Best 'Reaction' to this music suite. The best analysis, because you are currently reading the Manga, and your musical experience you described the themes accurately to the situation the characters face throughout the anime manga without having watched it besides 1 episode. Cheers
Wow! I clicked this video not knowing what to expect and I got both entertained and educated. What a great reaction and what a nuanced take on both the music and the manga. And I love how you were able to tie them together and describe the music perfectly without having watched the anime, truly impressive. Respect! I hope you'd post a review about the manga and share your opinion with us. I'd watch it in a heartbeat :)
33:12. Yep. Same motif. The first time (I believe) you listened to AoT music, specifically Youseebiggirl, you talked about companion tracks, tracks that compliment each other or are about the same event, but from a different perspective. I commented on that video that Youseebiggirl has a true companion track called Apple Seed. This song is Apple Seed, and you picked up the motif immediately.
I think what you said is right on the money and is why I'm so drawn to anime, especially mecha anime that's scored by people who write like Sawano and Kobayashi. The music and stories are so sincere and moving.
You should check out Made in Abyss as well as the rest of Kevin Penkin's works. He is one of the best OST composers in the industry right now and you would be sold on just the first track of the Made in Abyss OST.
if this is your first manga/anime, you will have such a good time. Mind blown, and the emotional rollercoaster taht you will have will be so epic. The rabbit hole in this one is very deep.
I watched the video already on the main channel but watched it again here in its entireity to support this new adventure, hoping to see it grow and bring more people aboard!
Sawano is an utter genius. Every Anime I've watched that he's composed has become my absolute FAVORITE. You should really check out Aldnoah.Zero's "No Differences" and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress' "KABANERIOFTHEIRONFORTRESS." Both incredibly underrated animes with soundtracks composed by Sawano!
Yoshimasa Terui did an incredible job there. I especially love his work on the Land of the Lustrous OP which has become one of my favorite openings. It's fitting he made a math rock song for a story about gemstones. The JJK S2 OST really has no dead spots and any series with his name listed is guaranteed a quality soundtrack.
@@aerodactallazzer you know ball, i used to listen his haisuinonasa work and the jjk ost just kept reminding me of that band no wonder why I loved it lol
Which song was your favorite? I personally love so much the second one (Before lights out) and Apple Seed. The vocal is amazing, and both songs really can convey the feeling very well.
Brother... Cowboy Bebop let's watch/reaction. To this day it's still heralded by many as the greatest ever made, and the music makes you uniquely qualified to give us a unique perspective on it!
with Youseebiggirl, i hear an upending of peace, a huge disturbance in, what is an already, crappy situation. It's anger, it's rage justified, and illumination.
Hey marco, since this is aot and we gotta enjoy sawano. You should really consider also listening to Before My Body is Dry and Blumenkarez. Theyre both really good songs and it would be wonderful for you to cover!
im still trying to figure out what gives aot its distinctive, "ethereal" feel. i have one theory yet: perhaps its how direct and simple everything seems at the start, with everything seeming so set perfectly and that only strength and staying on a direct path matters. However, as we learn more about the truth that surrounds each character we also see more places and more of how people move. we also see more of different types of creatures, from abnormal titans to the beast titan. in this way the author allows us to latch onto each new memory we gain and see it in our minds, connected to a place, character, theme or even scale (as shown with rod reiss and that arc of episodes)
while we're listening to anime music with german-Japan-ish lyric, might wanna check out Blumenkranz from Kill la Kill (both the original and the nZk ver.)
Hey Marco I recommend the Kill La Kill OST as its also by Sawano, also any of the anime soundtracks by Shiro Sagisu (Bleach, Berserk, Etc.) and any anime soundtracks by Kevin Penkin, (Made in Abyss, Rising of the Shield Hero, Tower of God)
Yes, it is AoT suite composed by Hiroyuki Sawano but it is still Hiroyuki Sawano. Meaning anything dealing with Sawano, we can talk about his other OST works and that includes Project EmU: Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. Or even his works with 86 (Eighty-Six), Solo Leveling, Re:Creators, and more. AoT OST is composed by Hiroyuki Sawano and anything dealing with Mr. Sawano is still talking about him, and his other OST works from different projects like OSTs from 86. One thing I need to correct you on; The Survey Corps absolutely does leave people behind. It actually happens quite a lot. Every mission beyond the wall incurs casualties, and they are all agonizingly aware that every move they make is at the cost of their comrades lives and also that if they make a wrong move those lives are wasted. It's always a gamble, but their only alternative is to accept inevitable death within the walls. They fight on in spite of that hopeless state of affairs. They spit in the face of those overwhelming odds. That is who the Survey Corps members are.
