Here are three reasons why Diana doesn't sound human.
First, she is a dramatic contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich.
Second, she has a spectacular larynx. It is a gift from God, and others have called it the Eighth Wonder of the World.
Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below)
When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune.
And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in seven billion.

The words are my own (I've probably pasted this exact comment into dozens of reaction videos). I readily acknowledge that those words have been influenced by everything I've read and watched. But the words are my own.

Diana Ankudinova was born on May 31, 2003 in Russia. She participated in the Russian TV project "You are super!" in 2018 with the songs "Derniere danse" (French), "It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” (English), “The River” (Russian), “Tomorrow Is A Lie” (English) and won. In 2019, she repeated the success, won the Grand Prix on the TV show "You are super! Superseason." with the songs "Blizzard" (Russian), "Wicked Game" (English), "Human" (English). Recordings of Diana's performances on the show "You're super!" posted on RUclips (copyright of the NTV channel). Diana continues her career as a pop singer, gives concerts in Russian cities, studies at the State Institute of Theater Arts. Diana Ankudinova has an official Internet channel on RUclips. It contains recordings of performances from 2008 to 2021. I recommend visiting this channel.
You have just listened to what may be a true contralto. “Diana Ankudinova, A Russian National Treasure”, I have been following her for awhile. She is another very interesting story that you will discover. Wait until you hear “Take On Me” or "Human" or "Rechenka" Even though it is in Russian you still feel the emotion behind it. I've heard her sing in Russian, English, French, German, Arabic and Spanish so far. No matter what language it is beautiful.

Thank you for your time and comments for Diana. This is just tip of the iceberg! I'll reiterate what other have suggested. Take On Me is a short 2 minute video done during the pandemic, first lock down, at her home with recording equipment donated by her fan base. This will show you her high range and shouldn't be blocked, found on her RUclips channel. Rechenka is a Russian folk song she sung a year prior to wicked game, on the same show You Are Super, will be blocked but a world class performance ( Period) at 14 years old. Human, will show her lows again, winning performance sung after wicked game on the same show. This will give you a start, but I warn you, this is a deep rabbit hole and she is better now at almost 18yrs than in these TV shows at 14-15YEARS. Diana will surprise you every time she performs a different song. I suggest next be Blizzard, Rechenka, Derniere danse or Human. Others have taken a more chronological approach as she shows skills very early in life. She's been on stage since she was 5. Her back story will shatter your heart and then lift your spirit. I bet you regret taking so long now. :) Pretty good for someone who doesn't speak English right? Diana has a one-of-a-kind voice. She's absolutely mesmerizing and amazing. Dimash is a fan of Diana and has told us to follow Diana you know. Rechenka is even more mind-boggling. It's Russian neo-tribal Folk. She has many covers and sings in multiple languages. She's starting to produce her own original music now that she is 17. Her first Album comes out in May (she turns 18 in May as well). Rechenka, Derniere Danse, Human, Blizzard are all favorites from the reactor commuity. I have other personal favorites...but dive in. She's amazing.

Cher is the closest female voice I can think of, but not as much emotion. Even though her voice is low it isn't masculine. Angelina Jordan also sang this, but with sorrow bing her emotion of choice instead of anger. "Rachenka", river in Russian, is another good choice for Diana. You probably didn't notice, being in shock from her skills and her unique voice, but the last Judge to press their button was Igor Krutoy, last because he was waiting for a natural break in the song so he wouldn't interrupt it, after that the other Judges started doing the same. After this season Igor bought Diana an appointment in Moscow so she could attend a music university. You spent most of her song with your mouth hanging open. 😂
Good on you for giving pops to the top level musical arrangement and staging. It enhanced her amazing singing and stage presence.

The ages of the competitors vary from extremely young to 18’ year olds...many are Amazing and I viewed significant portions as it demonstrates Diana humble personality and she’s such a caring participant towards the other children. Her original song 🎧 “Light Up the Sky” has some significant lyrics about Almighty God’s Forgiveness...her vocal coach who worked tirelessly on helping Diana with maintaining high notes had just passed from the Virus (2020’). 😢🙇🏻♀️🙏🏽 Please review and React to more Diana...she never disappoints. Diana is amazing react to her singing Human, her story, shes lucky to be alive one of 7 to survive, adopted, then new mom was worst, found beaten in the snow in Siberia. By 3 she finally found a mom who cares, yodel alot while growing up, but by 10 started singing, Russian Voice if u notice wick game the older judge works with Dimash and has worked with Diana too.
Again, Human, The River (shes 14), will blow you away. Shes won the voice twice, last time, she won a scholarship to college, and the older judge provided her with an apartment. She works hard at everything she does. But watch her eyes, they change. Shes different but unbelievable good 👍

