A good idea for reminding yourself of what you was going to do with yarn, get a small sticky note & write what you are going to do & wrap it around a string on the item & stick it to itself. I have to do this for my own use cause I have a bad case of C.R.S. (Can't Remember Sh!t...) lol... This getting old business is for the birds...🤣Love your videos as always, Thank you for sharing the love...🥰🥰🥰

Good afternoon Jennifer, hope your day and elbow are doing well. I make scrappy blankets with the extra and crochet on it as I go, just do it so not laying around. I keep a note at top with the hook and stitch I use. I have a cotton one and acrylic one going, I waste no yarn if I have a say have a skein left I’ll try and make some little items then put rest on my blanket. Great ideas, who needs all that yarn, when I had a lot of yarn, it overwhelms me. So now I’m finishing up all my projects and only get yarn if I need it to finish a project and if I can’t find it, I frog it and put it in my scrappy blanket! So now I but to finish. Then when I get to my other yarns, I’ll start a project til finished and order if needed. Til all my yarn is gone, then when I start a project, I’ll get the yarn I need. No more getting stuck. Love you, thanks for this fantastic video. Have a wonderful blessed day. Stay cool. ❤🤗

Hi Jen, I just made a C to C scrap afghan with my leftover yarn. With the smaller scraps I make granny squares. With the granny squares I go from one round to 4-5 rounds depending on how much is there.
I use the snap barrettes to hold in my ends of leftover yarn. This keeps them from getting tangled up. Such a time saver along with saving the annoyance/frustration of untangling the yarn.
Have a good weekend and be safe.

Jen we all have those days where we need to rejuvenate, especially after finishing a large project or weeks of hyper production. Relax and enjoy the calm, take notes when those marvelous ideas come and you will be fully armed for the next production, love ya♥Jen I found if you turn the socks inside out the seems doesn't;t bother them , it worked for us. Jen make notes on that great idea whenever it appears and take a rubber band and attach it to that yarn that inspired you♥I just finished a sweater for my grandson with that same Jeans yarn, it's so yummy soft. WHOA< that basket holds a bunch of yarn, LOLGeez,, I have been trying to decide what to make with the single balls of Fibre' yarn I have, thanks Jen for the ideas. My left overs I collect until the yub is full and then I take those little balls and make a large cake of potpourri yarns and then use it to make baskets with it. Yes I enjoyed this Friday with Cinnamon Stitches and Jennifer R. love ya, write those ideas down or they will be lost.♥

Great question, Jen! Can't wait to see everyone's answers. Firstly, I try to use all the yarn on a project, also. If it's a baby blanket, I use the last bits to make a small-sized, lovey blanket for baby to hold. I try to cake up the leftover skeins and keep them together by weight, just in case I need a small amount for fringe or a border. That way they're neat and clean looking and don't look like trash! 🤭 The tiny bits? I make a magic ball of yarn and then crochet scarves or hats for donations. I never throw away any yarn that's over a yard. 😊👍🧶

I just used a partial skein of cotton last night. Made a water bottle cosy in v-stitch, went until I ran out of yarn. It was that random inspiration that struck after having it sit in my eye line for months. Hi Jennifer. Do hope you have an awesome weekend. I love all of the yarn you have cause a lot of them are so colorful and pastel too. I’ve done wash clothes too but I’d love to Ty to learn to do things that you have go do circles with cause I have yet to learn how to do that cUse all I’ve done are a huge blanket a prayer shawl and also a lap size blanket too then I stopped crocheting and that was in the mid 2000’s and I never went back to it cause now I’m nervous to do it cause my hands hurt me a lot and pretty much all the time too cause I have Arthritis in them and I’m pretty definite that dialysis caused that. But by watching you and you saying the different things that certain colors can be used to make, I really do want to get back into it again and I’m so excited to see what you have in store with the yarn you have an the ideas you have in your mind too. God bless and have an awesome weekend too. Sue M. Clearwater, Florida ❤️🥰🙏🦋❌⭕️

