Remember when we were kids, they had TV tables that you would eat your dinner on and they would fold up and get put behind the couch or wherever. Maybe a little cheap one would help you when you’re in your recliner you could put your new spinners on it.
That is what I use. My space is too small for a desk.
I have tables that click into the arm of my chair. They work great
I use the a wood TV Tray in front of my recliner. I put my yarn spinner on the table and adjust my recliner and set back and crochet. I love my spinner, it is made from Bamboo and came with two hanging dowels. ( I agree it looks like my banana holder.) my yarn has never tangled and rolls off easy. Enjoy yours ❤.

After a year of wondering about the yarn handy thing - I finally got one! During Prime days it was on sale with 2 coupons! Not sure which brand, but I got it for about $8 ! And it came with an extra spindle! I chose the bamboo one.
I outer pull so much now & it certainly saves yarn card & having to ball yarn. Plus! When my cake/skein starts to collapse, the spindle keeps it from becoming completely tangled!

I really like the idea of using those yarn spinners. I usually center pull but many of the yarns have so much yarn barf that spinning yarn holder would be great. 🧶💜🙏🏻

I have the original Yarn Jeanie. I loved it so much that I ordered a double wood one from Temu. That’s so I could use multiple colors at once. But when crocheting one color center pull is my jam.

Until I started watching Utube I had never heard of centre pull yarn. I tried it but found it really difficult. So I have the single magnet yarn holder. It is such a help to my arthritic hands.
I wish we had those drink mixes in the UK. They sound interesting. Especially as they are sugar free.

I love that you are holding it and that spindle is still attached to the top magnet! It is the main detail that I need to be strong. I had purchased a yarn holder on Amazon that was $14.99, could have been good right? No. The magnet on the spindle always detached from the top. When I picked it up it simply dropped off of the top magnet🤦🏽♀️. I put a 5oz cake of DKColors: Batik on it and then LIGHTLY tapped it with my finger, and the spindle just kept dropping from the top magnet. They, Amazon, have a $4.99 PLASTIC yarn holder that has a far superior magnet and is very tall. I would be happy with just this plastic one, but my newly diagnosed stage 3 autistic grandson, LOVES IT SO MUCH 😂 I can’t get it back, and I am color controlling my hexicardigan, and I need to pull from the outside. I just purchased the one you have (thank you for showing it) and I know the magnet is strong since you keep lifting it and that spindle is not detaching 👏🏽☺️

O saw another channel that her double one has 2 holders back to back with a magnetic spindle on each. She prefers it to the side by side because the yarns don’t touch.

I prefer an outer pull because I really dislike the yarn barf when I do center pull.
Hi Jen! Okay I have the two skein holder and I use it when I am using two differnt colored skeins in my project. The one thing I recomend is putting those felt pads you can use under dining room chair legs on the bottom of the holder because it slided on smooth surfaces. Other than that it is great. The two skeins don't get tangled when you switch colors. Have fun...hugs

For the best results with them I recommend caking up the skein - you will get spots of resistance when crocheting if you don't. Try it directly from a skein versus caked in a winder and you'll see what I mean.

I would be interested to see how you like those 2 style yarn holders. I do not know if I would enjoy the magnet holder swinging about as I work but then again maybe it would be fun to see. I have a single one similar to the double yarn holder but the spindle that fits on it sits on a decent sized dowel and turns nicely. I really love it. It is highly portable and I bought a 2nd one as a back up or for when I am using 2 colors of yarn. Thank you for sharing your amazing gifts with us. Have a wonderful day. Blessings♥
I don’t really notice the swinging. It sits on the stand next to my sofa. Plus it only moves a little at a time as you use the yarn.

Hi Jennifer, Thank you for the review on the yarn holders. I just want to tell you Nancy from She'z got yarn 2 also put one together like the first one you put together with the magnet but it was a double so you could use two skeins. That one I think was like 65 dollars through Amazon and you could choose what color wood you would like it in. She also may have been the one to request more spindles cause I think she mentioned it when she was putting them together. You did make up my mind for me as to if I needed one or not and which one to get. Thank you Again.

I found out last year that several yarns I love are not made to BE center pull...Landscapes, Scarfie, Unforgetable, to name a few!
Those yarn holders are very cool! The hanging one is similar to one that LlamaMamaKayla uses but I think hers is plastic. She has it linked in her description box. She loves hers but doesnt use it often, I dont think.❤❤
The yarn holder is awesome and you will enjoy it. Unfortunately, they do not send extra spindles…I emailed and tried but never heard back. I just went ahead and bought a few more. Thank you for all the work you put into your videos and your great personality!

I have the double spinner by Artowell
I bought several brands and found that the Artowell had stronger magnets and did not hit the frame one is taller then the other on Amazon with 25% coupon it 54.00 worth every Penney . I also purchased 2 extra spindles for $25 for set of 2 one short and one tall so you can switch out yarn with out pulling off your current yarn . I think buying extra spindles are a great they sit on the counter great .
I have that yarn holder and I also got that card for "one free spindle". I emailed them like the card said, but have not received any free spindle. I ended up buying another one for $12. Just fyi.
On a happier note, I can't live without the holder. 😁

I got a very similar yarn genie and absolutely love it. Its amazing that my $26 yarn Genie works better than my almost $90 yarn thingy... sorry the name of it escapes me... it reminds me of a toilet roll holder lol.
I like to pull both ways but my favorite way is inner pull I have had yarn get tangled from outer pull not a lot but has happened lol. ❤

I outer pull a lot and just let it bounce around on my couch. I put a blanket on the edge of my couch to help corral the yarn. That’s just me.

Dog hair is a nightmare isn’t it? I do not understand how my dogs are not hairless already they shed so much. I often ask them how are you not naked?😳. I definitely need a sully or yarnit for sure. The one with the magnetic is gr88 no tangles at all
I know it might ruin the aesthetic of the piece but you could stick a small piece of felt on the back piece so when it's swinging it wouldn't click as much when it touches it, maybe, just a thought.

I got obe 2 or 3 minths ago and got extra spundles. They are great but ine iasue is they don't accomomodate cones. I got the double spindle with the straight shaft. No clinking here ever.
Was watching your video and thought the paper towel holder would work just as well It cost a dollar so im going to try it out.Im guessing it depends on the size of the rod and the opening of the yarn. I am still trying to make yarn cakes made one turned out messy but still could center pull
Unless the center of the paper towel holder spins freely, it wont work. I have tried. Its more hassle than its worth.
Tell Christa to turn the "arm" of the yarn holder to the side of her yarn rather than behind the yarn. The part that swings will still swing more front to back than side to side so it won't bang as much.
