Something I want to say about Ash's original hat... that was a hat that Ash won in an event/sweepstakes thing. The logo is apparently the brand of the Pokemon League. It isn't some family symbol, it isn't special, and it isn't something that could only show up in the Ketchem lineage. It is a basic Pokemon League Hat that Ash won, and then never wore again.

It completely destroys the point of an entirely new character with a different upbringing if Ash does become Liko's father as the story would just become a continuation of the father's story. What I think would be more interesting is to see Liko battle Ash at the end of the show just as a surprise for long time fans as they both duke it out on the battlefield and see who the victor is or some other scenario might play out, we don't know.
naw, original dragonball and dbz were a good example of a shònen anime doing a timeskip and introducing new generations but keeping the focus on the original main character

This is the problem. They kept Ash around for so long that people are having a hard time letting go. They shouldn’t have kept him around for so long and gotten rid of him like that. It was a bad idea on the company. It would’ve been better if they actually let Ash age and made him a member of Liko’s family even if he’s not her dad he could’ve been a fun uncle or something that encouraged her to start her journey or something.
@@HouseLyranderthe pokemon Special/Adventures manga is the exact same. Every arc is set in a region and has a different protagonist. Overall, the manga is more mature and the quality of the story and battles is a lot better than the anime. I encourage you to read it if you are interested

Pokémon has *1253 episodes,* and *23* movies. And every time a new installment of the series airs, it's a completely new story with barely any connections to the previous ones, other than Team Rocket, the existence of Pokémon and, you guessed it, Ash. And maybe a few cameos or mentions. You *cannot* compare these two. They're fundamentally different.
If their not going to make Ash a few years older then I would rather not see him at all. It's as if the writers see keeping Ash 10 years old forever as the funniest joke in the community when in reality it's incredibly frustrating.

I agree. its far more reasonable for a person different from Ash or his lineage to be a trainer and it also signifies how the next generation can move on by leaving the previous generation.
My theory now: - Pokemon Horizons was set some months (or years) before the Events of Pokemon SV. As you can see on Episode 10 (at preview) Nemona seems battling with Brassius to get her badge. - Yep, Ash is back. However, in the 4th movie of Alternative Timeline Movie Series. (Actually the continuity from the Movie, I choose you) - Maybe, Ash was traveling somewhere, off cam. Catching some new Pokemon, meet his rivals and more.
Some leakers have actually hinted that HZ might be set in AU, hence if Satoshi will reappear it will be from M20 continuity. Also, the biggest hint so far was when Amethio said of Friede's Pikachu "Are you toying with me?" meaning he is not aware of Satoshi's Pikachu defeating Dande.
Or maybe that’s his dad and her mom is ashes and they can be siblings without knowing it and that clip is to show her unknown relationship with ash cause his dad got him a hat with the same logo so maybe
Or a small story arc where Ash travels with Liko & Roy for a short time. Like what Lyra, Alexa, Todd Snap & Ritchie all did. Each of those characters traveled with Ash's group for a short time & left.
Oh please Ash won't be in Pokémon Horizons Series at all which I believe in that because there's no reason for Ash to even be in his series either! Don't even mention the Champion Rank tournament either because if Ash was in the tournament Ash would easily beat everyone which that wouldn't be fair to the other characters which Ash's character would be once again the Superior Character then everyone else! That's one way to ruin New Characters in a New Series! That's why Ash shouldn't never be in this Series!
@@leahschaffer7646 Okay but that completely discredits Ash's journey. He earned the title of World Champion, as well as title of Alola's Champion. He earned those titles. He deserves to have the spotlight during those moments, similar to Leon when he was undefeated. Making Ash similar to Red though would be a good way to do things. Have him disappear and be rumored as a legendary trainer at the very very end.
It would be cool if we could continue following ash on his journey and focus on other characters their journeys every now and then as well. I love how they kept this open. It leaves a lot of possibilities.
Maybe they’ll keep AU Ash around for the movies, to carry on OG Ash’s legacy. After all, AU Ash switched out his hat for the original hat in The Distant Blue Sky. I feel like there has to be a reason they made that special, so maybe that’s it. We’ll know when and if they eventually make another movie.

