Having read the manga first is gonna make this a really unique reaction, I'm very glad u did it that way! And it will mean you can analyse music mid-episode with less worry about missing info
I little over 10 years ago I had never watched an episode of anime. This was my first and I was absolutely hooked. Now I've seen over 500 animes and 10000 episodes. The songs and the usage of music throughout the entire show is unparalleled. It will be one of my favorites forever.
yo thiis man in his last video was like i dont get into show any anymore, but i got into 2or 3 volumes of aot. And by this video he almost completed this show. Thats some aot magic right there.
@@Nastyn1nja808 "hid some stuff" is sort of a stupid thing to say, wit simply did not treat the story very well, it's a running theme through the first 3 seasons before studios changed. erasing context for stupid reasons creating strange character interactions, adding stupid things that end up never being explained, removing character interactions causing characters to be less developed and more one dimensional, or simply just removing things because its "taboo" in japan. its a stark contrast from mappa who in season 4 frankly made the story better than the manga
Oh wow can't wait for more! I listen to AoT music basically daily after watching this show and always wanted to watch someone reacting to it with a music related view and aspect too.
10:45 Yes, it's the same motif! But this track is called "Vogel im Kafig". It was my favorite track in AOT for a long time (still one of my faves now). 11:38 "All that blood looks like rose petals" that is such a beautifully tragic observation :( I didn't even think of that
Great reaction. I'm glad to know that you release your reactions to anime on RUclips. I can't wait to watch your next AOT reactions. By the way, the last track of this first episode is not *YOUSEEBIGGIRL/T:T* (which comes from the second season) but another one titled *Vogel im Käfig* , which is composed of two parts: the second part of that track (the one used at this moment of this episode) has been reused by Sawano to create other more recent tracks, one of which is YOUSEEBIGGIRL/T:T. Personally I suggest reacting to said track, since Vogel im Käfig is one of the most iconic in the series, but if you do, I recommend using the video titled *Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) OST - Vogel im Kafig (eng subs)* by kasumi appa (a video that has more than 18 million views), since it is a video with the lyrics subtitled in English and in its original language (German) that does not have spoilers of the series.
Its going to be such a cool reaction. I don't know anyone who read the whole manga before starting the anime. Will be such a different experience! Looking forward to it!
i love this reaction. its a whole different way of watching the episodes! I rewatched this series mutible times, just to focus on the way they use their music!
Obviously The writing for the show/manga is absolutely amazing and genuine. But Sawano's music just.. elevates it to a whole new level. He makes you feel every little thing. Or every big thing. And makes it memorable. You can think of a scene, and hear the daunting, or creepy, or triumphant, or sad music in the background. Or you can hear a song, which might be emotional to beginning with. But then, with the added visual in your memory from the show. It can make you truly tear up and feel. Absolutely love it Also, Sawano's use of silence in these episodes is absolutely genius too. Absolutely genius
Oh! Glad you followed my suggestion. as for improvements I think you should highlight the subtitles so it's easier to follow along, also this might be minor but "reacts" could be more enticing than "watches" (+ you are technically reacting to the anime for the first time despite reading the manga because they are definitely 2 different experiences).
Hi marco, thank you for reacting to AoT! Although I know it's probably hard to deal with copyrights I personally can't really make out what's happening on the very darkened screen we get to see. I was thinking maybe you could take inspiration from other anime reaction channels to still show more of what's happening while bypassing youtube's strict copyright striking system (GOT games for exemple)? Anyways, keep up the good content as always!
Anime reactions are very entertaining to watch. I know you've seen the whole story but anime is probably the best way to experience this world. Animation is beautiful , voice acting is toptier and that soundtrack oh god, masterpiece. Can't wait till you hear Youseebiggirl during "That scene"
one of my favourite osts from season 1 is called EMA u should listen to it. its named EMA for eren, mikasa, armin and its like 3 osts at the same time that all focus on the musical personality of each character its amazing.
