    Love your food content! Also when my husband and I were in Manchester last weekend you inspired me to go for a run around the city. We loved it - such friendly runners there too. Love these videos and definitely making me love my running again! Thanks Holly!

    I have to thank you. I have been following you for a while and I finally had the courage to work out at the gym today! It's been so intimidating bc there are so many gym Bros lol. (You girls know what I mean) But today I told myself to just focus on my goals and my own workout and that I have every right to be working out there too! You have been such an inspiration and I just want to say thank you for being so honest and vulnerable. 🩷 Ya! And if you ever venture out to Kentucky there are beautiful trails and lots to see, I'd be happy to show you around 🩷.

    I absolutely love your videos. I’m a health and fitness coach and I barely watch any fitness accounts anymore (cause it’s just a lot when you do it yourself all day to also watch on RUclips lol), but I LOVE watching your videos. I love watching your journey as you’re in LA now and I just love your energy and vibe!

    I've just started using exfoliating gloves when cleansing and it's a game changer, not too harsh like using an exfoliating cleanser which I find drys the skin out too much. Also gave up make up brushes cause they just hold too much gunk even if they're regularly washed. Change pillow cases each week wash hair regularly because hair goes on our pillows and so do our faces. And any face cloths that get used to wash face get used once then chucked in the washing basket. As many makeup free days as possible are best and to make you feel better we actually can't see your skin imperfections very much so don't worry about it so much we're all human and we all go through similar experiences so we understand having off days about body image too. Much love. Love your videos.

      @hollyb_fitness  3 месяца назад +33

      Hello, so first of all I want to say I personally feel like this comment reads very negatively. I think you saying 'she only worked a couple of years' really discredits the fact that number one she studied for multiple years to qualify which is an extremely challenging thing to do and takes serious dedication. She did then practise and now runs a 1-1 clinic for women to help with their nutrition which I think can be extremely beneficial for girls following me! I personally think the content she creates is very inspiring and educational and it's helped me massively. Hence why I recommended her and still would.

    • @gagglesas
      @gagglesas 3 месяца назад +22

      @@hollyb_fitness I am a doctor so know the difference between getting the degree and then actual life experience as a doctor. Not discrediting her nutritional advice which i’m aware she did extra study into but I feel quite strongly re ‘medical influencers’, who don’t even work as doctors, especially compared to other doctors who have done further study into gynaecology to actually be a pcos/endometriosis specialist etc

    • @hollyb_fitness
      @hollyb_fitness  3 месяца назад +3

      @@gagglesas I obviously won’t argue with you as a doctor because you are clearly far more qualified than me and know better in the subject area! On a previous video I spoke about my experience with my diagnosis and how I saw a specialist for this and stressed how important that is. This was a recommendation for the girls to follow as like I mentioned I’ve found her content helpful!

    Hi Holly, Thank you for your video!
    I am suffering from PCOS myself + Hypothyroid, and had experience with different types of activities, from running everyday to gym 12 years leading to bodybuilding competitions, to running half marathons + strength, and now back to the gym. Honestly, what Ive noticed is focusing on cardio always made my symptoms worse. I´d suffer from amenorrhea, my hunger levels are uncontrollable, bloating, digestive issues.. Thats why I started gym 12 years ago at the first place (I did not know about PCOS and thyroid issues back then). But feeling better, especially with insulin resistance, is really connected to muscle mass, and unfortunately cardio significantly reduces it.
    I am back at lifting 4-5 times a week for 3 months (up from 2-3 times during half marathon training) as we moved to Dubai and its hard to run here, but honestly, it made a huge difference, with a proper nutrition of course. I miss running, but I really don't miss PCOS symptoms :)
    I hope this comment helps others to try something new and maybe it will work for them too!

    I’m a Type 1 diabetic, and for blood sugar management for me insulin sensitivity is very important. When eating out, you will consume more fats, which in turn increases overall insulin resistance - so it’s not necessarily spikes, it’s more that your body will struggle to deal with the your sugar levels and they will end up being higher on the long term. But it depends, I’m not a dietitian, so can’t say. But I know that lower fat diets do support insulin sensitivity in the majority of cases. Again, not medical or nutritional advice here.

  • @jomichel8388

    I‘d be curious to know if you‘ve ever tried Inositol or Medformin. They’re great to regulate my insulin resistance for pcos as they make me much less hangry and emotionally balanced. The estrogen & anti-testosterone birth control pill has also helped me a lot. And completely agree with you about the carbs, I did keto for half a year which basically „cured“ my pcos (i got periods regularly & felt emotionally balanced) however it‘s not a fun lifestyle so I won’t be doing that again

It is pain free, they may not tell you then if you have PCOS but when I had mine I got a good enough indication from the ultra sound technician, and it's better to know if you have it, as it helps you manage any symptoms you may experience due to it/ understand what may be better for you. It will be ok, I can assure you. :)

    You made it crystal clear that you love endurance activities. That's awesome.
    Have you ever heard of a lady named Paula Newby-Fraser? She is known as the "Queen of Kona" in the Iron Man endurance community.
    During her career, she racked up 24 Ironman wins and eight Ironman World Championship wins.
    She was a beast and is often listed as one of the greatest female endurance athletes of all time.
    The reason I bring her up is not just because she's a female athlete with lots of success in the activities you are interested in, but also because she earned a majority of those wins while being on a very, very low-carb diet.
    She is a great example that you can have world-class endurance and energy without eating carbohydrates.
    In other words, you don't have to worry about having low energy if you cut out your carbohydrates.
    Having said that, you definitely will experience some amount of low energy during the first month as you are transitioning to the new diet.
    But after the sugar detox and transition period, your energy will be just fine.
    If you want to continue eating carbohydrates for other reasons, that's totally understandable. I am mainly just pointing out that very low carbohydrate diets can produce world-class energy levels.
    Peace and love. ✌🏼❤