When it gets a little full, I will pair it with a light or dark shade and make a blanket, I saw this on Jayda’s channel and it works really well. Usually then I will donate those. I do make a lot of hats if there is enough in the skein 😊 Any teeny tiny scraps I bin those as otherwise they would drive me crazy 🤣🤣 Love the yellow yarn, def pair it up and it would make a fabulous hat 😊

Jen, I use the bits of yarn if not too small in making granny squares. As long as the yarn type and weight are the same I just tie on the yarn to the next piece and keep making my granny. I use one color, black, or white to make the project cohesive. I like making grannies like this because usually no two squares will look the same in my granny square blanket. I have also made a couple of other blankets using leftover yarn, but I tried to balance the colors on both end of the blanket to make it seem like it wasn't made from scraps. Great idea to go thru our old yarn, never know what you will find. I buy yarn because I love the color and then store and forget. Thanks.

Hi Jenn, I've done the regular scrappy blankets that are ongoing, but sometimes I have scraps that are too nice to toss, and different enough that they won't go well into the scrappy blankets or that I feel are too nice to go into my scrappy blankets. But using them in a stripy sweater is great. I just pick a neutral or coordinating color to break up the scrappy stripes and go for it. I'm not a fan of stripes over the whole body, so often I just do the yoke or sleeves, etc in stripes. This way it can be different colors, novelty yarns, or whatever. I just put them together to make the right gauge.
The other thing I've been doing is putting all the bits of sock yarn together and knitting tubes on my sock machine. Then when I have enough tubes, I'll stitch them together to make a double layer blanket. I've done this on my Addi machine with thicker yarn as well. It makes amazing blankets. If the edges are irregular at all, then I border them with a fluffy yarn like chenille or whatever. It covers up any bumps or slight differences in yarn gauge.
The other thing I make is monster mitts/socks. They don't match, they are just any yarns of the same fiber & gauge. For mitts I make them with the thumb out the side rather than for a specific hand. That way they go in the mitten basket by the door and anyone that needs mitts for anything can grab two that fit and head out the door, keeping them.
All the tiny scraps get saved in a bag and I give those to the preschool that our granddaughter attends. They use it for craft & sensory projects. They usually get a box or two a year of whatever I'm not using, or know I probably won't use.
Side note: I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that you did a stash dive for YP Friday! Please do that again. I have so much stash that I probably never have to buy again in my life. Of course I will, but I really want to use what I already have.
Take care & have a great weekend 🥰

First I asked my son if he wanted to go and he said no, he already had plans. Then I asked my daughter who lives in Petersburg and she had plans. Finally I asked my youngest if she wanted to go and she said, 'we can't we have plans'. This confused me, as she will usually give a name as to who the other part of 'we' is! It's a theater weekend for us, we're going to see Beetlejuice. That daughter buys a season pass to the local theater for me as my presents for the year.
Jennifer, the yarn whose colorway is Tulip is a dream! When you showcased that last year, I mentioned to my son that I loved it because it reminded me of my parents. Guess what my son got me for Christmas 2023?! I'm currently making a sweater with it and it's so incredibly soft and drapes so very nicely. Happy stitching Jennifer of Cinnamon Stitches, all Cinnamon Buns, and all followers of Jennifer's Jovial Junkies! (I have always loved alliteration)

I love that type of yarn for wash cloths and dish cloths. Hard to find though.

I have a bag of "leftover yarn" Here recently I made a scrappy granny square that kinda looks like the blanket from the tv show Roseanne. The take the strings that aren't long enough for the "leftover yarn" bag get tied together and balled up, that eventually will become a scrappy amigurumi.

I like to make blankets with my scraps. I start making a ball and just keep adding my scraps as I get them. Once I get the ball big enough, I start making a blanket. When I get to the end of the ball, I tie it to the next ball. I like to use the invisible knot when I tie my yarn together.

Morning, Glory! Yes, yes, yes I totally enjoyed todays video. I love watching you sort through your scrap bin and YES Id love to watch you take white fluff, dying it then finishing the project of making it into yarn! You say you struggle to figure out what to make from certain yarns, but you do manage to come up with great projects! Im excited to see what your brain comes up with!
    Happy Weekend!❤❤