It's good that you paid attention to this topic. Firstly, it's hyped, secondly, there is really good and emotional music there. If you need anime compositions for reaction, here are some interesting options from me from dif anime with a bit context: "Naruto" is a cult anime with a cult soundtrack 1. Toshiro Masuda - Sadness And Sorrow. Usually plays when the main character-orphan experiences an acute feeling of loneliness and misunderstanding by peers who have family and friends. 2. Toshiro Masuda - Orochimaru No Theme. The theme of one of the best anime villains of the 2000s. 3. Takanashi Yasuharu - Senya. The theme of a deep character acting in the darkness to serve the light. 4. Takanashi Yasuharu - Akatsuki. The theme of one of the most popular groups of villains from the 2000s. I still get goosebumps and a feeling of tension from their presence in the frame 5. Takanashi Yasuharu - Keisei Gyakuten. Drive and battle 6. Takanashi Yasuharu - Utsusemi. When you see death and can't do anything "Death Note". A classic detective anime with a wonderful, memorable soundtrack. And overall, the soundtrack of this anime can easily fit into your everyday playlist. 1. Taniuchi Hideki - L's Theme. The theme of our brilliant detective during which we have hope for his ideas. Cult melody. 2. Taniuchi Hideki - Near no Theme. 3. Taniuchi Hideki - Light no Theme. "Re:Zero". The main character can return in time after death. 1. Kenichiro Suehiro - Requiem Of Silence. If the rest of the soundtrack of this anime is rather average, then this one touches the heart. It plays when the hero gets into a hopeless situation even with his ability, dying over and over again and returning he can't change anything and, completely desperate, just walks through the ruins with the body of his beloved in his arms. "Demon Slayer". A young anime that has attracted many fans thanks to its visual style and battle design. Synthesis of electronic music and Japanese motifs. Finding the original soundtrack might be a bit tricky, but I'll add it to the list just in case. You can use Samuel Kim's versions. 1. Demon Slayer: Rengoku Theme/Rengoku's final fight. The theme of an unbending man of duty with a fiery heart. 2. Tengen vs Gyutaro Final Fight Theme. When all was lost, reinforcements arrived in time. 3. Demon Slayer | Infinity Castle Theme. It was a trap and we have nowhere to run but we are ready
I'm not the biggest fan of the later seasons of the anime, but GODDAMN Sawano is just AMAZING. I highly recommend what he has composed for Gundam Unicorn
Second this. Gundam Unicorn is probably his best work and he's worked on a lot of mecha or mecha-adjacent series. I'd recommend the tracks "The Universe", " Mobile Armor", and "8thMob._Beginning_Orch-Ver.". The only reason it isn't more widely recognized is because Gundam is one of the longest running franchises in anime with a long built-up history and Unicorn is one of the more recent entries that is a direct sequel to a lot of the older stuff. Definitely worth watching after those or at least doing some catch-up research to familiarize yourself with the setting. If you want something more immediately available, I'd recommend his Project [emU] "MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM UNICORN" suite here on youtube that was performed live in front of the life size moving Gundam. Hard to think of how you can do something more grand. Another good video is '"The Witch from Mercury" and "Asticassia" Music Video'. I'm sure you'll love that given the powerful vocals. Gundam Witch from Mercury is also a good entry point into the franchise since it's an alternate timeline.
I initially found it hard to adjust to Kohta Yamamoto’s work in S4, but I’ve grown to love it SO MUCH. With the different direction S4 took (emphasized by the new art style), it works to have the music change up. But I personally feel the two musical styles mesh well-some of my favorite AoT songs are from the final season!
i had a thought. how was humanity progression on music like this? when is the first song like this happened? is it for a kingdom? a king? win a war? did they use many instrument?
Have you reacted or listened to "Vogel im Kaffig" by itself yet? It's one of the best in the AoT series, in my opinion, and there are other songs in the series that directly build from it, like "You See Big Girl."
I know you said that you won't do music that are not attached to like the medium, so its fine if you don't react to this in your channel but Ado who has done music for anime and she is a great artist to listen to. Her vocals are outstanding and every youtuber who has a expertise in regards to vocal training has been amazed by her singing. I think you would enjoy listening to some songs on your own time.
Truthfully, but the channel would revolve too much around AOT alone lol. Next he could pick a few more ost like Vogel im Käfig, 0sk, An Ordinary Day, or maybe opening songs.

it's just a way to describe a sound that feels warm or open. Sometimes the ways notes move can create different kind of emotional contexts or ideas. So, an honest sound feels...innocent..hopeful. etc. It's just me talking and saying words, I wouldn't attach too much to it because something I perceived is just perception if that makes sense.
I finished this manga and it was incredible by the way. Probably one of the best pieces of literally I have ever read.
Glad you liked it, I hope the anime blows your mind as well!
