UPDATE: A new software update has added EQ presets and sliders to the PS5 UI for the buds. You can also access the menu with 3 taps of the Link button, thus proving this could theoretically be used for functions with your phone too. A lot of effort went into this one so I hope you all enjoy! 😊 What do you think to the buds? Drop your rating out of 10 below! 👇
Hi, great video. Thanks. I am wondering can you use the ear buds independently as in only using 1 ear bud, so I can still hear mh misses moaning at me while gaming? Thanks
Just got the pulse Elite today. EXTREMELY uncomfortable if you’re using PSVR2. If you put them over the headset there is a big gap allowing sound in and the sound is horrible. With it under the headset the sound is astonishing but the headset pushes the ear cups into your ear and it hurts within about 30 minutes. They do sound unbelievably awesome though. If you’re not using PSVR, I suppose they’d be ok. Problem is they slide all over the place while on your head. I tilted my head forward and back just a little and they moved a lot. You’ll be making a lot of adjustments while playing. Guess I’ll Be trying out the Pulse earbuds next. If they don’t work, it’s back to my $30 Amazon headphones which are extremely comfortable and sound decent enough.
I caught a pair of Soundcore VRP10's on sale (Amazon) for $55. They go on sale quite oftern. They compare very well against the Pulse Explore for a quarter of the price. I am very happy with them and work really well with a phone.
Great video. Question: Would you buy these or the Pulse Elite? I am mainly using it to replace my AirPods Max as I am tired of a wired connection. Thanks :)
I just started using them and the only time i get good sound quality is when i turn the volume up to max otherwise it is too low on any other volume. What can i do to fix that?
I think the majority of connectivity issues have been solved in software updates since. For 50% off, I think these are a steal if you still have access to that offer!
@@Octorious yeah I got it with that special price. new update really improved the sound quality. The only issue that I found so far is disconnecting from ps Link in the middle of the game, which happened only twice so far. I use it on my ps portal often and didn't have that issues there. Overall I am happy with my purchase but definitely it is hard to recommend this when it is not on sale.
@MtLLive5795 glad you like them! If the adapter and earbuds are fully up to date and disconnects still occasionally happen, try moving the link adapter to a front port and see if it continues to happen. I've heard people report that the adapter might overheat if the PS5 isn't well ventilated and at the back, it's just getting all that heat kicked onto it.
I love your review, very well done. And ive been loving my pulse explore earbuds aswell, but they have been randomly disconnecting then seconds later reconnecting during games on ps5 sometimes, has anyone else had this issue too? Im not sure how to fix it
Thank you so much! It really means a lot. 💙 It's funny you mention that, because on that same Reddit thread I mentioned in the video, I saw a guy say he had this issue but I sort of moved past it as it isn't a problem I've had. From searching a bit online, it does look as though a few people are encountering this which definitely sucks so hopefully a software update can bring a long term fix for those affected. In the meantime, apparently forcing a reset of the adapter and earbuds and then repairing them seems to work.
@@Octorious Thankyou for your reply, ill give the reset a go. Also will you be doing a review on the PS Pulse Elite headset coming in Feb? Im super keen to hear your thoughts about that too
@Darth_Zabrak Yes I will! I even mentioned this at the very, very end (like last 3 secs lol) as i thought a couple of people might be interested. Not sure if I'll be getting it sent ahead of release or not, so I'm not sure when it'll be up, but I'll aim to have it out a week after launch at the absolute latest. Good luck with the reset 😊💙
The reset doesn’t work, I exchanged my first set after I contacted Sony and was told “I got a defective unit, and should send it in for repair” so instead I got a new set that is also doing the same thing disconnecting so much it’s annoying to use them, shame cause I really liked them, I’m returning my second set… I have fully reset them both a lot of times no luck at all
Hey, any chance you checked if these work one at a time, especially with Bluetooth? I can see them double up as my call earbuds, but for calls I usually just use one earbud, and some models only support it with one side instead of being able to swap sides independently.
Did you have any connectivity issues while using them with the psvr2? Mine constantly disconnect when I’m using it with the vr Update: for anyone having this problem, unplug the audio on the psvr2. Helped keep connectivity longer, but didn’t fully fix MY problem as I have to send them to Sony for a “repair”.
I've not had any issues, however, since making this video I've seen a few people say they do get disconnect problems. I haven't had to do it myself so can't be sure, but apparently a hard reset of both buds, the case AND PS Link USB, and then fully repairing them can fix it. I must have been an issue with how the buds were paired to the PS Link adapter they shipped with for some reason. Off the top of my head, I think you hold the bud buttons and case for 12 secs, and ps link button for 30 secs but you might have to check that!
Was using my PS4 platinum headset until they started disintegrating this week. Not interested in the same happening again in a few years so I’m done with the fake leather covering on these headsets. Just ordered these earbuds.