I think that it would be cool if they did what the pokemon adventures manga did when adapting yellow. Basically Ash(subbing for red) would be missing and Pikachu is here and trying to find ash. Although this would probably take too much attention away from the main story it would be cool to see (at least to me)
I have a thought its mentioned in a horizojs episode that lico had a thing for adventure just like her grand father add this to the fact that lico has similarities to ash makes ash being her grandfather make sense
the way i would want to see it is a moment sort of like red on mount moon. you gotta have a moment where she confronts an adult ash (between 16 -25) and have an epic battle between them. you can make it like ash is depressed because he doesnt know what to do after winning the pokemon league and he is traveling around the world to find strong opponents to battle. or something similar to that
i think its a huge huge huge missed opportunity if ash isnt in this anime, or isnt even mentioned. since its pokemon she has to at least fight him or meet him one, right?
Ash will be the Dumbledore in this saga. If he really became what he desired... I'm foreseeing an epic gathering of pokemon all around the world just to pay their respects and honor this great boy, who gave us all not only one of the best adventures for more than 20 years, but also made possible for several generations to connect and talk about him and his world. I expect Arceus to assist at that event as the head honcho of them all, followed by Mew Mewtwo and all the rest behind, from normal, to legendaries, and make Ho-Ho the one who takes Ash to heaven, because that the only place he is going to be.
The fact is everyone will feel the same way as I do since I start watching this new series I feel like something big is missing on the dish and that is ash its like a dish without proper salt and spices
Now, this is entirely dependent on how far into the anime we get in Pokemon Horizons from ash's adventures in the Galor region but I put forth the professor Ash Ketchum took on Professor Oak's role as the grandfather of our main characters rival since last race at Roy is actually pitched in the marketing that I've seen personally as being the main character so what if Alex is either the Sun or son-in-law of Ash Ketchum

Rules of anime and RPG’s no one tells you about, the girls always have a family, the men have half or a broken family, or a mysterious backstory that’s not easily explained as to why one of the parents is missing

Liko's Mother is a Teacher which Liko just confirmed that in episode 11! Liko's Father Alex is a Painter which he works at home! Roy's parents are unknown!
In this case, it was just simple to not have a dad show up. Like I think they just could not come up with any story for it. They said he exists though.
I feel like Ash will return in Pokemon Horizons maybe in the final episode of Pokemon Horizons when there is a big final battle and a disaster/Chaos happens. Ash will return and I think he will be much older and he will have his own Pokemon Team which will consists of all his pokemon throughout his journeys. I bet Greninja will be in his team and he will bond with him and have a Legendary Battle and also Pikachu as well.

The entire point of Ash's character was how he was a nobody, he wasn't related to anyone important. Which makes sense with how Ash's first rival was Gary, Professor Oak's Grandson. He was a nobody, but through hardships, he never gave up and learned from his lessons. It might have taken a while, but Ash was able to become the very best like no one ever was, because he never gave up, learned from his mistakes, and kept on training to be the best he can. The whole point of Ash Ketchum, was that anyone could be the best with enough effort. To have Liko be related to Ash at all, would completely ruin the message that Ash sent. So I can say I understand why they want it to happen. It will not happen, and is probably better of not happening. Besides, if Ash does come back, it would make more sense for him to be the Leon of the next series, not the parents
Really crackshot theory here but hear me out. Ash and Liko are brother and sister. We never see Ash's father and we don't know who Liko's mom is yet. There's probably a million things I'm overlooking here, but it's an idea.