Please try Rechenka. She was only 14yo but delivered a word class performance. If you want something more recent and high pitched try Take on me, she recorded this at home during COVID without all the stage and crowd, you can get a better listen to her natural voice

Good morning from Scotland! Yes this is a cover of Chris Isaak's song. This is 15yo Diana singing in an amazing Russian competition "You are Super" for abandoned/disadvantaged children because Diana spent some years in an orphanage.
She is a natural dramatic contralto (so VERY low) which is rare in females but exceptionally rare in someone so young! Diana was born way over in the far eastern side of Russian in Arsenyev, about 160 kilometers northeast of Vladivostok.
Her adoptive family moved to Togliatti, in western Russia near the Volga River. After Igor Krutoy (one of the judges in this competition) gifted Diana an apartment in Moscow she moved there and still lives there!
It makes it easier for her to study at GITIS International, the largest and oldest theatrical State Institution in Russia.

Diana has something primal, mystical, but also sensitive and sensual in her voice and she lives her songs. Diana is a dramatic contralto, the rarest contralto type. Dimash is the universe, but Diana is the earth, our home... and when you hear her voice you feel like she has wrapped you in a warm velvet blanket and served you a mug of hot, dark chocolate. Every song is a unique experience, it captivates you, you feel bound by magic.
Diana was born in May 2003 in Arseniev in the Far East of Russia. She didn't have a happy start in life. The woman who gave birth to her had 12 pregnancies, only Diana survived ... and she did not love her child, abused her cruelly and tried to I drowned. Relatives found the child with a broken collarbone on the street and shortly afterwards took the 3-year-old girl to an orphanage. Finally there she found love ... from Irina Ponik. Taking a little child into the family was not easy for Irina. Her son was already 20 years old, the daughter 17 years old ... Start all over now? Yes!!! Diana came to a poor but loving family when she was 5 years old.
Diana spoke badly, cried a lot and was still very scared but she all sing songs from cartoons. And so, the singing teacher Elena Kazantseva discovered Diana's talent. And all started ...
During 2008 to 2012 Diana sang around 40 songs, including at competitions.
Diana's mother became her daughter's manager. Everything that has to do with Diana's singing training, performances, competitions, looking for sponsors is organized and coordinated by her mother Irina Ponik. She took extra sewing courses too. Since then, she's been sewing all of Diana's stage costumes, because all of these things consume the family budget. She accompanies her daughter on trips and captures her life in photos and videos with the persistence of a visionary.
After winning a competition in Moscow, Diana's mother was offered to leave the girl in a boarding school for gifted children. She refused and in 2012 her family moved to her hometown of Toglyatti, much closer to Moscow. Diana lost her fear that the woman who gave birth to her would kidnap her.
Diana's voice, her perfect pitch and her sense of rhythm were extraordinary even as a little girl and so she impressed with her talent in over 50 national and international competitions. Her confidence grew, her voice continued to develop ... until one day she was asked to compete in more distant competitions so that other children could have a chance to win.
In 2017 she went to Moscow, at the Russian 'The Voice Kids'. Diana sang 'Yodel-Time' ruclips.net/video/vKdvaWsd91Q/видео.html but none of the judges turned around but the whole audience gave 'standing ovation'. What happened? Next day, a huge scandal broke out in social medias. People demanded for Diana's participation in the competition.
A door had closed but a new door opened:
In 2018/19, Moscow hosted the 3rd season of a unique international competition instead of "You are Super", especially for adopted and orphaned children. The winner of the season (Diana) will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to RUclips and soon she had millions of fans.
Diana won also a scholarship to the College of Music. Igor Krutoy gifted her a small apartment in Moscow. So, she could start her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskoy (She died of Covid-19 in October 2020).
The break of voice made Diana’s voice even darker and deeper. She has mastered this time very professionally and has worked hard to bring back the lost high notes and has expanded her vocal range, currently from C3 to D6. Her genres are folk-rock, folk-pop, jazz, soul, blues, soldier songs and Diana-stile… tradition meets modernity.
She loves to sing in French, but also sings in English, German, Arabic and Spanish... but only phonetically.
But she is not only a great singer and storyteller, but also a humble, intelligent and hardworking young woman. She also gives charity concerts. She loves her family and her fans. They are 'friends' to her and they are very supportive of her. Diana is grateful that they helped improve her home studio and also supported her future plans. Her Russian Friends have chosen Diana as "National Treasure" (no official title).
2020 Diana graduated from high school with honors and now, she is a student at the Russian Institute of Theater Arts (similar to Juilliard). She is already composing songs and we will definitely hear her own song soon.
She will only take part in major competitions if invited. Such competitions require a lot of time, effort and strength. As a result, participants often have large educational gaps and problems later on. Diana is a smart young woman. She focuses on her studies, her voice and expanding her repertoire.
