Gas engine dually trucks are a great match for truck campers. Thanks for answering my question.

You certainly answered the question I was pestering you about by way of viewing the second sticker on the door jamb as it shows the front axle weight rating according to the set of torsion bars the truck came with. 5600 lb which by my info would say you have the camper only torsion bar upgrade, not the all out stiffest snow plow prep/camper torsion bars. Those stiffest ones and again that is from reading forum comments from truck owners that have hauled a camper on a gas pickup and then driving that same pickup empty or pulling a trailer. Its just too stiff as its the same 6000 lb rated torsion bar that the diesel pickup has ... what works fine for the diesel pickup is just too much for the gas equivalent pickup. Keep us posted on your squeaky situation ... and here I thought more lube was the ticket ! LOL.

JJ, are you sure the squeaking isn’t coming from your FastGuns? My truck is a 2018 3500 GMC paired with a Bigfoot camper and my springs never make any noise…. just my FastGuns. Once every spring I put a bit of lube in them to keep them quiet. Safe travels!

Speaking of the undercoating that you had applied and may have had the side effect on the spring noise, what brand or type of product is that. Is it a lanolin product like fluid film or some other type of product. The reason I am curious about that, my plan at this point is to try fluid film under a truck, no one I have come across around here applies non curing protection products, one shop said they apply the tar crap and I know what happens with that, it cracks and then it rusts far worse behind the product. Its not like I have a lift so I don't know just how awful the experience will be trying to spray and cover inside some panels and frame as well as covering everything else. I guess I will be looking forward to hearing noises from the springs as well ... that will be one of the negatives.

Your numbers are a tad better than I expected. You see the reason for asking so much is simply because I need to know if a diesel is worth the extra money. But since I already bought a 2022 Dodge dually limited, I'm stuck with this expenisve vehicle. With only 25 hundred miles I suspect I could sell it but not sure it's worth switching to a gas engine. I got about 14 MPG hauling a 10.2 Northern lite. Sometimes I got 15, sometimes i got 13 but over all about average of 14 through mountains. Small mountains. lol That's good but not that much better than you got. I have the Aisin transmission, with a 3.73 rear end. quad cab, long bed, 6 speed is how many gears the Aisin transmission has. This transmission suppose to be top notch but Dodge is after the company to produce more gears. Japan says no more gears are needed needed but personally I think more gears would get better MPG. ??? Since I don't drive much, I'm learning from others what problems I might have in the future with my diesel. DEF filter seems to be the biggest problem. I wish now I bought the gas version but not sure about the Hemi in the Dodge. I probably would go with a 6.6 gas like you have. I Would have saved a ton of money. On well, what's done is done right? Great video JJ. I'm sure you don't worry about somone putting you down. You seem like the type that you really don't care what people think when it comes to you doing something. . When is comes to camping, traveling each person has their own way of doing things. Some like Class A, some 5th wheels, some class C's, and people like us, Well we love the truck campers. Hard to believe you have NOT used the toilet. I do remember you saying you would not use it in one of your first videos. Anyway keep the post coming and stay safe. I assume your past where I live by now. I'm in Ga East of Atlanta. Stay warm, Bill Ohhhh, the payload on my Dodge is 5280 pounds. Seems high, I know, 2023 payload, same truck is lower. Figure that one out.
