Rent is too expensive:( All I can afford is Austin texas or Denver with my income. Rent in SD would eat up all my extra money I want to invest 😅 considering becoming a digital nomad and moving to either Thailand or the Philippines. I can live in major cities like Bangkok or Cebu super cheap. San Diego is probably the most beautiful place in California but definitely not sustainable to live long term unless you make more than $120k a year.

Oceanside coastal is the meth capital of north county coastal from City hall to Wisconsin Street there are meth dealers on every other street I live in this area OPD narcotics, and the city council have made this area a safe zone for meth dealers literally open-air meth markets next to air BNB's in this area they have been reported and council member Joyce and the OPD Narcotics cover for the meth dealers and will not do anything. think twice before you think about moving to coastal Oceanside you will regret it.

Wifey n I are from Oceanside, but we just took a day off to go walk around the Harbor area. We've always loved the area, but that day really has us wanting to move downtown now. Heck, It's almost cheaper than up here. Great video though, answers a ton of questions I already have in my head. My only concern is our doggies. Everything else tho feels so perfect. 4th of Julys, Padre games, walks... We're still feeling the buzz lol. Actively looking for that right apt now. 🤞 - Again, great video. Thanks!

Yes, my husband and I ( just the two of us) spend close to $300 a week. Trader Joe’s is good, but lately produce is not that great. Produce at lazy acres is truly amazing ( meat too). But a trip there adds another $200.

Carlsbad is awesome, but not what it used to be. I moved to Carlsbad in 1999. My parents had just bought a brand new house on Masters Road, just off El Camino Real. They paid $320K for a 3,500sf home with a pool (they later sold it for a 400% profit). I lived in Carlsbad, built a successful photography business and that are gave me so many wonderful memories. Times have changed. Carlsbad is still beautiful, but CA has changed and not for the better. After the draconian lock downs and government overreach due to COVID, we all decided to move. Also, Carlsbad Village Drive was starting to become "Bum central" and the cops did nothing. And the real bars/restaurants like O'Sullivans and 83 Degrees had closed; being replaced by corporate-like establishments. All in all, quality of life was getting lower and lower while prices were going higher and higher. We finally decided to move my business out of CA and to NC. Now North Carolina has its beautiful areas as well, but I do miss San Diego every day. What we have here is cheap gas, lower taxes, cheaper food, lower taxes cheaper land and houses and lower taxes. We are also now buying our dream home on over 10 acres to homestead and run our small farm. We could never have afforded this in CA. Everything is a give and take, but NC is much more friendly (economically and possibilities) for us medium-upper class people. Now when I need my fill of CA, I book a flight, visit for a week or two, then I get the hell back out. I thought I would die in CA when I moved there in 1999, I had fond the fountain of youth, instead, the state killed me in 2022 and I was sent packing to the beautiful free state of NC.
