Many times his daughter [Svetlana] would call stalin in his office and tell him - "comrade stalin , you have an order to see me this weekend. This order shoul be quickly done." And stalin would respond - "of course comrade Svetlana, youre order will be quickly satisfied"

Once director showed up and set in front of him Stalin took out his matches and the pipe. Its more complicated than that. Sure he massively expanded the arms industry, he also built the autobahn, established public works programmes, effectively made it so companies had to hire nsdap members whether they liked it or not (and millions of germans were nsdap members).

      @@mappingshaman5280 The Autobahn was started before he was leader. And forcing companies to take more workers is good for the workers, but bad for productivity and can be very damaging in the long term. The only reason his actions worked is because he geared the entire nation for war and took out massive loans whcih he would later pay via plundering other nations. It's hardly a good thing.

    Gaddafi is my favorite Dictator. He did some really great stuff for Libya, what happened to him was really sad. Libya might have stabilized much of Northern Africa with His planned Gold backed currency- France did not like that though, they stood to lose a lot of Power/Oil in the whole region (they have major interests in North Africa). He actually cared for his People, before his fall Libya might have been a decent place to live, even by our Western standards... It's back to being a crap-hole anymore though, I feel bad for the People who were around when he was and now have to live in such an unstable Country.

      Nice social policies.
      I've seen people bring up this gold currency rumor alot. What benefit would it serve to North African countries exactly?
      Wouldn't they run into the same problems that saw other countries give up on the gold standard prior?

    • @sannyassi73
      @sannyassi73 4 месяца назад +1

      @@mulamulelilumadi4717 It's all just speculation now so there's no real knowing. The reason he had that massive Gold reserve was to release that currency which might have worked its way into neighboring countries. The gold was all bought with Oil, so in the end it would have really been an oil backed currency. Even without that though, he did a lot of good. He certainly had his dark side though, just the best of a bad lot I'd say- Libya when he was in charge wasn't so bad.

    The Holodomor (which sounds oddly similar to Holocaust, almost as if it's meant to be implied they were equal somehow) was the result of Stalinist mismanagment and neglect to care much for people in general by Stalin's ruling elite, but it wasn't a genocide, it wasn't engineered. That's anti-communist propaganda and it doesn't take being a Stalin fan boy being able to understand that (Stlain was truly a monster and a traitor to the Bolsheviks and Lenin).
    The West took something horrible, blew it out of proportions and sold with it the story "See, communism doesn't work and is evil!" Meanwhile, they aid(ed) anti-communism wherever they coul. Real solid position to claim something doesn't work when you sabotage it at every opportunity.

    Gaddafi wasn't always the best person, but can't you say the same for the American leaders? Gaddafi was definitely not worthy of death. He made healthcare, education, and electricity completely free, he gave free farmland to those who wished to become farmers, he paid women for having kids so they could take care of them, he made Libya the 5th richest country in Africa, and increased literacy rates by a shit ton. The west killing him was probably because they didn't like all the stuff he criticized them for, in my opinion. I can't say for sure though.
    Edit: To be fair, I'll explain the bad things he has done. He once tried to invade Chad for some reason, but after like 3 days he was kicked out completely, and he also kinda sheltered Idi Amin, a cannibalistic Ugandan dictator.
    It's not like the U.S. is any better though. There is a lot of evidence that president Donald J. Trump was on Epstein Island, if you know what that is. To show I'm not biased, Joe Biden took the troops out of Afghanistan and didn't replace them, which is why they have been taken over by the Taliban. You could argue that this wasn't our problem, sure, but the USA calls themselves the freedom police, and constantly "takes care of" other governments when they're anti-west, but not when there's an actual problem. Take the Rwandan genocide for example. They knew it was happening, but didn't do 💩. You could argue that it this was the case, they wouldn't be helping Ukraine. But I think they only care about Ukraine to oppose Russia. Looking good is also a bonus. A different example of the USA doing bad is when the CIA was the organization that put Saddam Hussein in charge of Iraq in the first place. Not only this, but the CIA also GAVE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to POL POT, there by FUNDING the Cambodian Genocide. I'm pretty sure this is nothing in comparison to what Gaddafi did.
