So good to see Yellow in the spotlight. I still read Adventures, but the RBY-GSC arcs were my favorite. The battles were so creative and each trainer's specialities truly shone.

Yellow isn't the strongest Dex Holder but she is the most powerful. There is a subtle difference between power and strength. As mentioned in the video, in a regular battle, Yellow would never win but in a life or death situation, Yellow is either your best ally or your worst enemy. The video summarizes well the Yellow arc but doesn't really mention the other two big instances of Yellow being a smiling weapon of mass destruction. First one is referenced a bit at the end when she faces a new group of team Rocket who had to witness Yellow not only increasing her own Pokémon strength but the whole Viridian forest as well to defend Silver. Sird, probably the most dangerous antagonist from the whole manga flees, knowing that if they face Yellow, they will lose. Second instance is during the Battle frontier incident. The nine other dex holders are barely holding back the giant Kyogre monster with their Ultimate moves. Yellow asks the two Pikachus and Gold's Pichu to use Volt Tackle, and they immediately obliterate the monster. Yeah, you don't mess with Yellow! Oh and hi Bill!
A very profound response to my video. I greatly appreciate the time you have taken to give me such a in depth response. I can't say I disagree with your points. It's why in the end of outro, I made it a point to mention "powerful" when describing Ms. Amarillo Del Bosque Verde, also known as Yellow Caballero! As a content creator, I am mainly looking toward using words and descriptions, particularly in terms of what what to put in titles that can help this video gain traction. That's why I eventually went with the term "strongest". Although I suppose it turns out that it wasn't exactly as effective as I hoped it was in garnering views and draws. Good shout on jogging my memory! It's been years since I last read Emerald arc, so being reminded of what took place there really cements to me all the more just how powerful Yellow as a character really is. In a way, it's a double-edged sword considering how it serves as causing complications in writing when such a OP character is put in the fray. I got the implication that if she had used it at full strength, he would have died. Which is hilarious later on when she DOES use it full strength against Charon, and he comes out of it even less beat up than Cyrus was.

Great vid. From reading the first 3 volumes, I think Yellow's the most unique protagonist. Every one of their battles is just really unlike anything in the series, while sometimes it got on my nerves. The clash with Lance is one of my favorite moments of the arc though and great job talking about it.

What defines "the strongest" in Pokemon is nebulous and Specials explores the distinctions a lot between each of the characters. If I remember correctly, Red is the best battler, Blue is the best trainer, and Yellow has the most potential. There are others, but I do think that every dex holder has a different niche that they fill out that gives them a unique claim to that title. Also, hi Bill!
I love how each Pokedex holder has specialities that they excel the most in. Adds a lot of unique charm to their character and makes them all the more memorable. I appreciate the dynamic with Yellow in terms of being the "healer", which is reflected by her meek and overall peaceful approach towards situations. With the other charm being that under specific situations, she can become the strongest of all time. Makes me love this series all the more! Also Bill thanks you for the welcome. I put the word 'originally' in quotes earlier because she was technically introduced earlier on, as she was the little girl that Red saved during his big fight with Giovanni at the Viridian gym back in Red Adventures. But because she wears the hat throughout the entirety of Yellow, this isn't immediately apparent until later. 3. While she returns Red's pikachu to him later, she eventually gets her own pikachu. Together, Red's pikachu and Yellow's pikachu create an egg which hatches into Pichu (I forgot who got the pichu).

Great video! I had the briefest pokemon manga phase in middle school (?) where I found the nicknames and stories pretty interesting I only ever got the first issues of the sinnoh, johto and kanto ones I don’t remember the names necessarily but yeah

(Also later picked up a Heatran in one hand and meteor'd it into Giratina on its home turf!)

I have completely dropped all pretenses of addressing her as a boy or any male pronouns since that is essentially the manga's worst kept secret. Could you please tell me where I said such a thing? @@rg6637 Ah, I see your point of confusion now. That's just my microphone struggling to fully registering the "s". This is a common issue I face when doing voiceovers because every now and then, the "s" in my pronunciations' end up getting muffled, causing it to come off as a lisp when I don't have any. It forces me to redo entire voiceovers at times which is super annoying. That said, I can tell you that if you listen closely with headphones, you will notice the "s" being muffled. Although the one in 4:35 literally has the S being drowned out by the transition sound effect I had put in place as the next scene began (which is my mistake). The same can be said in you recounting the paragraph you have transcribed, although there is something I must correct you on. "Using her fishing rod, SHE (S is a bit muffled) swings Pikachu's Pokeball through a narrow opening, giving HIM ("him" being Pikachu since I am talking about his Pikachu here and Red's Pikachu is a boy) a clear view of their surroundings. SHE (I said it clearly; the transition sound effect simply muffled the S a bit) then proceeds to view Pikachu's thoughts to learn what she is up against". Regardless, I understand where you are coming from. I will make sure to be more vigilant as I'm doing these voiceovers. I have also learnt how said sfx can muffle certain sounds of my voice at times so I'll be sure to avoid such. I thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Please stop interchangeably using male and female pronouns for the same character. You used he, she, him, and her for Yellow. Doing that makes it hard to understand or listen to.
I'm afraid I don't follow. I have consistently addressed Yellow as "she" and "her" throughout this entire video.
I have completely dropped all pretenses of addressing her as a boy or any male pronouns since that is essentially the manga's worst kept secret.
Could you please tell me where I said such a thing? Perhaps I am missing something and if so, will definitely keep in mind for my next videos. Regardless, thank you for the comment!
@rg6637 Ah, I see your confusion now. Whenever I switch up to "he", "him", I am referring to Red's Pikachu. Throughout this arc, Yellow travels with his Pikachu. That's why I mention stuff like "finding his injured Pikachu in Professor Oak's lab" as he is Red's Pokémon and Red is a guy. Hope this explains! 😁

@@TheUziGunner No, that’s not the case. As I posted in my other comment, you say “he” when referring to Yellow at 2:31 , 2:44 , and 4:35. I stopped re-watching after 5:13 because in the same sentence you switch between male and female pronouns while referring to Yellow and possibly Red’s Pikachu given that your antecedents are unclear in the second sentence. “Using HER fishing rod, HE swings Pikachu’s pokeball through a narrow opening giving HIM a clear view of their surroundings. HE then proceeds to view Pikachu’s thoughts to learn what SHE’s up against.”
@@rg6637 Ah, I see your point of confusion now. That's just my microphone struggling to fully registering the "s". This is a common issue I face when doing voiceovers because every now and then, the "s" in my pronunciations' end up getting muffled, causing it to come off as a lisp when I don't have any. It forces me to redo entire voiceovers at times which is super annoying.
That said, I can tell you that if you listen closely with headphones, you will notice the "s" being muffled. Although the one in 4:35 literally has the S being drowned out by the transition sound effect I had put in place as the next scene began (which is my mistake). The same can be said in you recounting the paragraph you have transcribed, although there is something I must correct you on. "Using her fishing rod, SHE (S is a bit muffled) swings Pikachu's Pokeball through a narrow opening, giving HIM ("him" being Pikachu since I am talking about his Pikachu here and Red's Pikachu is a boy) a clear view of their surroundings. SHE (I said it clearly; the transition sound effect simply muffled the S a bit) then proceeds to view Pikachu's thoughts to learn what she is up against".
Regardless, I understand where you are coming from. I will make sure to be more vigilant as I'm doing these voiceovers. I have also learnt how said sfx can muffle certain sounds of my voice at times so I'll be sure to avoid such. I thank you for bringing this to my attention.
