I really appreciate the way you approach this topic. What is the point of having variable equipment choices or characters with unique abilities if you can just brute force the game and win every fight? 41:00
This fight is one of the few well known difficulty spikes in the game; Another one being the ID fight we had several episodes ago. However once you pack Seal and Fire protection it's not too bad. You also get to use some more 'advanced' strats in this fight such as using boost on Elly since every time she gets a turn, she basically undoes one of Shakhan's heals with her 1000+ damage spells (last time I've played, she was doing up to 4k damage with Aerods with only 1 PowerMagic). If you bring Elly you can also give Deathblower 1 to Bart given that his omnigear is very strong right now. Then once you figure out that Shakhan's healing move becomes a counter when he's low on HP, all you have to do is chill until he disconnects and burst him down then.
I really hate how the metagaming/powergaming mindset of online games crept into single player experiences. I'm a very long time MMO/League player so i saw how it came to be and i understand the logic behind it in a competitive setting. But in single player games i'm gonna do whatever silly build or play whichever character however i feel like it lol. Can't imagine how annoying it must be to be constantly told what to do as a streamer. I personally enjoy your playthroughs both cause your stream and community are fun and both cause you usually play games completely different than i do. Watching someone play exactly like me wouldn't be interesting at all.
