Hi Griffin, I am a South African currently in Ecuador and although I have not been to Zimbabwe I have filmed wildlife documentaries in almost every other Southern African country. If I was you I would definitely go to Zimbabwe! It will be one of the most fun trips of your life! Zimbabweans are kind people, it's their government who has let them down! Unemployment is high but Zimbabweans are often keen to learn and hard working people. City centres are high-crime areas around Southern Africa, pick-pocketing is not really a thing in Southern Africa, when they rob you its usually a bit more blatant, but if you are out in the bush, or on private property there is very little to worry about. If you get a change to travel drive up to Manu Pools, it will be the best game drive of your life. The wildlife there is out of this world. As for Saudi Arabia, I just filmed a wildlife documentary there 2 months ago and I directed a film for Nat Geo and Vice there about falconry 2 years ago and I loved every minute of it! The people there are the friendliest people in the world and its the safest country that I have every visited, and I would definitely encourage you to visit KSA one day! Its completely different to what is portrayed on the news, (of which i know you have much experience).

I’m very sorry to hear the news about your wonderful mother. She is terribly missed but her amazing presence lives on through you and Peter.

No matter how loyal to Delta you are, a trip on Emirates is WORTH every penny! You must do it at least once. For a trip THAT long, you'll be sad when the flight's over. I did Boston to Dubai earlier this year (11.5 hours out and 13 hours back) and it's the first time I've ever said, "Wow, there's only 9 hours left on this flight". It's that awesome! I was also flying Economy. Their service and comfort on-board makes any US airline look like a second-class airline.

Wait, I should cancel my trip to north korea? Dang. lol. My goodness, very sorry about your loss, I don't think I'd handle it as good as you seem to be.

Thank you, Chris. I've definitely cried quite a bit the last few weeks, and managed to hold back tears for the podcast.
