Im not american, but some of those people coming down the bus look in better condition than many homeless ive seen in my trips there. Some of them even have a phone and i suppose paid service lmao. This is why they dont stay in mexico, why work hard in mexico when you can live rent free in the US?

That's because long-term homeless in the US often have medical problems like mental and drug disorders making it where they cannot function without some regimented intervention. Many of the migrants are deceived by their smugglers, for whom they pay money to help them travel to the border, that jobs will instantly be provided to them, food, clothing, housing, etc. This isn't true in many parts of the US, but NYC has put in more effort to shelter the migrants than other places...which is why they choose to go there instead.

To be fair, both states are incredibly expansive, so the migrants are more spread out. In NY, they're all clustered, making a bigger mess.
