    How great to have all those different habitats in such a short area. You are going to be spoilt for choice over there. Love the way you just throw in a Golden Eagle in the conversation as if it's an everyday thing 😂. Excellent video mate.

    I can't believe it is still warm there. We are 1000 miles south of you and we have been in the 30s and 40s for a month or so. It gets warm later in the day but cool in the mornings. We are starting to get a lot of migratory geese here now. Enjoying the videos from Canada. There are many UK photographers on YT but not nearly so many from North America.

    • @RichardBirchett

      I know it's been crazy warm really! But it's now much colder Phillip so I think that might be it for this years weird warmth. Lovely, I do enjoy this time of year when the birds arrive, very exciting. Thanks I'm really glad you are enjoying them, it would be nice to push my videos out to the North American audience but it's going slow ,so far, lol... Still for the ones that have started watching my channel I've been really pleased to get to know them better. Thanks for your support it really is great to get to speak to new people. Cheers Rich 👍

      Just curious Rich, ever considered doing some sort of webinar or on-line presentation for photography clubs to get your name and channel out there? Not sure about UK but in U.S., each city has a photography club and they are often looking for guest speakers, some in person, some via on-line. The club here has had several on-line speakers on editing, macro, landscape, etc., but I don't recall us ever having a speaker about bird photography. It seems on-line talks/presentations have become popular since Covid. it typically involves a 30 minute or so talk, slideshow, demo, and then time for Q&A. Just thinking that may be a way to begin getting some spread in U.S at least. Just a thought.

    • @RichardBirchett
      @RichardBirchett  Год назад

      @@philipculbertson55 Thanks very much for that Phillip as it's a great idea. It's something I used to do back in the UK but haven't looked at doing it here in Canada. Have you any good clubs I could approach in the US? If not I am sure I can find out. Thanks again for your help I really appreciate it. Cheers Rich

    Hi Richard, another place you may want to visit is Downsview Park. You will see red tailed hawk, kestrel and harrier. Right now there are several long eared owl. If youre lucky, you will also see short ear and saw whet. Good luck

      Thanks for the tip Roland, I've been there many times now and was astonished at how much wildlife can be found there! From a guy who lives in the remote part of the UK it shocked me to be honest but lovely to see nature working alongside humans in such a busy place. I've got a video out from there next week where I cover a few of those species. Welcome to the channel and thanks for taking the time to leave a helpful comment. Cheers Rich 👍

    Hi Richard wow that’s amazing place the verity of wildlife was fantastic, not far from where you are living to it’s great finding a new location and getting to know it, certainly got an abundance of wildlife there do you have to pay or get National Parks permit out there?,I’m just amazed at how of the stunning landscape and the fall colours for a recce video that was amazing thank you for sharing it with us. Martyn

    • @RichardBirchett
      @RichardBirchett  Год назад +1

      Cheers Martyn, it's nice to finally find some new spots and new species. I've got lots more coming up very soon, I've now switched my day to Sunday as it's been recommended to me as a better day. In the major Parks like Algonquin you need permits to visit if you are parking up or staying there, if you are driving through then it's okay. The ones in the city only charge parking so it's quite decent. It's such a vibrant time of the year, be winter soon and it's getting colder. cheers Rich 👍

    At 7:16, the Canada Goose in the left of the picture has a short neck. It wasn’t a Cackling Goose, was it? It does look a bit big for Cackling but curious what you think.