the whole point of the ending of Ash's story was that he was to eternally stay young, naive and always starting new adventures so bringing him back as a adult having wrapped up his adventuring would go directly against that. The ending of the original series reminded me heavily of the ending of Calvin and Hobbes in what it aimed to accomplish. His character never truly aged for a reason in the anime and bringing him back older would go against the fundamental intentions of his character. I couldn't see him ever being brought back just on such. I feel like the biggest question now is how previous gen/region characters are to be handled under the idea that aging up said characters could inadvertently put age on Ash. It then comes into question if the writers care to said extent or if any precautions of such cases has already been thought through if they are to ever be brought back or up to any extent
If the Pokemon Company really wanted to tear at our heartstrings....Liko and Roy along with maybe Penny, Nemona and Arven encounter Ash and Pikachu down in Area Zero as Robots. AI Ash is the Final Battle instead of Sada or Turo and what had happened was Ash and Pikachu "died" in that territorial struggle along with the Professors. The Professors in secret had made AI copies of themselves as well as AI Copies of The Heroes protecting The Koraidon/Miraidon of AZ. Liko tgen goes back or forward in time to where Ash and Pikachu were truly sent and rescues them if still alive(Possible Gen 9 DLC Spoilers of the Professors' here) or they truly died in that struggle as the Pokemon Company's final Goodbye to Ketchum and if this actually happens then we are all gonna feel sad.
As someone who used to ship Ash with Misty back in the day, after all that has been said and done, I can say with full confidence that Ash and Serena would be the most meaningful couple. May was nice but the two of them were friends at best, same for Dawn. Ash and Iris didn't get along at times so that was DOA. Lana, cute I guess, but nope. Serena has legitimate love, and Ash did reciprocate at times even though it didn't seem like it. Ash and Misty had crushes on each other at best, and they both handled it poorly.
Ash is still 10 or maybe 13 on Mt. Silver. Liko will climb that Mountain eventually to face him...In the meantime let us all move on from Ash Ketchum and try to enjoy this new story as well as it's characters for what it is. It's already off to a better start than the OG Pokemon series and Liko is a much more interesting Character than Ash started out as lol. That kid who would use Thunderbolt on Ground type Pokemon or who would Use Harden vs Harden in a Metapod Battle. I really wish Pokemon told The Adventures Red Manga which is the literal and official story of Pocket Monsters...and we saw The Corrupt Kanto Gym Leaders/Team Rocket Members as well as the Genocidal Elite Four and The Pokemon Association whom was a part of The Government. But I get it...a kids show and they couldn't but in the 90s?! I'd say it would of been fine just toned down a lil bit.

I came up with my own theory. Both ash and her and siblings and that their parents had a falling out once the 2 were infants. It would explain where ash’s dad was during the time and that the 2 look related.
Ash will get a Girlfriend at the end of the Main Pokemon Series kay which Ash girlfriend was already Hinted on which would indeed be Serena which was confirmed by the writers years ago! We don't know when the Main Pokemon Series will end either!? 🤷👌

I just thought of this but what if Liko is ash's sister? They never showed ash's dad(besides Mr Mime) in the anime nor Liko's mom. In the journeys episode where Ash was supposed to meet his dad it never showed his dad because Ash was late. What if it was Alex. Ash's mom could have divorced Alex and he could have just taken his daughter and moved overseas. That could explain the hair clip resembling the og symbol on Ash's hat.
The creators of the anime literally said that Ash will always remain 10 and that even if he does return he will be 10. Also he has been the main character for 20+ years I think Ash can take a break
That's where the plot is we don't know about in Pokemon Horizon, "what year is it?" like is this anime take place 5-10 years after Ash became Pokemon Masters? Think about it, why Ash want to have a family so soon after he became the Pokemon Master, but his journey to be the "greatest" is a very long journey.

Ash is 10, confirmed by producers. (I wouldn’t say creators because Satoshi Tajiri is/was the creator). I swear the amount of fans that don’t do research is painful to witness. Side note: If he’s coming back to the anime and he’s forever 10, then this story takes place either the same time as the original or just after.
Hate to say it but there not gonna bring ash back there gonna keep the focus on the new characters and don’t get me wrong I too wish more adventures of ash and pikachu. But Pokémon company did say they were going to move on from ash and focus on a new character now.
I would've hated to see Ash be Liko's father. Ash didn't have any hint of romantic interest in any of the girls on the show, it would've been super forced. I really like the idea of her looking up to Ash as a trainer.
something that would be neat is if Ash was the grandpa or something and alot more time passed than we think. then take the paradox stuff to a whole new level. make Ash from the past pulled into the present/future where Lyko is. even if not related i think itd be neat to have that generational gap like in pokemon 2000

I don't agree. But here are my thoughts on their relations. Brother & Sister, no. Cousins, maybe. Distant relatives, sure. Maybe they'll encounter each other on their journeys & actually find out that their families lost touch with each other a long time ago. Maybe they have a common ancestor who had kids & somehow their families got separated. I know that's a lot of family theories, but it's just a theory. We'll see down the road.

Ash has been the protagonist of Pokemon for 25 years and has finally become the very best like no one ever was, which puts him in a very special place in my heart as Pokemon was the very first anime I ever watched so the fact that Ash will no longer be the protagonist of Pokemon makes me really sad but at the same time I understand since Ash has become a Champion, I would've liked it better if they continued the series of Ash becoming a Pokemon Master but unfortunately, they brought in a new pair of protagonists to take over. To be honest, I have mixed feelings about this since I've watched this anime since I was a kid so the thought of Ash not being the protagonist and will no longer be appearing in the series anymore is still sad to me.

