People are sleeping on San Diego. LA is just worse in every single way. San Diego without a car is at least manageable compared to LA which will save you up a lot of money. I’m very close to buying a home after a decade living carless! Find something close to the trolley and you’ll be set. The scenery, nature, air, people is amazing! The city is growing a lot too. Tons of development going on and will break ground. It might be a bit more expensive than San Francisco but it’s way safer and traffic is better. The most friendly people in California too.
"Costly, but worth it." It's worth it if you can afford it. So many make the mistake of moving here on a whim without having a serious job lined up or having much of an income. If you move here and plan on applying to restaurant or bartender positions, the city ain't for you.
One great thing about SD is that there are many transplants, such people are open to connecting and building relationship. There are TONS of networking events, social meetups and group events. Rent in SD would eat up all my extra money I want to invest 😅 considering becoming a digital nomad and moving to either Thailand or the Philippines. I can live in major cities like Bangkok or Cebu super cheap. San Diego is probably the most beautiful place in California but definitely not sustainable to live long term unless you make more than $120k a year.
I'd never move back to California. I lived there in the '70s, and left for good in 2005. I did travel frequently to San Diego between 2005 and 2019. I'm retired, and could afford to live there, but between the scumbag developers (Prop. 13, anyone?) and the equally scumbag East Coasters (esp. New Yorkers) flooding into San Diego in the mid-70s. I see you have a 619 area code. That used to be the area code when I lived in San Diego for the entire Southern California region. The 858 only came later...around 2000, I think. Not sure when they brought in 760, which was my area code with I lived in North County. Of course 213 used to be the main area code for L.A., when I lived up there.

@@stevez6551 which places in mexico are warm enough all year round to be able to walk around in t shirt and shorts ?
where do you live??
I don’t make enough money to live in San Diego. I live in Turlock, central California.
Is San Diego on Chicago level? Or should I consider Los Angeles? I need big city life. With the great weather.
I feel that. I’m a city girl myself. Nothing will really compare to Chicago… but in my opinion SD is much better than LA. But it’s subjective, of course. SD’s weather is unmatched. The downtown area is small (about 10 square miles), right on the harbor, very walkable with plenty of things to do.. downtown LA is much bigger, but not near the water. Do you live in a city now?
@@realtorjamielennon oh I see. I’ve been to California. I like San Francisco and LA. Just doing research on San Diego. I wanna come visit next year. I live in Chicago. I’m just about done with these winters 😂 I always tell people I wish Chicago was in California. It would easily be the most populated city in America 🇺🇸.
@@Mr102185 you right in that!! Well I hope you come down to explore. I love this city and feel it has a lot to offer, minus ‘good’ public transportation, but LA falls short in that category too. Good luck 👍 let me know if you need any tips!
Can you share your best neighborhood if
I have a kid
So many options I recommend depending on the preferred location and budget. San Diego neighborhoods: Rancho Peñasquitos & Carmel Valley. Outside of San Diego: San Marcos, La Mesa, Encinitas & Poway (which has a top rated school district.. A lot of other communities with San Diego zip code fall within this school district as well including Rancho Bernardo & Rancho Peñasquitos). Hope this helps!
north of the 8 freeway shhhhhh ;-) , .AVOID south of the 8. born and raised in SD.. ur welcome!

Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got talking about investment and money. I started investing with $120k and in the first 2 months , my portfolio was reading $274,800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest my profit and gets more interesting. For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home 2 weeks ago and care for my family..

