    The homeless will love this. Will it smell like Petco and the Gaslamp?

    The Future of San Diego looks very bright. The redevelopment of Sea Port village plan is one of the most exciting projects in SD. We San Diegans will all benefit from all these projects. Stay classy!😎🤙

    I hope they don't ruin Seaport Village with new steel and glass highrise towers that are everywhere. They need to keep some things on a human scale.

      This is exactly the plan. Is going to be a few years but they planning to "redevelop" the seaport village area as well.

      There was a rendering for one in the new seaport, so it looks like one is planned.

    The Observation tower design is ugly

    The tower is cheesy and the beach on the bay is a terrible idea.

    Condos are less likely to be built because of CA’s onerous condo liability law. There’s movement try and reform this law, hopefully there is movement in 2024.

    When is the rest of the old courthouse/jail going to be torn down?

      It’s suppose to be turned into affordable housing, but I’m not certain on the timeline.

    To sum it up they're removing unique existing building and architectural designs, instead of revamping what's old, sitting vacant or building on new land. The complete tear down planned for Seaport Village is the worst idea as it is beautiful and popular just the way its been for 45+ years. There is a reason why tourists and locals go to Seaport, for its own individual charm and quaint atmosphere and family owned businesses. If folks wanted to see a wacky aquarium, more hotels on top of the many hotels already around the bay and high rise buildings, they could book a flight to Dubai. You won't find anything like Seaport Village anywhere else in the world but you will find this commercialized plaza and hotel bay front everywhere. People and the city should not be focused on profit over protecting the architectural history and tradition of a community. This is what makes on city different from another- its history. This will set a precedent that money and land control is more important than preseving cultural traditions and historic sites.

      I have to agree, especially with your sentiment of seaport village. It’s all a money grab at the end of the day.

    What happened to the IDEA district?

    • @realtorjamielennon
      @realtorjamielennon  Год назад

      They have the already built IDEA1 apartments. The original plan was the transform like 30 blocks in east village, but I can’t any update from the city regarding plans moving forward. Nor do I see construction started in the projected areas. Would be great though to clean up and transform this part. They’ve already done a really good job with the streets surrounding Petco park.

      It’s exciting to see where it’s been to how it’s evolving. Even from 10 years ago. It’s changed a lot