Japanese medias love moving to new concepts and new protags to further the world of their anime franchise's. its the main reason why characters like "Son Goku" of Dragon Ball Super get stupider since the writers have to milk Son Goku's god awful progression to no where with out a true end to his character its why having a main character exists for 5,000 episodes is a very stupid idea since there progression is based on the writers to make up fights and plots with out the main character having a true end. anime and manga fanboys want their favorite anime and manga characters to be in limbo without end Forever. A main characters story has to end and people have to move on its reality but the truth hurts.

Something I want to say about Ash's original hat... that was a hat that Ash won in an event/sweepstakes thing. The logo is apparently the brand of the Pokemon League. It isn't some family symbol, it isn't special, and it isn't something that could only show up in the Ketchem lineage. It is a basic Pokemon League Hat that Ash won, and then never wore again.
We need an older ash as a stronger, older version of himself. I think he would make a great gym leader.

It completely destroys the point of an entirely new character with a different upbringing if Ash does become Liko's father as the story would just become a continuation of the father's story. What I think would be more interesting is to see Liko battle Ash at the end of the show just as a surprise for long time fans as they both duke it out on the battlefield and see who the victor is or some other scenario might play out, we don't know.
naw, original dragonball and dbz were a good example of a shònen anime doing a timeskip and introducing new generations but keeping the focus on the original main character

This is the problem. They kept Ash around for so long that people are having a hard time letting go. They shouldn’t have kept him around for so long and gotten rid of him like that. It was a bad idea on the company. It would’ve been better if they actually let Ash age and made him a member of Liko’s family even if he’s not her dad he could’ve been a fun uncle or something that encouraged her to start her journey or something.
JoJo probably did it best by having a new cast for each series, bit having members of the old cast still come back as mentor characters.

Pokémon has *1253 episodes,* and *23* movies. And every time a new installment of the series airs, it's a completely new story with barely any connections to the previous ones, other than Team Rocket, the existence of Pokémon and, you guessed it, Ash. And maybe a few cameos or mentions.
You *cannot* compare these two. They're fundamentally different.

Ash will be the Dumbledore in this saga. If he really became what he desired... I'm foreseeing an epic gathering of pokemon all around the world just to pay their respects and honor this great boy, who gave us all not only one of the best adventures for more than 20 years, but also made possible for several generations to connect and talk about him and his world.
I expect Arceus to assist at that event as the head honcho of them all, followed by Mew Mewtwo and all the rest behind, from normal, to legendaries, and make Ho-Ho the one who takes Ash to heaven, because that the only place he is going to be.

I feel like Ash will return in Pokemon Horizons maybe in the final episode of Pokemon Horizons when there is a big final battle and a disaster/Chaos happens. The entire point of Ash's character was how he was a nobody, he wasn't related to anyone important. Which makes sense with how Ash's first rival was Gary, Professor Oak's Grandson. He was a nobody, but through hardships, he never gave up and learned from his lessons. It might have taken a while, but Ash was able to become the very best like no one ever was, because he never gave up, learned from his mistakes, and kept on training to be the best he can. The whole point of Ash Ketchum, was that anyone could be the best with enough effort. To have Liko be related to Ash at all, would completely ruin the message that Ash sent. So I can say I understand why they want it to happen. It will not happen, and is probably better of not happening. Besides, if Ash does come back, it would make more sense for him to be the Leon of the next series, not the parents

the whole point of the ending of Ash's story was that he was to eternally stay young, naive and always starting new adventures so bringing him back as a adult having wrapped up his adventuring would go directly against that. The ending of the original series reminded me heavily of the ending of Calvin and Hobbes in what it aimed to accomplish. His character never truly aged for a reason in the anime and bringing him back older would go against the fundamental intentions of his character. I couldn't see him ever being brought back just on such.
I feel like the biggest question now is how previous gen/region characters are to be handled under the idea that aging up said characters could inadvertently put age on Ash. It then comes into question if the writers care to said extent or if any precautions of such cases has already been thought through if they are to ever be brought back or up to any extent

If the Pokemon Company really wanted to tear at our heartstrings....Liko and Roy along with maybe Penny, Nemona and Arven encounter Ash and Pikachu down in Area Zero as Robots. AI Ash is the Final Battle instead of Sada or Turo and what had happened was Ash and Pikachu "died" in that territorial struggle along with the Professors. The Professors in secret had made AI copies of themselves as well as AI Copies of The Heroes protecting The Koraidon/Miraidon of AZ. Liko tgen goes back or forward in time to where Ash and Pikachu were truly sent and rescues them if still alive(Possible Gen 9 DLC Spoilers of the Professors' here) or they truly died in that struggle as the Pokemon Company's final Goodbye to Ketchum and if this actually happens then we are all gonna feel sad.

