marinate?
You sure can 👍 That is a liquid marinade we used in this video.
That’s literally what’s in the video

Why is she so out of breath? Did she run to work?