One thing you might want to consider is reacting to the storytelling of the openings and endings (musically, not graphics). There are wonderful live versions of the Openings with a whole backup orchestra that won't get copyrighted. It's a really rollercoaster.
one tip for people who want to see the anime better since he cant show much because copyright, try blast your brightness up to the roof, it helps a little! ofcourse i know a lot of you guys already watched and know the scenes just by hearing LOL.
It's good that you know everything, so we can discuss more. From ep1 there a few notable things: 1. episode name, you already know what foreshadowing it creates with Ymir 2. Eren's dream under the tree, he already saw it all 3. the scene in the house with the key, it will be played exactly like this in season 4 (in the memories), but we will see extra details that pan out how stressful Grisha was during this time and how he seen future Eren 4. the Dina Fritz that's being sent here by Eren himself
I love your music analysis. going to sign up to the Patreon just to watch these reactions. I hope you watch the full show as it's an absolute masterpiece and the music is stunning. There's even a character called Marco in the show! Edit: just realised you mentioned you'd read the manga so you'll know the characters etc. but the art and music in the anime really makes it a different experience!
First?! I'll edit with actual reply after i finish the vid. Edit: Yeah i really liked hearing thoughts from another perspective. Especially pointing out all the musical elements and how it affected the scenes that i never even picked up on consciously when i first watched this all those years ago. And especially me not really being a manga reader i was truly captivated by the visuals and the music when i first watched this with a completely blank slate. Thanks for the vid marco!
As good as "You See Little Big Girl" is, the fact that it uses "Vogel im Kaffig" in its composition thereby tricking people into thinking that they're the same song is my main detractor for it, because people then skip out on even looking for and listening to "Vogel im Kaffig" as a result.
Please try listening to ending song of Samurai Champloo called Shiki no Uta and also Rourouni Kenshin ending song called Heart of Sword. Both sounds really COOL and just captures a certain feel from the arc of the anime.
This is awesome. Have you had any recommendations to watch Vinland Saga? It is my favorite anime/manga and I feel like its amazing music is underrepresented on RUclips.
Watching this i really understood now that it's cool how it starts, country music playing means country music, that the imagery of fish gutted, and that damn tree. Don't force it this much, understand you gotta get that bag and get the video to 10 minutes but not by sacrificing viewer experience.
Love the video! I know not everyone is equal, but I still find slightly annoying when I watch a reaction of this show and the person doesn't even mention a single word about the music. The soundtrack is by far one of the best I've seen in a show, it's so intense when it needs to be, it's beautiful, sad, encouraging, motivating... Soundtrack is one of the aspect I love to pay attention. It's what can make a scene 1000x more intense.
If i can recommend several ost, I would say for now: Elfen lied op Ghost in the shell op and ed ( tv show don t remember the suffixe) Blood+ diva s song ( both in anime and the one sing by the actual singer... i ll look a link) Edit: can t find the one with singer or maybe it was the cover i saw. It s an old anime so quality of sound doesn t seem optimal even for a bad ear like me. But enjoy ruclips.net/video/JFECcFhrsXI/видео.htmlsi=nC4tTf_RQUhUuomC
Something bugged me about this but I couldn't get my mind to spit out what it is exactly. Sleeping on it solved that issue: Why didn't you react to the ending song?
@@ShikiRyougi05 imo the manga has better writing quality (except the finale, which I slightly prefer in the anime). Ofc the anime has great animation, VAs and music which elevate it. But overall I prefer the manga. The anime cut a lot of scenes and dialogue and changed other things which harm the story and some characters, Mikasa most of all.
Also, marco i believe you can put a image on top of the anime a little bit faded instead of a black screen faded, many of the people who watched AOT did this and it was safe, but if you decide to use the faded black its all good, we are here to enjoy the music with you and thats fine.

This is one of the best shows to rewatch. Reading all of the manga and then experiencing the anime later has to be super interesting.
