I bought the Walmart toilet seat too. Works great, though the lid broke off the first week I used it. No worries.. I just snap it back on after using. All is well..
My concern is when I tried a lid with a garbage bag, the lid tore the garbage bag up, when removing the lid to dispose of the bag. 😟 I also want to look into this toilet lid for buckets and hope the lid is easy to remove, but also hope the lid seals in the smell. Love this bucket idea. One lady put a hole through the front of her bucket and placed a hose leading out of the bucket, into a clear container, so she can keep track of how much urine is building up into the container, to later dump. Her bucket sits a smidgen higher on top a platform, just so she can use gravity as her best friend, to drain the urine down the tube, into the container. Between this video and the other lady's video, I feel like that's the best of both worlds combo. Thank you for taking the time to show such a video. ✨️✌️
I made a composting toilet with a 5 gallon bucket and funnel, I used a gallon water jug with the top cut off due to it was very difficult to remove the urine without spilling it. I'm yet to find a good jug /bottle for the urine without actually buying a real composting toilet parts.
I have to pay attention to the urine, and at times I haven’t, but since it spills into the bucket, it really isn’t that bad. Bleach, water and ready to go.
do you have an update on how you did without venting? i plan on making my own toilet like this for my van but likely wont be able to lead a venting tube outside to let any gases escape so im wondering how it worked for you with your funnel being open to all the collected urine
For just urine it’s fine. I have one for just pee and one for both.I don’t recommend having the one with poop indoors. I use cat litter to cover. I change the bag once a week.
Okay, don't think I'm a weirdo. But how do women get to pee into the funnel? I'm very familiar with a woman's body except for that part, the urethra. LOL also, where did you get the funnel?

Just need to put a piece of 2 by 4 under your milk jug, that way it will raise the milk jug up and fit it more snug.very nice video.

Walmart has toilet seat with lid for 5 gallon buckets around $15. Stays on great and comes off easily.

I do have one just for peeing. I don’t know about you, but I pee when I poop, and you don’t want to mix pee and poop.
The removal may prove challenging if it's too full 🙈

As of right now I have it in a shed. Unless I disturb it, it doesn’t do too bad. I would not have it inside without venting.

The funnel automatically alines with that area. It’s actually a bit more problematic for men because of the scrotum. Funnel from IKEA.
