SNL would have needed the company's permission to use their brand in this way. Most likely, this was a collaboration with M&M, where the company actually paid SNL to have their brand be front and center in the skit. A decent portion of SNL's revenue comes from branded content and product placement. It's a way for them to show less commercials.
the little jokes about native americans had got to be one of my favorite things about this sketch. the writers were on a roll while writing this sketch and it’s truly one of the best sketches to come out of this era of snl.
He's so sweet and sincere in his efforts to apologize, and so bewildered about getting fired ... I think that's what makes it so funny (that, plus the M&M costume, of course).

She was reviewing Ma while appliying some makeup (that's the spin of her series). It's somewhat of a tradition for black people to actively engage with the film by talking to the movie characters or the audience while at the theater, and they would build up on that. Imagine a showing of Rocky Horror, but with every movie, if they so desire to start. The racist part is that Jim just takes for granted that Joe does that, that all black people do it and they do it all the time.
So... Just to be clear, listening to the conversation: Jim only worked on his first day, it was a 3 hour shift, and he managed to offend each and every single one of his coworkers in one fell swoop.
I've seen it happen. Toys R Us, 2016. New dude was fired literally an hour into his first shift for calling the black girls who worked there "Hot Chocolate".