As someone who used to ship Ash with Misty back in the day, after all that has been said and done, I can say with full confidence that Ash and Serena would be the most meaningful couple. May was nice but the two of them were friends at best, same for Dawn. Ash and Iris didn't get along at times so that was DOA. Lana, cute I guess, but nope. Serena has legitimate love, and Ash did reciprocate at times even though it didn't seem like it. Ash and Misty had crushes on each other at best, and they both handled it poorly.

Liko will climb that Mountain eventually to face him...In the meantime let us all move on from Ash Ketchum and try to enjoy this new story as well as it's characters for what it is. It's already off to a better start than the OG Pokemon series and Liko is a much more interesting Character than Ash started out as lol. That kid who would use Thunderbolt on Ground type Pokemon or who would Use Harden vs Harden in a Metapod Battle. I really wish Pokemon told The Adventures Red Manga which is the literal and official story of Pocket Monsters...and we saw The Corrupt Kanto Gym Leaders/Team Rocket Members as well as the Genocidal Elite Four and The Pokemon Association whom was a part of The Government. But I get it...a kids show and they couldn't but in the 90s?! I'd say it would of been fine just toned down a lil bit.
I was extremely pissed when I found out that Pokemon didn't allow us to have an older Ash I thought instead of Asher's father ghosting him every time can get a more active father who actually spend time with his daughter

I came up with my own theory. Both ash and her and siblings and that their parents had a falling out once the 2 were infants. It would explain where ash’s dad was during the time and that the 2 look related.

I just thought of this but what if Liko is ash's sister? They never showed ash's dad(besides Mr Mime) in the anime nor Liko's mom. In the journeys episode where Ash was supposed to meet his dad it never showed his dad because Ash was late. What if it was Alex. Ash's mom could have divorced Alex and he could have just taken his daughter and moved overseas. That could explain the hair clip resembling the og symbol on Ash's hat.

The creators of the anime literally said that Ash will always remain 10 and that even if he does return he will be 10. Also he has been the main character for 20+ years I think Ash can take a break

That's where the plot is we don't know about in Pokemon Horizon, "what year is it?" like is this anime take place 5-10 years after Ash became Pokemon Masters? Think about it, why Ash want to have a family so soon after he became the Pokemon Master, but his journey to be the "greatest" is a very long journey.
Excuse me but Ash's goal is nothing but a joke to me now because that's no way that Ash is going to meet all the Pokémon in the entire Pokemon World which is a impossible Goal to achieve so hopefully Ash changes his goal to become a Fire Type Pokemon Master instead! 😢👌

I would've hated to see Ash be Liko's father. Ash didn't have any hint of romantic interest in any of the girls on the show, it would've been super forced. I really like the idea of her looking up to Ash as a trainer.

Ikr if they throw him in everyone will just pay attention to him all the time as if she's not the main character. Even if he was her dad he's not gonna be a big character. At this point you're kind of ruining it for yourselves not enjoying the series because you're too busy looking for ash every second. Ash has been the protagonist of Pokemon for 25 years and has finally become the very best like no one ever was, which puts him in a very special place in my heart as Pokemon was the very first anime I ever watched so the fact that Ash will no longer be the protagonist of Pokemon makes me really sad but at the same time I understand since Ash has become a Champion, I would've liked it better if they continued the series of Ash becoming a Pokemon Master but unfortunately, they brought in a new pair of protagonists to take over. To be honest, I have mixed feelings about this since I've watched this anime since I was a kid so the thought of Ash not being the protagonist and will no longer be appearing in the series anymore is still sad to me.

The Writers already Hinted on the Main Pokemon Series ending which is the only way for Ash and Serena to become a couple because it's obvious that it's clearly inappropriate for a 10 Year old to date which means that Ash and all the other characters will eventually age in the Main Series Final!
I'm still convinced that Ash is actually Roy's dad. It fits well with one ship that I adore more than Amourshipping. (That's your only hint.)
