    For anyone wondering The Landkreuzer P.1000 RATTE Has a 128mm (5 Inch) Anti Tank cannon at the front which means it was the same size as the main cannon from the "Panzer VIII Maus" And it has 2 (or 3 as shown in this video) 15mm Mauser Auto--Cannons at the back (and maybe top) capable of shredding smaller Vehicles to pieces and a Total of Eight 28mm flak 38 anti-air turrets to defend the Behemoth against air attacks, and its Main Cannon *The Dual 280mm (11 Inch) SK C/28* was from Germany's main Battleships.
    It also had Two 24 cylinder marine engines, the same engines that was used to power the U-Boat Submarines which would've given the Tank and unbelievable 16000 HorsePower that could've propelled it up to speeds of 40 km/ (25 mph).
    The Tank also would've come equipped with a Vehicle Bay that could hold 2 Motorcycles for scouting operations, it had its own Medical Room and even had its own bathroom, it was intended to have a Crew of 42 men.
    But a Tank of this size was doomed from the start. It was never built because despite being armed with Eight Anti-Aircraft the Tank would've still been a too large of a Target for enemy Airplanes to attack.

      Grand slam would obliterate the entire thing and would probably be overkill. Even a 1k bomb would make it inoperable most likely, and a few smaller bombs would, at a minimum, produce enough spalling to take out enough crew to knock it out or more likely would put enough stress on the frame that it just falls apart.

    To just to wrap a few mistakes up, I will try to correct it the most polite way.
    First mistake was the nashorn's gun. It was the 15cm howitzer cannon that you modelled and not the 8.8cm anti-tank gun that it originally mount. Also the hull looked a but different then the hummel.
    The pz ii luchs's turret was way too large. It was a 2 men turret that the luchs used and you almost made it as big as a 3 men turret.
    The ratte was never built. Only a few turrets for testing was built, but it was later mounted on the atlantic wall as static defense. The maus turrets was never planned to be mounted on the ratte. It was just an artist's concept but never planned. Instead they planned to place either ostwind turrets or open turreted quad 20mm on the back. Also the maus turrets looks like they are mounting 15cm guns in ur modell. That's a problem as well, since it was planned to be on the E-100, which development's started after the Ratte was rejected so it would have been impossible to be on the blueprints. Also the 15cm anti-tank gun was never finished. Just like the tiger ii's 10.5 cm cannon it had recoil problems. Maybe maus turrets with 12.8cm or d.w. 2 turrets with short 75mm would be a bit better, with the later one being a pretty common turret that was mounted on bunkers and railway defense as well.
    One last thing. The assault gun section had the stug iii with the long barrel 75mm gun in it which was never used as infantry support, but they used the short barrel 75mm as bunker buster. The stug iv was always used as a tank-killer and never as a infantry support since it never mounted the short 75mm.
    The other stuff looks pretty fine and correct as far as i know. Nice job
    Edit: i know the ratte's turret housing and guns were used for battleships but the loading system was pretty different for the ratte. Please don't hurt me.

    • @RapperFlo
      @RapperFlo 5 лет назад +25

      Hey good points. But I have to correct you on a small thing.
      Actually, the Stug III / IV was technically always "infantry support". The reasoning behind german assault guns was that they were attached to Infantry Divisions. As you described, in the beginning, they were used for bunker busting but later they were upgraded to the long 75mm to better deal with tanks. Stug IV was specifically designed to help Infantry to better deal with tanks.
      So although they were practically used as tank destroyers, they were still assault guns in german nomenclature and not tank-destroyers because they were never part of Anti-Tank Brigades.

    • @willdelta4292
      @willdelta4292 5 лет назад +3

      @@RapperFlo i used the common classification, 'cause with that in mind, the panther would be a heavy tank. Or the pershing should be never counted as a heavy tank. The first stug iii's were really planned to support infantry, so they tried it with the stug iv as well, but due to the low (compared to the stug iii) numbers of stug iv around 600-700 AFV were attached to anti-tank units. The rest was either in an infantry or the german called it schwere "heavy" mechanized divisions. But since 1100 were made (not counting the apc and StugH) and most of them was used as an anti-tank AFV this is why i said that. Also there was 300-400 stugH iv as well with the 10.5cm howitzer which were mostly placed in infantry units.
      But u have a fair point as well. And u r not arguing with me about how the Dora was a fake wooden mockup so take my like as well.

    The Coelian didn't make it past life-size wooden mockup stage, and examples of the turret didn't exist in any small production.
    The Elefant you have shown here is just a Ferdinand. There existed both a Ferdinand and an Elefant.
    You missed the Panzer IV/70 A & V, though I guess they are just Jagdpanzer IVs.
    The Jagdtiger had two or three different variants, and most of them had a back top machine gun facing forward.
    You didn't detail the Kampfpanzer arm at all, though it might not have been your intent.
    The Ratte didn't exist, unfortunately.
    Also it seems you forgot to add all of the vehicles which had wheels (while still having combat capability). Scout cars, armored cars, trucks, halftracks.
    There were some examples of vehicles, which though built on foreign platforms, were fully unique to Germany. Like the 105 howitzer built on top of the Char B1 Bis.

      It's the same tank, the anti infantry mg's were put as a request from tank crews after Kursk iirc. Ferdinand's the first name of Mr. Porsche, whose rejected Tiger I idea ended up getting rolled into service with a static casemate structure instead of a rotating turret and under the tank destroyer role. They got the name _Elefant_ in 1944 after those upgrades were installed. It's official designation was _Panzerjäger Tiger (p)_ and the ordnance designation was _Sonderkraftfahrzeug 184_ .

      The World needed five years to beat them, I think that's pretty impressive for a country that had armored vehicles that broke down every three minutes.
      Now, irony aside, I won't deny I did read that a lot, but about the heavy models, and back when people used books. Funny thing is, some of those books had been written by either British or American authors, and had no problem in clearly stating afterwards that keeping them in running order was a much needed but attainable chore. It's this second and quite relevant bit that didn't seem to quite make it to the _Internetz_ .

    It would have been really really really nice if all the various assault guns, flakpanzers etc. would have had a mention of which chassis they were built on. (Pz-II, Pz-38(t) etc...)
    Also, while it's admittedly fun to include stuff such as Maus and Ratte purely for size comparison, it would have been proper to emphasise that Ratte was merely a concept study (some would say fantasy) while Maus was basically a couple of prototypes that failed miserably. All the others entered at least limited series production and actually saw service.

Also, as Germany captured all of the existing Czech stock for their own use, was thereafter the main user of the tank (especially in action) and indeed most of the tanks and chassis were produced during German occupation, under German control and for German use, in the scope of WW2 it can be viewed as a "German tank" for all practical intents and purposes.