I bought these and sent them back after a week, using them for 5-6 hours daily (I’m a sim racer GT7), and they continually kept disconnecting from my PS5 no matter what USB the link device was in. So fed up of it. Gutted as the sound when working was amazing. The fidelity was amazing. Little nuances sounds I’d never heard from my game usually, and I’m on a high end 5.1 system. I’m a bit dismayed you got yours for free though. How do I get some for free from Sony?
I've been creating PlayStation content with normally 50K+ views per video but also frequently significantly more (granted, this one has flopped lol) for a couple of years. With the intent of each video being as high quality as possible (this one took about 60 hours total for example), and uploading frequently about a brand to a large audience, eventually they notice you and are kind enough to offset some of the costs by providing you with products I would have had to buy to review anyway. In total, I normally get each product or game launch 1M+ views overall across 1 or 2 videos and a short, so that's obviously worth it to them. I'm very sorry to hear about the disconnect issue. It's something I'd not heard about at all prior to making this, and then a couple of people have said they've had this same problem. I did some research and also spoke to someone else in DMs who had this issue, and we were able to fix it by essentially force resetting both buds, the case itself, AND the PS Link adapter. Now they are all unpaired as though new, and you repair them from scratch. It's almost as if when they pair the buds with the link adapter that came with it, that something was just done wrong on some of the products, so you have to fully repair manually from scratch, or pair to a different ps link adapter, if you want them to stay connected without issues. I can't say with 100% certainty this works as I've not had the issue myself so I haven't had to try to fix it, but it has worked so far for one person I've spoken to who had the problem. It is a huge shame people are having this problem because like you say, the sound quality is excellent. I'd have definitely highlighted and tried to provide a fix for this in the video had I known it was a problem prior.
@@Octorious I agree hard work is put in, but we put hard work in to earn the money to buy these things… swings and roundabouts. As for the disconnects… I’ve followed yours, and many other things for resetting the buds, the case and the link device itself (I’ve two of those) and now they won’t connect to the link whatsoever. I’ve tried on both links. I’ve reset multiple times in PS5 and via a laptop to make sure if things but to no avail. They now appear to be dead.
@WanderFeetChronicles At the end of the day, it's gifted as a thank you for creating stuff on their products, but also as a part of their marketing, as normally, I can receive the product or game a little ahead of release so videos are ready for launch. With RUclips, you don't get any perks at all. If I had to pay for the products but got 30 vacation days, health cover etc all included, of course I would. 😅 It helps balance that out a bit if I can get things for free I'd otherwise have to pay for anyway, and allows us to bring our audience content that may otherwise not have been possible, so it does indirectly benefit viewers too. They won't be dead. You need to follow the manual for how you pair the buds to a new link device for the first time. I can't remember off the top of my head, but I do believe I cover it in the video as its the same way you'd connect it to the portal for the first time so check the instructions given in that segment. I hope it works!
@@Octorious I hear you. Have you ever been sent any pin badges/buttons or anything? If so… send them my way (Liverpool, UK). 😂 - Glad to see you play GT7, like myself only ever play in VR2, and this is what these devices were bought for. I’ll figure it out, cheers bud. I’ll go sub to you. Help you towards 100k.
The sound quality of the earbuds is significantly better than the Pulse 3D headset, and that absolutely helps pinpoint directional sound. For immersion, the earbuds are again superior. Despite not having ANC, as they are physically in your ear, that cancels out other noises and keeps you in the game a lot more than the Pulse 3D. I'm very intrigued to compare them to the Pulse Elite headset when I get my hands on it. Of course more expensive headsets also with planar magnetic drivers, and ANC etc will beat these earbuds, but then you'd be paying a lot more and they wouldn't work natively with devices like the PS Portal. Like I say in the vid, my main issue with the buds is how the sound quality is just bad if you don't have the right tips or are wearing them even slightly incorrectly. They are excellent once you have them in right.
I'm definitely looking forward to the headset! I think that has a lot of potential. Did you definitely have the right bud tips in like I mentioned in this video? Personally, the earbuds absolute blew me away with the amount of bass they have and just the sound quality in general. I was also initially disappointed though as I mentioned; just turned out I was wearing them wrong (and for others it's the bud tips).
@V3NOMOUS22 I have one and think it's visible at several points in this video haha, but it's still more steps to skip a track via the watch than it is with the buds if you are using the watch for something else too like maps whilst on a run. Plus, it would be an incredibly poor way to review a product if I only focused on people WITH a smart watch 😅
Definitely better for having ANC and EQ options, but the planar magnetic drivers in the Pulse Explore really elevate the sound quality itself a lot imo. Could be interesting to do a separate comparison video of the 2 🤔
What's up with them? Have you contacted support? Maybe I can help figure out what's set up wrong with them? I'm still loving mine and use them every day so want to help you figure it out :)
