I really like this guy, AND you gave him articulation. Honestly gives me action figure vibes and I could totally see a line up of other mechs with different weapons, shapes, and colors. Like a high quality collectible action figure or gundam.
That’s really kind of you. I think I was just suffering from imposter syndrome during the build. Lots of great makers in the collaboration, and I just wanted to live up to them .
@@eye_made_this Oh i know: i'm going through the playlist right now! It's awesome seeing how many different approaches and tecniques you all brought to the table!
Aww thank you, much appreciated. Hope you like my stuff, it’s a bit eclectic. I have a playlist also of music videos I have made and directed too if you are interested :)
24:30 the final build looks like it belongs to the Tau from the 40k universe! Awesome colour scheme and the shoe polish weathering was an interesting addition, will be trialing this myself!
Some decals could easily give it more character and life. Also a base goes a long way to telling a story. It's the main difference between a toy and a miniature imo
I think I've watched almost all of the bot bash videos and your creation is my favorite so far. You also followed the die rolls pretty well, which not all people seem to do. Even though you aren't sure about the color scheme, I like the white and red combo. I gives it that cassette futurism kinda wibe, as you said yourself.
I absolutely love this bot boy. The sculpt is so fun, so chunky. The shoe polish weathering is unique for sure and I do think it adds to the overall appearance. Good job
Alright? It's bloody phenomenal mate. I'm utterly useless at sculpting so to my eyes it's brilliant. Edit: Oh, I love the orange and white, you might not rate your painting skills but again, it looks great to me.
People who think they're not good painters need to stick together! Having said that; don't use paint for metal edges showing through and just use the side of a pencil tip and colour away. Works amazing and helped me not dread painting so much.
Honestly this has been my favorite on the entire playlist so far. A lot of them seem thin, fragile, and unrealistic. But yours has the weight and chunkiness I'd expect from a mech. I also love your unique white/orange color scheme. So many people went for dark, grey, muddy bots so it was really refreshing to see something on the other end of the spectrum. Fantastic job!
This is awesome man I know we’re all our own worst critics, god knows I never think any my stuff is good even when they win contests. Just know this is amazing work man and the fact it’s 99% hand sculpted is amazing to me.
What a fabulous bot! With the white and orange colour scheme and (shoe polish!) weathering it looks a bit like Johnny 5 reborn in the District 9 universe. Charming, weighty, believable.
I think this is an absolutely fantastic bot build! The colors are amazing and the different sizes for the arms and legs really make it eye catching from every angle! Great work and thanks for the amazing video!
Looking at his design, you've got a bot that is not designed to move from place to place quickly. If he had two hands, I would put him into a flexible factory role where he's meant to sit at a station and build things for months at a time. Maybe that's what he was designed for, but those hooks on his slow-moving body say that someone meant for him to go somewhere and occasionally pull things towards him. I imagine him working quietly on the side of some low-traffic cargo dock, ready to pull ships into their berth if needed. 98% of his CPU time has been handed over to a self-coded database keeping track of the lives of the local sea-birds. He has designations for each of them and can accurately identify non-distinctive members of the flock at 45 meters, a whole 3 meters beyond where his model is advertised as having fine-grained detail discernment in their optical system. The only being who has any idea of his hidden depths is the local cleaning drone, who wipes off the occasional bird dropping and reports the ongoing chassis damage the dockbot receives from local ne'er-do-wells. The dockbot occasionally attempts to push "database updates" to the little drone, who not only isn't running the database, but lacks the extra processing power to do its job while running the dockbots baroque coding. Nevertheless, the drone's builtin security software does a quick dissection of the rogue software update and the drone dutifully updates its own overall environmental model with the comings and goings of the birds.
Holy crap, you have put more thought into this bot than I have. I know who I’m going to when I need some lore for my creations haha. Thanks dude , loved this!
Love this. People forgot how to carve and sculpt. Poorhammer peep were complaining about figure pricing and needed 3d printers, when they could just make their own out of anything including clay or wood. Auto companies were doing this for prototypes for 70 years.......
