I love it when the final boss of Mario games are just like actual demons. Like damn, Shadow Queen does not play around. She sucks away your life and can even just drag you down to the shadow realm. All that with an epic battle theme as well.
@Leeloo_the_fox Yeah it's so sick and awesome. I can't wait to see how the remake pans out for TTYD, I secretly hope they even make the game a little bit darker with its theme
"Okay so she's been weakened by the cheers of literally everyone in the game and the Stars, surely she'll die quickly now..." *This theme plays* "FUCK." This summarizes my first experience against the Shadow Queen, what a great final boss! I might prefer Super Dimentio thematically but Shadow Queen isn't just a threat lore-wise, but gameplay-wise too and I can respect that.
@@makesomething4093 I wish the final battle in mario sunshine was this cool, tho I'll admit using the rocket nozzle to break the platforms was pretty cool
@@ThePrimarySolution I see where you're coming from but I respectfully disagree. True, in that specific part I think I prefer the synths here to the vocals in the remake, but I still don't dislike said vocals and even if I did, in my opinion they did literally everything else right and that more than makes up for it :D
Ngl i do like the remake version too, it sounds badass in some parts but man, do i love the wailing part at 0:31 to 0:44 in the original because it sounds like souls crying in agony because of how terrifying the Shadow Queen really is. Love it
Yeah, I SO wish they'd kept those synths because they're my favorite part of this song other than the beat at the beginning of the loop, but each song goes absolutely off
exactly what im thinking!! at least they could improve the sound quality itself as in higher bitrate and such but i dont know how else they can improve on this. I hope they don't ruin the vibe the original song was going for
My favorite Paper Mario final boss theme is a tie between TTYD and TOK, and this one might just take the cake just for how freaking scary it is. 👌🏻They definitely knocked this one out of the park!
@@ClaireS-op8id Honestly I personally feel the Paper series as a whole have fantastic OSTs in my book. With the original Trilogy (N64 TTYD SPM) having some of my favorite music from the Mario series.
I also think Paper Mario music is amazing. I think I prefer a lot of the modern trilogy OSTs because of nostalgia, but every single game in the franchise has songs that are up there amongst Mario’s greatest. 🎶
Such a menacing theme. This song literally makes you feel like "holy fuck, im fighting an all powerful thousand year old demon. And if i lose, the entire world ends." Gives me chills dude

@@Skavoc It is this push by people that making everything "metal" is the best. Agreed completely. The remake version isn't terrible, but it lost most of the eerie vibes the original had and the sound balance is a bit off in a few areas (plus I don't really like the extra segment, but that's subjective)

I always found Kirby games to be cathartic in that regard. Tiny pink puffball absorbing Eldritch Gods for breakfast.

And that’s saying a LOT
About to be one of the best bosses on the switch
@@makesomething4093 I wish the final battle in mario sunshine was this cool, tho I'll admit using the rocket nozzle to break the platforms was pretty cool
When final bosses were actually final bosses and they would kick the shit out of you
The large amount of final bosses of the era that were basically glorified cutscenes really says otherwise
@@Dracomut I'd say that's more rampant nowadays to be honest.
The distant synths at 0:30 give off such an eerie vibe

One of the best and most satisfying bosses to beat in a Mario rpg ever. Really feels like a fitting end to such a great adventure
