- When Jean and Amara feel like the boys think they are stronger than the girls are, Tabitha decides that they should form a girl's crime fighting club. After getting Kitty and Rogue to join, they begin to fight crime at night as the Bayville Sirens, while the rest of the town, as well as the rest of the X-Men, try to figure out who they are.
Instrumental part is called "Blue Wave" by X-Ray Dog. Lyrics author and performer are unknown.

The real crime is that we never see this badass team in action ever again or receive a spin off about them
The girls had to stop. If they kept going despite their good intentions they would've been caught. Either by the cops or someone recognizing them.

@@slanetroyard92 You mean like how it stopped for every other vigilant? This is a superhero show if Marvel wanted they could have made an entire superhero spin off with these girls and they never get figured out (although it might be similar to Birds Of Prey).
The fact that Tabitha could convince Jean to go along with this shows how infectious Tabitha is.

Just watched it for first time. It was so bizarre. It was the spice girls version of girl power
I love how the writers referenced movies/shows for some of the characters' dances and executed it perfectly! Tabitha's dance at 1:43 was from "Never Been Kissed", Jean and Amara from "Coyote Ugly", and Rogue and Kitty in a different episode from "Buffy: The Vampire Slayer". Production rocked this series!

X-Men Evolution animators when animating girls dancing were on god mode
They would base it of real people dancing - like that time they took a dance scene from Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
They rotoscoped a scene from The Craft in this episode. They traced over live action quite a bit for this show.

that's because the animators were movie animators before they did tv animations. one of their notorious animated movies is the swan princess franchise.

@@penny1545 yeah, I saw the episode recently but honestly for the era this was made ago, when everything wasn't political and there wasn't to many strong female characters that weren't tomboys, I feel this episode did pretty well with the female empowering theme, they didn't put down the man or try to say that girls are superior, they just made a group to be fun and show girls can kick ass too, simple message but again there weren't a lot of this type of scenes back then.

It always did feel a little odd to me that Charles runs a 'school' in the original show but we like....never see the mansion function as one. They take in Jubilee but then you only really see her doing X-men stuff afterwards. Even if we take the school as being ONLY concerned with teaching mutants to control their powers...that's never really shown outside of combat training in the danger room. Most of the time the X mansion basically serves the same function as the T tower in the Teen Titans cartoon, just the place where all the team live together at.
The nostalgia hurts, this was my favourite episode
I so would have watched a show (or even just a special) about the Bayville Sirens. Shame they disbanded at the end of the episode.

Loved this show.
I loved this episode so much as a kid that I painstakingly figured out how to record it onto a VHS tape on our old tv (carefully stopping and starting again between commercials) and kept the tape to watch, over and over again, well into high school.

This was a good episode, its a shame the sirens never stuck around. Just think about it they could have been their own team