Rent is too expensive:( All I can afford is Austin texas or Denver with my income.
Moving this September I’m looking for a house to rent three bedroom. Do you know of any?
Welcome! That really depends on your preferred area and price point.
Unfortunately there’s homeless folks in every city including suburbs 🥲
Are you based in Little Italy???
Sure am!
The farmers market in little Italy is amazing
Mam pleaee can u help me to find job im sam Diego..:(

She said grab your sunscreen. Does that imply people of color shouldn’t move to San Diego? Just a question.
People of color don't use sun screen? I never knew that.
Where is the hood that has apartments for $1500 or less?
I need a condo in downtown 🏙️
That can be done 😁 send me an email and I’ll shoot you over what’s avail. jamie@jamielennon.com
Damn i want to move there! But 2800 a month for a one bedroom rental is absurd
So, traffic is fast in San Diego?! Comparing it to a race like Daytona 500? I’m not sure what you’re talking about.
More like an every man for themselves situation. Doing whatever they can to get to their destination.
you better have a decent job or you will be screwed im a flooring contractor and still rent and remember its not what you know its who u know in the construction business it took me a good ten yrs to get a good customer base and stay away from drugs and booze because that is plentiful and there are some whacked people living here and if u have kids good luck my boy is 25 now and doing well but it was a battle to keep him on the straight and right path alot of negative influences i would not be able to deal with the current school situation and thank God i was on top of all the BS in the public school system in the past im leaving in the future and will retire in another state i could not afford to live here
Thanks
I live in Phoenix and i am dyinggggg to relocate to San Diego. Even with an annual salary of 225k i don't feel like i can afford it even living inland. I need a house with a yard for my dogs, but that's really the only thing i have to have. Unfortunately i am not, nor will i ever be, a millionaire. So it just feels really unattainable for me 💔
225k is small ???
@@HarpreetSingh-nw3ec I didn't think it was, it's certainly not for Phoenix. But for San Diego I guess it is for what I was looking for. It doesn't matter, I found a job in Washington State and I'm moving there next month. Way more affordable.
Mill for a little house is mental
I think the La clippers should move down here so we have an nba team and the chargers should move back
I like the Clippers and Lakers all the way so as long it's California I'm down with them.
Born and raised in San Diego, moved away (out of state) at the age of 52. The only thing I miss is the weather. So, if you like high taxes high prices on everything and sitting in your car and not moving San Diego is the place for you.
I would move to San Diego if I had the money 💰🤑💰.. .
Move to Florida Got it
Could we get on an email list possibly for one bedroom condos. It’s just my husband and I. Thanks!

This video completely romanticizes San Diego. I’ve been living here for over 20 years and tell everyone NOT to move here. It’s over priced, over crowded, and the politics are off the rails. It’s not worth it. We can barely afford to do anything anymore. If the insane restaurant/entertainment prices doesn’t get you, the cost of gas will (yes, you NEED a car). Public transportation is a joke. We plan to move within the next five years.
San Diego is not what it used to be. In a nosedive, rapidly.
I live in India and the visa process here is very difficult😅🇮🇳
I'm a Celt, with freckles to prove it. I love May Gray and June Gloom.
I wanna relocate how can I email you do they have rent for one bedroom apartment
Yeah its in Tijuana.
I have routinely sat in traffic for upwards of an hour and a half to go five or 6 miles!
Dont forget about the beaches always being closed because Tijuana sewage contamination
I lived in Imperial Beach,17,18,19,I observed a stinky dirty ocean.Wow,america!
I just passed by the tijuana pedestrian bridge and it's getting worse. I never get used to the smell.
The beaches are 🥶 and ☣️ #noplaceforswimming #stayhome
Know this, it was great before everyone moved here including the homeless
The police are friendly, beautiful bodies everywhere, you never have to make alternative plans due to whether, 70 plus public golf courses, nearly zero unemployment, it goes on and on, yes there are homeless; so, go help someone! This is a great place to live your life, the way you want, with no politicians swimming in your soup.
U want in
I don't get why people in the US are always complaining about traffic. Being stuck in traffic is part of life and should not be an issue, ever.

As long as San Diego doesn’t follow suit like San Francisco and LA which are disasters…..the homeless in San Diego is unacceptable
Oh BS! Show me any large city who doesn’t have homeless. Maybe you should move out of homeless area to a better place !
Wow hearing a lot about homelessness, is it about worse or better than Seattle?
Homelessness blah blah blah....
I live in San Diego and you really only see a couple homeless people in the heart of downtown around petco park
@@CaptainGaven that is good to hear….hopefully the homeless population will not increase because of the increase of illegal immigrants.
