Hi... Question: After the jar lid is vacuum-sealed onto the jar, you then tighten the ring down for storage. Is it necessary to tighten that ring down?? In canning (water-bath and pressure canning) I was taught to remove the ring for storage (and NEVER stack jars on top of each other!) to avoid causing that seal to fail.
Approximate listed diameter of Mason and Ball quart jar is 3.38-3.5. The size of pan listed for this machine by AvidArmor is stated as 10.5 Wide x 10.5 Long x 3.5 Deep, Makes it close....
Unfortunately like so many others I have bought the food saver vacuum sealer I would like to purchase this that I would like an honest opinion of can I use the jar sealer lids with the avid armor sealer. The lid that seals the jars outside of the Machine. Are the lids interchangeable from Food saver to the avid armor machine?
I have the USVX machine and I purchased the wide mouth jar lid kit. It works wonderful. I have only used it to seal up my freeze dried food in 1/2 gallon mason jars, but I am sure it would do marinating etc. very well. I have not sealed anything in bags yet but that is to come. Spendy price but I wanted to do what ever I could to make sure my food was sealed as best as I could . Hope that helped.

What setting do I use for dry good vacuum sealing in my USV32? I saw another video showing using the standard 50/5 setting. You show using 20/5? I am confused about which to use.
Vacuum time should be 20 or 25. Seal time doesn’t matter. The lowest mine goes is 3 so I use that just to shorten the process. I use 20 and it’s fine for me but another demo video used 25 when 20 failed.
Yes you can. It is recommended to clean and sterilize the jars and lids between uses. It is generally common practice to sterilize the jars and lids by boiling them fully submerged for 10 min.
Oh, so the reason mason jars explode (implode?) in chamber vacs is because the sealing lid was on too tight during the evacuation phase, not during the release phase. Good to know.

Thinking about buying. Can you lay a quart wide mouth mason jar down in the chamber to seal?

can you reuse the lids after you use them the first time?

Just did this and my jar exploded
She is incorrect. Court size jars. Do not work correctly in their large Canister They' Canister
Is not tall enough
What brand of jar were you using? A Ball brand quart jar will fit inside the large cansiter and can be vacuum sealed within the canister.
